Something about restaurants with outdated decor has some of the best food. I was not prepared for how tender, juicy, and flavorful my little steak was. I also ordered the grilled wings with hot sauce. I think they grilled the hot sauce on the wings and it is surprisingly good.

Apparently this restaurant is under new ownership; which made us kinda nervous heading in for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised that I don't think the food has changed at all, so that means everything was great! The staff was just as kind and attentive as always, so we will be back. This used to be one of my favorite places but I'm very disappointed in the changes the new owner has made and I am afraid I will never return. It started out small, with replacing the delicious homemade croutons with tasteless rocks. Then they refused to allow a couple to share a bogo happy hour drink, then they did away with top shelf happy hour on Tuesdays, but the final straw was the price on the menu said $7.49 but when the bill came, we were charged $8.99. We ordered 2, and while $3 isn't much, I felt they should honor the menu price. How hard is it to print a flyer and insert it into the menu with updated prices? Patrick, the manager, wasn't there so the kid waiting on us refused to adjust the price. Over 20 years of excellence undone by the new owner.

I have been passing this place for 20 years, but never stopped. Today I wanted a steak, and ordered to go. I had a sirloin that was cooked perfect, it came with a salad and a baked potato. This is an old school steak house like I remember as a kid. I had the Ceasar salad, it was fine, and the potato was as I expected. I would eat here again, and I imagine its better eating in. I am going to try all the local steakhouses over the next few months.

Service was pretty good, no silverware which I had to get up and go to the bar to get but other than that it was good. Other than getting the wrong food of course. The time it took to get past the bread course and actually get some food was terrible. Ever since the new owner took over, A large friendly man named Paddy the food quality has changed. The sausage stuffed mushrooms went way down hill. They are not prepared the same, the mushrooms were tiny and the sausage was not the same, tasteless and had a cheap bready texture. They use to be stuffed but now it comes like lasagna, layered, it was not good at all. The size of the salads we ordered were much smaller and the bacon they used also was not the same. Paddy the owner came over to all the tables and apologized for the delay but guess what, it wasn't that busy. He asked us to get with him if we were not happy, we asked for him but he never showed up, lol. We saw him at the bar talking to someone laughing and having a good old time. We skipped my favorite Italian place to come here instead, we all regretted the choice I made. This place use to be a 4 but now its barely a 1 to a 2. The young black host was quick and friendly and the waitress was the same but other than that we were very displeased with the experience. Not to mention they sat a drunk couple behind us where the woman was cussing like a sailor every other word. The kids were getting an ear full so I turned around and let them know the language and the volume had to change or I would have to become pro-active, lol. These people never should have been allowed in the place. 904-442-4533 is my number if you care to call though I wont hold my breath.

New ownership in place, food was good but the cocktails not so much, couldn't taste the alcohol which made me think they put a little booze and a lot of mixer in it...turns out I was right, all drinks are now measured with a jigger per the new manager. He trashed 2 former employees that were there for over 15 years and like family to us. Not a smart PR move on his part, thanks for the memories, so long Colorado's!
