I'm not sure I know where to start. Our servers name was Thomas . He was one of the best servers I have ever experienced. The atmosphere was beautiful. The food was simply amazing. Absolutely stunning bar and restaurant.

We are staying at the Mission Hills resort for my hubbies work. He had a business dinner so I came here in my own. The server who was also the bartender (Kailee) was amazing. She went above and beyond! The food and drinks were top notch. So happy I had dinner here.

This was a nice, elegant dining experience ... but overall, it was just OK. We dined here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it wasn't what either of us expected. The dining room provides an elegant setting, but the guests who were dining were dressed down, and it seemed to present an odd juxtaposition of casual and formal. It also felt slightly dated in regard to the interior decoration.I thought it was interesting that the restaurant is adjacent to a bar/lounge area that offers food like pizza and small bites. Only a small entryway divides the two dining locations. In my opinion, the shared space took away from the prestige of dining out in a nice restaurant. We also noticed several guests tried to dine in our half of the restaurant but either didn't have reservations or were trying to walk in right before close. At one point, there was a slightly heated discussion with management. It was an interesting dynamic and distracting. The food was good, but later, it didn't settle very well. I will say the bread service was top notch! We went in the evening, so I would like to go back and see this place during the daytime. I understand the resort is absolutely beautiful. At nighttime, I think the place loses some of its natural beauty and elegance, given that they have harsh yellow lights illuminating the stairs and walkways. There's also a lack of directional signage to help you find your way around. It took us a while to discover that the restaurant was upstairs. The other thing I thought was odd was that the security gate was just left open at night. Not a big deal, but I thought it was strange to have a gate with no one there.I would like to give this place another try at some point to see it during the day, but I wouldn't necessarily go back again for a romantic dinner date.

This property is located at the Mission Inn and resort. It is on the third level and has a shared space with La Margarita. Upon check-in, if you do not tell them which restaurant you were there for, you might go to La Margarita instead of El conquistador. They are a higher end restaurant from La Margarita, offering seafood steak, and chicken. We tried the dayboat seafood, which included the Chilean Sea bass. It was accompanied by broccolini, lobster butter mashed potatoes and micro greens. The fish can vary based on what they have available that day. They often also have a red snapper for this dish. I will say, the Seabass was cooked excellent and the seasoning was the same. The portion size was decent too. For dessert we had a pumpkin sorbet and a pumpkin ice cream. Both had a true pumpkin flavor, with the ice cream having a little bit more of a spicy taste. They placed star fruit as an accompaniment. We ordered a bottle of wine, the Rombauer. It is classified as a Chardonnay, but if you are a seasoned wine drinker you might characterize this as a very buttery full body wine. For this location, the price was relatively decent. They also had a Meiomi Chardonnay and Rodney Strong Chalk Hill. Both are clean and light Chardonnay's. Overall the price and quality of wines are decent. We also felt that the service was excellent, as the service from the assistant manager, server and assistant server continuously checked on us throughout the night. We would highly recommend this restaurant for the intimacy, service, and quality of food. If I had a constructive criticism for this review, I would mention that the restaurants share a bathroom and you have to walk through one restaurant to the other to get to it.

Ordered the lobster bisque soup ($12). The flavor of the soup was great and the pastry in it was delicious. However, I was very surprised that it had no lobster. I urge the owner and chef to add chunks of lobster and adjust the price and I will gladly pay the price difference! The steak was okay, a little overcooked. The mashed potatoes were fine. The white chocolate cheesecake was too thick-it lacked creaminess. I will try this restaurant again and, hopefully, they make the recommended changes.

steaks were 44$ but absolutely burned. risotto was lacking ingredients listed also expensive. short rib was done well but overall. it was an expensive and horrible experience. they said there was a trainee I'm guessing in the kitchen? if so, our tab for seven people was outrageous for a "learner's" efforts
