Coastal Del Mar - Seafood Grill

The food was awesome and the staff were amazing!!! I highly recommend!!! I had the blackened salmon and it was cooked a perfect medium rare!!!

We and our friends have wondered what has happened to this place, food wise. The decor, ambiance and most of the wait staff are still very nice, but the meals are not nearly as good as they used to be. Fish was greasy and skimpy in size and did not taste like the variety listed on the menu, the shrimp was much smaller and not cooked enough, almost raw. Ingredients for several dishes were not the same as before nor were the dishes prepared well overall. When we and our friends, who have happily dined together at Coastal Del Mar several times in the past, got together today after our last visit we were unanimous about not wanting to go to CDM again. And we certainly will no longer take our guests there in the future.We suspect there has been a change of kitchen staff and possibly a reduction in the level of quality foods we had come to expect at Coastal Del Mar, but until we hear the place has improved we will not be wasting our money there again. This is unfortunate in many ways, for the staff who work there as well as for customers like us who had come to rely on this restaurant's previous high quality and excellence.

Food is good, service is good. Ambience is good. The outside bar could use a second person, as it gets very busy and sometimes the wait for drinks can be long. Nice neighborhood bar.

Came for the afternoon soft shell crab sandwich and it did not disappoint!!! Yum!! Great Remoulade, great French fries and good beer selection. Mom had chili prawns and she loved them. Spicy and sweet. Service good. Atmosphere good - sat at bar. Came around 2 pm. Great value

Easily the best restaurant in The Villages. Was in town this week to visit family and headed here because I love seafood. Great location, enjoyed the outdoor seating which looks over the square activities. Bartender Christina was very helpful with recommendations for food and drink, John was very helpful and friendly as the Host.Enjoyed a few vodka drinks and some outstanding swordfish which was the feature of the evening. Will visit again when next time in town.

I've been to Coastal Del Mar several times. On this visit (Dec 2024), service was incredibly slow & food was not prepared well at all. My husband's fish was seriously undercooked. My sides were not what I ordered. Disappointed!

Whoever the bartender here is the best... We tried so many martinis and cocktails, and everyone was perfect and delicious... Everybody enjoyed their meal. It was pretty good considering that it was Valentine's Day and that kitchen has to really sling out a lot of meals in a short amount of time, be aware that the local fish of the day is always served with the skin on it, which totally disgusted mehowever, they were kind enough to trade them for something better. The service we receive was beyond over the top excellent excellent very nice venue.

We went to lunch with family we were visiting in Lady Lake. All of our meals were good! I had the trout with rice and carrots. It was cooked well--not as flavorful as I had wished--but good. My husband had the crabcakes and a loaded bake potato--he loved his meal!My father in law had the salmon eggs Benedict which he enjoyed. Shrimp grits for my mother in law and she highly recommended them. My daughter and her friend had the French toast and they cleaned their plates. The servings were ample enough although the crab cakes alone as an entree would not have been filling according to my husband. In all we recommend and will be back. Also: Yummy Bloody Marys

Coastal Del Mar is one of the best spots for lunch or dinner around Spanish Springs! Right in the heart of "historic" The Villages, you can get your fresh seafood fix any time. The sushi always taste fresh - my personal favorite is the Coastal Crab sushi roll! It has a great happy hour and plentiful parking for your car or golf cart!

We were passing through the area and found Coastal Del Mar online. We ordered the soft shell crab with roasted vegetables and grilled asparagus to go along added the Chantilly Cake and key lime pie. Two of us split the crab which was nice. There was a hint of spice but definitely not overwhelmingly spicy. The key lime pie was a big hit. You'll like it if you like a very tart key lime pie. The Chantilly cake was moist with a nice amount of fruit. Our meal was ready quickly which was just what we wanted. Coasta Del Mar has a terrific menu. Hopefully we will be back to explore more of it.
