It's basically a mall food court chicken sandwich place. After eating this you will be really sad that it wasn't Chick fil A instead... but it's not the worst option at Universal. If you want the novelty of eating at a "Simpsons" restaurant then go for it... but honestly the turkey leg at the Jurassic park area or the fish and chips at The Three Broomsticks/Leaky Cauldron would be better options

As an immersive exhibit showcasing everything Simpsons, this is 5 stars. As a restaurant serving quality food, this is only 1 star. Wait time is very long; just like the rides, you have to wait to be let in to order your food. Choices here are plenty since they combined krusty burger with cletus's chicken shack and the frying dutchman. But what's the point of choices when they all taste awful and overly salted? I suggest you go somewhere else to fuel up rather than throw your money down the trash here.

I think theme park food typically gets a bad rap, and Universal does have some decent food options with all that being said. Cletus' Chicken greatly brings down that GPA unfortunate to say. I am thoroughly horrified from the experience of eating here. The menu is simple, based on the name: they serve various plates and forms of chicken. Grilled chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, and a chicken and waffle sandwich. I was particularly excited to have the chicken & waffle. But, when we finally got up to order they said they were out of waffles. Let me also say that we came around 6, 6:30, so it was literally mid dinner rush. How can your primary dish be chicken and waffles, yet you "run out" of waffles when you're hardly even into the prime dinner hours? As we went along in line I heard the workers state that they were out of several other options beyond waffles too. What even?We were super hungry. That's the only reason I forced down and mostly finished my meal, and also because we paid far more than the food was worth, being it is a theme park. So, I got a grilled chicken sandwich, as that seemed an okay second option with them not having waffles. It makes my stomach hurt still to think of it. The chicken was extremely dry, like any more grilled and it would have been sandpaper. And yet, there were several parts where the chicken was STILL PINK. It wasn't cooked! My friend's grilled chicken was the same way! How do you have a piece of chicken that's way too dry in most parts and yet other parts aren't cooked all the way? What a disaster!I swear, I don't even want to know what's going on in that back kitchen. I have a feeling that if Gordon Ramsey filmed an episode of Kitchen Nightmares he'd really rip into some people and chuck everything in the garbage..So please, for your own health and safety, please just be weary of the chicken you get here, whether it be grilled, fried or other (at this point there may we'll be an "other" option with these guys, who knows?).

Time for lunch.... Springfield USA... Dohnutz? Some Buzz Beer? Nope, I hear the calling of fried chicken.... we got an order of hot wings (6 wings) and a chicken & waffle sandwich.First of lets talk about the restaurant, its not really a stand alone restaurant its a bunch of different counters that share a large cafeteria style mixed seating a combination of booths and tables. You get into the main line and when you get to the front of the line, you are asked which restaurant you want to order from... you tell them and they will direct you to that counter.I really suggest you bring your own wipes to clean off the table, I staff walking around, but they are not cleaning or wiping down tables. Diners will need to bus their own trays so I am not sure what the wandering staff is doing?OK now for the food: The Chicken Arms (Chicken wings) are 6 per order and comes with 2 pieces each of carrots and celery, along with a generous portion of tater tots. You can get it Buffalo style or BBQ. I selected the Buffalo. Its a traditional Buffalo saucing, but I don't think they used butter... there was something missing. Overall the wings were not bad. Tots were good, too bad they did not offer a side of ranch or bleu cheese dressing. The Chicken & Waffle sandwich was strange; the plus side is that the fried chicken breast was moist. They serve it with lettuce and tomato (its a sandwich after all). There is no syrup... they do have a sweetened mayo/sauce they put on. Its not the same... but its a sandwich, who puts syrup on their sandwich? OK, now the the part that I think is WRONG. The waffles... the photos on the menu board shows Belgian type waffles... you know borderless with really large valleys and crunchy. NOPE... they used frozen generic Eggo type waffles, a real let down...the worst part, it tasted like frozen waffles. It also came with a side of tater tots.Overall - pass unless you like to $2/wing, hot wings

Located in The Simpsons themed area of the park. Overpriced awful food. Disorganized lines. When it's busy, it's difficult to find a table. Universal Studios has some decent dining options, this isn't one of them. Skip this place. Food court style quick service with one central register to check out. Stand in line at each food counter to order your food, then pay at the register...then search for a table. It gets pretty congested and the lines move at a snail's pace. Mobile ordering is available. Food offerings include: grilled chicken sandwich with tots, chicken tenders, chicken wings, Mother Nature burger, chicken & waffle sandwich, hot dog, burgers, etc. It's a good place to get a cup of ice water (at the beverage counter) and it's close to the restrooms.

The novelty of Cletus' Chicken Shack is what makes it such a fun place to eat. It's is located inside of the food court at Simpson Land inside of Universal Studios Orlando. You can find it located right next to other novelty Simpsons locations from the beloved T.V. show such as Moe's Tavern, Krusty Burger, and the Kwik-E-Mart.Everything inside the food court is grab-and-go style so it's all comparable to fast food. Keeping that in mind the chicken and waffle sandwich combo with tater tots a "Buzz Cola" (Cherry Coke Zero) really hit the spot after walking around the park a few hours. Everything I had personally was fresh, and the maple aioli really set the sandwich off. Overall, I do recommend coming here at least once if you're a fan of The Simpsons and find yourself taking a trip to Universal Studios Orlando.

This place is inside the giant food court with all the different types of food from the Simpsons. Honestly, I don't even remember if this is from the show or just something that could be from the show but I'll look for it the next time we binge-watch the show. One of the benefits of this entire set up is that you can get your food all in one place and immediately sit down somewhere. But the best benefit now is that you can find a seat and order from the app. So as soon as a table opened up we snagged our seat and were able to check out the menu. Honestly, next time I'll probably order before we even get there so one of us can go get the food and the other can find a table. There's just no reason for us to stand in line forever waiting when we can order ahead. I came here because this place got me hooked on their chicken waffle sandwich. I am pretty sure I know why- it's the sauce! It also helps that they don't burn their chicken to a crisp like a lot of other places do. The chicken is cooked but soft. I used a fork and knife last time to cut it up but this time I ate it more like a sandwich. I also got curly fries this time instead of the tater tots and they were waaaaaay better. It was delicious and I'll be back again! Loved:- Chicken and Waffle Sandwich (extra sauce)Liked: - Curly FriesOk:- Tater Tots

The chicken tenders were not good at all. You could tell they were frozen and over breaded, with no flavor. Tater tots were good though. They were also very over priced for the quantity and quality. The bbq sauce was very strange, as well. I wish they offered ranch to for a dipping, not just bbq and honey mustard.

Pro tip: Order from the Universal app on your phone. You can see all the menu items very easily and save yourself a ton of time in line. This place fills up at lunch time so this will allow you to get back to the rides much faster. The only reason that this is getting two stars instead of one is because the curly fries were excellent, on par with Arby's or Hardee's. The Waffle Chicken Sandwich was a sad excuse for a waffle and a sandwich. The waffle was nowhere near brown and was barely yellow. The chicken was decent but a bit too thick to bite through in some places and lacked crispness. Don't even get me started on the sad piece of lettuce slapped on here, either. Also, the online ordering saves you time but the system is pretty awful. The app is supposed to tell you when it was ready but that never happened. They also call out your name and not your number so that's confusing as well. And the staff doesn't yell loud enough to be heard. Either delivering the food or using some screens with the order numbers would vastly improve this experience.

I LOVE the Simpsons we had to try Cletus' last year when we were at Universal. The whole area is like stepping into "The Simpsons" It was actually pretty yummy a year ago. We went back this year, and it was disappointing. The food was not nearly as good as it was. The guy behind the counter definitely looked like he was over his job.Probably won't go back the next time we hit the park.
