We had driven past this place a few times & finally stopped in to give it a try. So glad we did. For a start, we loved the architecture of the building. It feels like a pub. I chose a mimosa for my drink, because why not, and it was one of the tastiest mimosas I have had in awhile. Just delicious. We both went for the fish & chips for our entrees. The fish was perfect and the portions are generous. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

The outside was cool. It'smy understanding it used to be a house. The wait staff was over the top nice and cordial. The inside decor could've had an upgrade. Bathrooms are clean. They did have cards to write and give your Valentine. Yes, we went on Valentine's Day. The chicken Sandwich was " alright". I ordered the mango habanero chicken tacos. Nothing spectacular. I was actually disappointed.Would I go back? Maybe. Our waitress did say that the fish and chips was a very popular item. Maybe if there's a next time I'll try that.

The scenery is phenomenal, almost as if in a movie. Mimosas are awesome although the orange juice isn't freshly squeezed. The champagne is Il Fevdo. Service is on point. Consistent attentiveness and food brought out in a timely manner.

COB & PEN IS A GATHERING PLACE FOR ALL TO ENJOY, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATE THEMSELVES IN THE ARTS OF CRAFT BEER, BOUTIQUE WINE, FINE FOOD, AND KEEPING GOOD COMPANY. LOCATED IN THE HISTORIC DIXIELAND NEIGHBORHOOD OF LAKELAND, JUST BLOCKS AWAY FROM DOWNTOWN LAKELAND.Had the pleasure of visiting Cobb and Pen in Lakeland and this place is such nice area to hang out with friends and family or perhaps on a date night. Last time I was here they were remodeling, so having to see how they remodeled the place makes the restaurant have a nice look to it.The Staff and Management were great host and made me feel welcomed. I tried out thier latest summer specials and this is what I had:1) Fried Green Tomato Caprese ( Recommend with Sauce)2) Creamy Corn Risotto- ( perhaps one the best comfort food you'll have- recommend with Shrimp)3) Blackened Beer Batttered Fish Tacos - (good tasting tacos, I would just say a littler over the tarter sauce, but other than that, nice plate) 4) Passionfruit Bourbon Smash Drink ( refreshing drink- I would just say, I wish it had a bit more taste of the Passionfruit, but other than that it's good drink )5) Banana Pudding Patta Cotta ( Nice desert to finish it off)

Everything on the menu seemed really overpriced but we ended up grabbing some garlic fries, a basket of regular fries, and the strawberry cobbler to share. I asked for the truffle mayo on the side instead of on the garlic fries because I am allergic. They put the truffle mayo in the basket with the regular fries, which I thought was ranch. I'm happy I was able to notice quick enough and not have a reaction! The strawberry cobbler was the star of the show. It was hot & ooey and gooey and oh so good. Service was just mid. I have never been to a restaurant like this one where all of the servers help all of the tables. In theory it seems it would work well but the problem was that all of the servers just assumed someone else already helped the customer and tables just kept getting looked over. I loved the atmosphere, though! It was the perfect noise volume. Unfortunately outside was closed because of a private event but it looked nice!

This place was okay. The service was incredibly slow unfortunately. We didn't see our serve a whole bunch. The food was pretty good, nothing spectacular unfortunately. Not a whole lot of options. There was an event happening (I think maybe a wedding reception or something) and I can definitely understand why. The building is really nice and I could see holding an event there.

I always come to Yelp when I'm in an area I am not familiar with. Hubby and I were in Lakeland today and on our way to play it again sports we drove past this cool old building. I looked up what it was and it was this place!! The reviews seemed pretty promising. So on our way out of town we stopped for a bite to eat. My husband ordered the patty melt. Now the fries are homemade! They were delicious!! He said he should have stopped after eating just half but he convinced on and ate the whole thing! He said it was one of the better patty melts he has had. I picked wings and a side salad. The salad was delicious and the wings cooked perfectly!! The ranch was freaking amazing, of course homemade. This place likes to make craft food and from scratch! Worth the trip!! I was happy to be able to read the history of this place on the website: HISTORYA little over a mile from it's current Dixieland location, The Tudor House was originally built in 1927 near the intersection between W Beacon Rd. and S San Gully Rd. In 1935, following one failed attempt, by a previous owner to move the home, Mr. O. Forrest McGill moved it to it's previous location on 1068 Lake Hollingsworth Rd. The Tudor House changed hands over the next few decades until Mr. Gene Holloway bought it in 1969. Through the years, various owners and renovations, the house came to look quite different than it does today. Mr. Holloway expanded on the building too; adding a garage, more bedrooms, bathrooms, an entertainment bar, and ball room. Primarily built to entertain business partners, and out of town guests, it is known that even Elvis spent some time in Mr. Holloway's mansion in the 1970's after a performance at the Lakeland Civic Center. Robert Mozingo, and his wife Madeline, purchased the home in 1987. Enamored by Gene's sense of style, especially the Arabian décor in the master bedroom, the socially active family also used the home to entertain guests. When it was purchased from the Mozingos in 2014, the new owners announced plans to replace the storied home with a new structure. Mr. Gregory Fancelli and a few others took action to save and relocate the original, historic portion of the building, known as The Tudor House. As we were getting to know Lakeland and looking at homes for our business, we came across The Tudor and Gregory. After a few discussions about our passion for community, storytelling, preservation, and how we believed the craft of food and drink has the power to unite us all, we became fast friends, and were blessed with the space and opportunity to collectively create Cob & Pen. We are excited our journeys have brought us together. We're excited to welcome everyone into our home where we hope you will take some time to look around, appreciate the craftsmanship and detail of our space, expand your palate as you experience our craft, and expect to enjoy time well spent, as welcomed guests, crafting your story in our home while we carry on The Tudor's tradition to entertain.

On our way to Orlando and decided to stop for brunch. Read good things about this place and we hadn't be through Lakeland in a while. Let's eat! So parking is a bit challenging but they have their own parking area behind and off to the side in a gravel lot. Seat yourself in multiple different areas. We grabbed a seat at the community high top to take in the atmosphere. Shelby our server came from behind the bar and took great care of us. We started with mimosas. Just had a glass but you can get a bottle and make your own. Also a bloody Mary bar. Fun! Short menu which I like. I decided on the smash burger. Really tasty and filling. Pickes were delicious. Burger had a great bite with everything combined. Deb had the grilled cheese and added bacon. Really good! Lots of bacon. Tomato soup on the side was tasty. The ambience is laid back and a local feel. Very nice.

Have you ever been to a casual restaurant that's just as fabulous on the outside as it is on the inside? It's been a minute I must say lol. Had an amazing meal on the patio because it felt amazing outside. Plenty of seating and lighting. Service was nice and patient because we were first timers so we had LOTS of questions. Food came out before I could finish my selfies girl! You can't top that! Parking is in the alley behind the restaurant. Did I mention it's free?!? Love that for all of us!

I had a great experience enjoying food and a fine selection of craft beers Cob & Pen last week. I wish I had taken more photos. The inside is definitely unique and worth a walk around to learn about the history of the building. They have seating at the bar, outside, large table in the main dining area and then smaller private rooms. I started with a unique beer that I had never seen anywhere before. With this I enjoyed the fish dip. This was just right as an appetizer, I am a big eater so I enjoyed the portions. And then I tried their house salad with chicken and bacon. They make their own Ranch dressing, so of course I went with that. I got a nice tip from the bar tender to add some buffalo sauce with the ranch. That sounds awesome. I also learned that they have a Pimento cheese and fried green tomato burger slider on slider nights, which is also the same night at trivia. That sounds like a fun night.I felt very welcomed and had some good beer conversations with other bar mates and staff. I look forward to checking out more of their menu!
