Service was excellent! The staff member was really knowledgeable about the wines and had great recommendations based off of your preferences. We went around Christmas time, so the ambiance was extra beautiful!

A quaint little place for really good wine. We came over after some friends mentioned how good the selection was and they were right. Very laid back, live music that was relaxing, and a truly vast selection. The service was good and we actually bought an extra bottle to take home. We will be back:)

What a hidden gem. The manager Tom may not be an official Sommelier but his knowledge of what we like is absolutely spot on. We go maybe 3-4 times a year but he remembers our names, what we've tried in the past, and what we like. Great selection of smaller and lesser known vintners from central coast, Central Valley, and some Sonoma and Napa wines. Good sample of wines from France, Italy, Argentina, and even Albania. It's an amazing experience.

Five stars for an awesome experience. There's so many cool and new places to check out in downtown Sanford but Ellen's Wine Room has been around longer than most places in the area. This is a great spot to bring your special someone or a group of friends to enjoy a drink and spark up a convo. The decor is very old and neat and there's wine all over the place that you choose to drink. The selection of wine is endless. They got it all: red, white, sparkling and prices varies depending on your taste. There's also a few cheap wines you can find at the gas station if you're into that so they got something for everyone. The beer selection is also great as they offer some craft including a few super exclusives you won't find anywhere else. The staff is friendly and be sure to chat with Mrs. Ellen if she's there.

Ellen and Karen's hosting is amazing. The ambiance is beautiful and warm while their conversation is not only interesting but knowledgeable. If at Sanford this is a must visit place.

Forged with a necessity to fill the gaping void of Wine Warehouse shutting it's doors, Ms. Hartman opened Ellen's Wine Room in Sanford's historic district. Quickly becoming the local stomping ground for wine aficionados, Ellen's Wine Room is a charming wine bar to relax and enjoy "reasonably priced " wines and imported beers with your family and friends. PS: Be sure to check out Tuesday Wine Swap or Thursday themed tasting, where $15-20 per person will fetch you a three-course home cooked meal and some good old grape juice, aka wine.

If you wanted a covid safe wine room then turn away and run far. Both owners were non-compliant with wearing masks, saftey measures, or even common decency; avidly denouncing the pandemic wracking our entire world for close to a year. Spewing out political propoganda about how the virus isn't that bad and that we should all reopen claiming that if some die it would be worth it. Very negative experience and I will most definitely never come back. Charming people who unfortunately revealed themselves to be absolute devils, had they not spoke a word about politics and worn their masks this would be a very different review. Owners were allowing patrons who had been to covid-positive gatherings without masks to the detriment of others. Hopefully those who check yelp will find that this review turned them away and probably saved a life in the process.
