I had lunch here yesterday. The service was fast and attentive. We had smoky breath cocktail and the Cadillac margarita. I had the chilie rellenos and my friend had a spicy shrimp dish. The drinks were made fresh to order and were strong. We both liked our food. The food tasted authentic and fresh. The tables and bathrooms were clean. I would return here for sure.

El Zócalo is definitely one of my favorite local spots in Downtown Sanford. The service has been great every time I've visited. They offer plenty of seating both inside and outside. Everything I've tried on the menu has been amazing. During my last visit I tried the Queso Fundido and Camarones a la Tequila and wow, both were full of flavor and very good! Also had the Al Pastor Torta which was so good. Will be returning.

It is such a cute place and I love that it has outside and inside service. Our server, David was excellent. The music is a little loud inside the restaurant so we opted to sit outside and people watch.We were there for happy hour, and I had two excellent margaritas. I had the seafood scallop and shrimp enchilada, which was very unique and tasty. There was a lot of scallops, but they were the really tiny ones. My husband's burrito, which buried the name of the restaurant was quite sizable and he enjoyed that as well. This is my second time here. I had a taco salad, the first time which was good. I think that they have very dependably good food.

This is a Sanford favorite and recently I tried a new dish, the Chicken Tortilla Soup. It was excellent and comforting on a cold night. Service was accommodating of our large party and found us a spot inside since they don't have heaters on their patio right now. Our server was on top of everything and got every order right and on time.The menu didn't describe it so I wasn't sure how it was going to look. The broth is rich and sort of like a puree. It has a nice gentle heat to it with a mound of shredded chicken in the center. It looked like pinto beans were in the broth as well. A family favorite is the skirt steak dinner and tamale dinner. Their margaritas are also tasty and they have a nice selection of beer to pair with your dinner. Parking isn't bad and we usually park on first street and make our way back to Sanford Ave. there is street parking outside of the restaurant, but we enjoy the walk.

We celebrated my friend's birthday here. The food seemed authentic and tasty and fresh. Definitely visit this place if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. Service was fast and my server did explain me different options and made recommendations. The restaurant is located in Sanford downtown area and it is pretty close from parking spot if you don't get street parking close to the restaurant

Very cute ambiance. Festive for the holidays. Harp player in background. Food was yummy-group of 5. Server accidentally dumped glass of water on my daughter. Her meal was comped, but server didn't know how to respond. Never really apologized.

Always great food at El Zocalo. Very cool vibe and eclectic decor. Often live music that is welcome. We've been there when there was a guy playing Mexican harp. We go to this place whenever we are hungry for good Mexican food and are never disappointed.

Aside from the no greeting or seating I found my way to a table. The chiles rellenos came out very quickly possibly due to them being frozen bc the cheese inside was cold! A word re same to the waitress yielded nothing. Some sort of spice ran through the whole dish. The refried beans were loaded with salt. The chips and salsa were good. I won't be back. Lo siento.
