Is one of my favorite breakfast and lunch spots in downtown Orlando a convenience store? Yes. It is. But DT Cafe isn't just a little lottery and snack store tucked away in the corner of a plaza inside the Sun Trust Building (the one with the green pyramids on top.) It's also a husband and wife owned cafe that serves damn good food. First of all, they're super nice and hardworking. They care that you like what you order. And in the back of their convenience shop they actually have a tiny kitchen. From there they serve breakfast sandwiches, hamburgers, BLTs, pulled pork, sandwiches, etc. In fact, the egg salad sandwich is a home run, especially if you get it with LTO, pickles and bacon. The burgers are tasty. And I have a friend who can crush two BLTs at a time. My recommendation is to call ahead. The lunch rush can get busy. Also, they have specials everyday - ranging from homemade stews, lasagna, soups, salads and more. And the breakfast sandwiches I mentioned are seriously legit. In all, this isn't just a convenience store - although it is really convenient. It's a genuinely respectable deli serving fresh, homemade food with love.

This hidden gem, family owned "bodega" in the Suntrust building is my new go-to! Pro tip: make sure you don't leave without grabbing a homemade cookie! It won't disappoint. Anyway. You may miss it if you don't know where it is, but this cafe holds anything you might need. Snacks, drinks, pre-made sandwiches, salads, feminine products, anything! They also have a daily lunch special that cannot be beat: I had the grilled cheese + chili for $6 and it was A LOT of food and delicious. I love supporting small businesses especially when the owners are so kind and helpful. Also helps that those cookies are so delicious, too!

I have visited this cafe a couple of times during lunch to grab a chicken salad sandwich, chips, or cold tea. Today's visit was my first for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast sandwich of egg, bacon & cheese on a croissant. Made fresh to order there was a small wait, no biggie. Once completed the owner very confidently says "you're gonna love this" He was right. This sandwich rocked! I have never had such a tasty breakfast sandwich in my life. Every bit of it is perfection. Stop by and try for yourself.

4 stars for one of the best downtown convenience stores.Anytime I'm in the need for a quick snack, I always head over to DT. Located in the back part of the SunTrust Plaza, DT is a local convenience store that provides a great variety of snacks and excellent service.I usually head over around lunchtime. DT actually has a little cafe inside that provides sandwiches and other cooked items. While I haven't tried any of them since I usually grab a soda and package of crackers (they have a fun selection of crackers, chips, and other quick foods), what usually gets me is the chocolate chip cookies! The owner makes them fresh and leaves them out on the counter for his customers to see and smell (excellent marketing right there). After I inevitably buy one, he rings me up and sends me a digital receipt (pretty cool for a mom & pop shop).Overall, DT is a great little local business that provides a great on-the-go experience. The friendly owner and awesome cookies set this place apart over your typical Walgreens or 7-11. If u are downtown and need a quick lunch, you should definitely check this place out.

There are few shops/eateries in any downtown city where you'll meet the business owner behind the counter. Fewer if you expect that person to be friendly, kind, and with an ever-present smile. However that friendly, hometown, happy you stopped by feeling is always present at DT. It's the perfect combination sandwich, lunch stop, convenience store. The sandwiches are always made right there in front of you, fresh, and delicious. Plus...you won't find a less expensive lunch spot anywhere downtown Orlando.

Nice little mom & pop cafe and convenience store in the heart of downtown Orlando. You can pick up lunch here, who knew this was a lunch spot? DT Cafe has a nice selection of things you need in a hurry, like drinks, drugstore items, Florida lotto tickets, greeting cards, and more. The owners are very funny and they are always baking toll house chocolate chip cookies in the afternoons. It makes their place smell amazing and irresistible. Great little store for lunch pickup or anything you need quickly.

Walked into this small business after stumbling upon it while travel blogging downtown. The owner of DT Cafe introduced himself after I finished a quick lunch of a simple sandwich which was really tasty. It was very reasonably priced. They have a variety of quick snacks, sandwiches, drinks, and everything you might need to refuel downtown. It faces Orange Ave just outside the SunTrust Lobby. New corporate competition is moving in soon. Either though it will be closed to the street, please consider DT Cafe for lunch. # small business http://m.downtownorlando.com/locations/dt-cafe/#.Vlh9scso5nE

I ordered a chicken caesar wrap and watched as they microwaved the chicken and bacon. The chicken wasn't real chicken, it was that fake cut up stuff you get in a bag. Very gross food. It was a one and done experience for me.
