El Tenampa Mexican Restaurant

Great food, huge portions! The strawberry margarita was amazing too. Our service was fast and efficient. This is true mexi food!

It's been a while since we last stopped by at tenampa, boy the food is still delicious and packed with people. The food arrived in less then 15 minutes, pipping hot and well seasoned. This is a must go place for locals and visitors.

We came back, that time for dinner on Sunday.Restaurant was kind of full, unfortunately this time the service was REALLY, REALLY SLOW.They do have complementary chips, but doesn't taste much. They have a lot of juices, but just to let u know, they are so so sweet, I wish I could taste more the fruit and less sugar. Food was OK, we ordered the meat table for 4 + 1 plate for 2. Was enough and we took almost half home. Had fish, shrimp, pork, pulled pork, chicken with ham and cheese, tortilla handmade I don't think we will go back again, but if you never been, should try at least one time.Maybe we didn't have good experience both times we've been there, but as it's always full I recommend once

My sister in law and I recently visited this charming hole-in-the-wall Mexican food place with my cousin from out of town, and it definitely hit the spot for authentic Mexican cuisine. Tucked away in a cozy corner, this unassuming gem delivered an unforgettable dining experience.Upon entering, we were greeted by the vibrant aromas of spices and grilled meats, setting the stage for what was to come. The decor was simple and unpretentious, with colorful and cultural touches that made us feel right at home.We started with complimentary chips and salsa. While the salsa wasn't spicy at all, it was fresh and flavorful, making for a pleasant beginning to our meal. Our drink choices were also spot-on: refreshing micheladas and a creamy piña colada that provided a perfect balance to the flavors of the food.For appetizers, we enjoyed street corn, which was perfectly grilled and generously seasoned. It had just the right amount of creaminess and spice, making it a standout starter.The main courses were where the restaurant truly shined. The birria tacos were incredibly flavorful, with tender meat and a rich, savory broth for dipping. The fajitas were sizzling and well-seasoned, accompanied by a mix of vibrant peppers and onions. For a bit of an adventure, we asked our waitress to surprise us with the last dish. She brought out a perfectly cooked steak paired with an empanada and a special sauce that was slightly sweet and spicy - an unexpected delight. The house spicy sauces provided an extra kick that enhanced every dish.Service was another highlight of our visit. The waitress was friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food. She even hooked us up with some of the house's spicy sauces, which added a fun element to our meal.Overall, the food was pretty good, and the experience was enjoyable. While I'm not sure if I would go back there again, it's a great spot for anyone looking to try authentic Mexican cuisine in a casual, welcoming setting. My cousin, sister in law and I left with full stomachs and smiles, having thoroughly enjoyed our culinary adventure.

We went for the first time and it was great. It was like a little Mexican corner. The food was fantastic, and the service was super friendly. We ordered margaritas, a burrito, tacos, fajitas, and a michelada, and everything was delicious. We would not order the strawberry margarita with the paleta again because the paleta was very plain, but the rest of the food and drinks were delicious.

Food was plentiful! Wow so much and could've easily split with someone else. Pretty authentic and great server. I'm picky about 5/5 stars for Mexican food. So this place is a great spot if you are in the area.

The best Mexican food I've ever had (even taking into account places I've been to at Mexico). This nice place has the ambiance of a genuine Mexican establishment (even hosting mariachi bands). The service is efficient, never had to wait long for food or even a table. The pricing for the value is very good especially when comparing it to other Mexican/Tex Mex options. The market next door also adds a genuine element. This is my go to place for Mexican food whenever I'm in the mood.

I continually have amazing experiences here and highly recommend. This time I tried the steak and YUM! So worth it. This is the first time I've seen the Mariachis back since the shutdown, it was such a treat when they sang to our table. Looking forward to my next visit!

Family owned, fantastic food and fair portions! This location was recommended to me by a fellow Yelper, WrightDownMainStreet and my friend Dominic, and they were RIGHT!The agua frescas are divine and I usually order at least 2 per visit.

Amazing steak burrito with so much flavor. In my top 5 burritos I've ever ate and their salsa had so much flavor as well. There hot sauce was head sweating good. Great service and clean place. Well done, keep it up!!!
