Stopped by for lunch while in the area. It's been a long time since I have been to durian durian. We shared a meatball appetizer that was on the special for the day. I ordered the Thai coconut noodle soup with shrimp for lunch. It was good and hit the spot since it was cold out that day. Service was good. They don't have a separate lunch menu.

Had a good meal here overall. Service was good and quick. Very knowledgeable about menu and helped guide to some great choices. I enjoyed the pad Thai. Seats are a little close, given the small size of the inside. It doesn't look amazing from the outside but don't let that fool you. It's worth the stop!

I once again found myself in the foodie mecca called Orlando. Yes it was cheer nationals weekend again and it was time to checkout more wonderful places to eat. And Orlando doesn't disappoint.Just the name of the restaurant catches your attention because of the words durian durian. If you are unaware of the controversial fruit durian, please google it. But in short, you either love durian or you hate it. This restaurant doesn't convey that they infuse the taste of durian into all their dishes. The use of the word durian is more for attention. They do have fried durian ice cream which I really wanted to try, but I couldn't eat another bite.DDFTC is located close to the airport in an area known as Lake Nona. In an older looking but large strip mall, there is plenty of parking available. DDFTC is beautifully decorated with regional asian memorabilia and dim lighting to create a very calm and peaceful ambience. There is quiet background music but with an atmosphere that encourages you not to speak too loudly. They have a simple 2 page menu with an extra 'specials' menu. They have most of the thai classics as well as noodle and rice dishes. Take a look at my photo of the menu. With many of their main entrees, you must choose your choice of protein: chicken, beef, shrimp, tofu or seafood combo which includes scallops and calamari. You will also be asked to choose a spice level: mild, medium, hot or thai hot. After a few agonizing minutes of decision making, Tammy and I decided on the following:Roti canai: yom yom yom yomThe only bad thing I can say about this appertizer was that there wasn't enough of the roti. The accompanying curry in a tiny bowl was perfect with the roti. You can tell that it was made fresh because when handling it, the roti was so warm it could burn your fingers. The curry was sweet and savory.Thai coconut noodle soup: yom yom yom yomThis is a classic thai dish with heavy coconut broth served with bean sprouts, mushrooms, scallions and of course noodles. The taste was on par and delicious. Tammy chose chicken with hot spicy level. Her nose was running.Malaysian curry laksa: yom yom yom yomThis broth is very similar to their thai coconut but with a little more yellow curry powder. I chose the seafood combo and medium spicy. Let me stop here and preface that I know what a traditional malaysian curry laksa should taste and this one was close but not the original. I would've preferred a little more bean sprouts and sliced cucumber. Garnishing with a fried egg was interesting because normally it would be a hard boiled egg. The flavor profile is slightly different from the way it's traditionally made but still very good. I would eat it again... after trying everything else on the menu.Spicy Drunken noodle: yom yom yom yomStir fried noodles with snow peas, bell peppers, carrots, onions, egg, basil leaves, chilli paste in a brown sauce. The way they cook their drunken noodles is definitely different than the typical thai restaurant. I liked the chilli paste in the brown sauce. There were plenty of sliced onions and carrots too. There were so many dishes that I wanted to try, but this was our first time and will definitely have to return. Not sure when that will be. Like any good fusion eatery, DDFTC blend different cuisines and many times create their own interpretations of dishes. I noticed there were a few returning customers and our server said that DDFTC has been in business for 15 years. Our server was outstanding. She was attentive and the food arrived quickly. Prices are reasonable and portions were large. The soup bowls were huge and filled to the brim. Good job DDFTC.

Food - sadly I was disappointed. The drunken noodle was so salty I would have sent it back if I was by myself. Hopefully this was a 1 time error cause I don't see anybody else eating it this way; you can not taste anything else wxcept for the saltiness with a hint of basil. The mongilian beef had a nice smoky flavor but the sweetness if the sauce overpowered the rest of the flavors. No complaints on the service, food arrived in decent time. Nice decor and volume of music was just right that you can have a conversation and hear the other person adequately. I've been here when they first opened and was not impressed then, gave it another try since they made it 12 years I think...did not pass my taste for Thai food.

Food was greatService was greatClean and beautiful decor. Good for a date or family dinner. They have music playing that is not to loud that you can talk and have conversation. I notice upon arriving and waiting for food there was a lot of people doing take out.. picking up food. Later before I left the restaurant was getting more sit in. Everything ordered had good flavor and I would order again. The restaurant is in a plaza so there is a lot of parking.

The food was fresh, hot and delicious! The customer service was impeccable. We tried the mongolian beef, thai basil chicken fried rice, summer rolls and appetizer sampler. All 10 out of 10! The restaurant was cozy and bathrooms so clean too.
