We hired Chef Eddie to provide food for our family of 23 during a Christmas vacation. While his customer service and ability to accommodate substitutions were commendable, the food quality unfortunately missed the mark. Chef Eddie delivered the food to our rental home on time, but we were deeply disappointed with the meal, especially given the cost.HamThe ham was not spiral-cut, making it difficult to serve in a rental kitchen. It was also topped with raisins, which is highly unusual for traditional Southern-style ham. The ham lacked flavor, but we were able to salvage it by removing the raisins and adding our own seasonings.Collard GreensThe greens were mushy and bland, resembling a pan of mush rather than the flavorful Southern dish we expected. Despite purchasing additional seasonings to try and enhance the flavor, we ultimately had to throw them away.Mac and CheeseThe noodles were overcooked and bland. Even with our attempts to doctor it up with cheese and seasonings, it was unsalvageable, and we had to discard the pan.Sweet PotatoesThe sweet potatoes had skins left in the dish, which was unexpected. While the flavor was passable, we added cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla to make them more enjoyable. This dish was just okay.Garlic Mashed PotatoesThe garlic flavor was overwhelmingly strong--even for garlic lovers--and the red skins were left on, which didn't align with our expectations. Despite adding cream and butter to tone down the garlic, we couldn't salvage this dish either and ended up discarding it.DessertsThe desserts were just okay--not terrible, but not memorable or on par with what we expected for a special holiday meal.TurkeyThe turkey was the most disappointing dish. It was undercooked and dried out at the same time. The fried turkey appeared to be two small turkeys tied together, which was odd and unappealing. We didn't feel comfortable serving or eating it.Additional ExpensesTo try and salvage the catered meal, we had to purchase additional food, seasonings, and ingredients from a local Dominican supermarket. We ended up preparing a semi-traditional Southern Christmas dinner ourselves, which was stressful and inconvenient given the circumstances.Final ThoughtsWhile Chef Eddie provided good customer service and accommodated our substitutions, the quality of the food fell far short of expectations. He also made no effort to rectify the situation after we expressed our concerns. For the price paid, we expected a professionally prepared meal and were left scrambling to fix or replace nearly every dish.We don't wish to harm anyone's business, but it's important to share our experience so others can make an informed decision. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Chef Eddie based on this experience.

Ok spot....A coworker and I went here for dinner the other night and after finding the spot we weren't impressed. The location was nice and in great spot in downtown Orlando. We found easy parking and once we made our way inside the place is really cool. Our server was nice and cordial. He told us what was on the menu - it was buffet style with one time up for one meat dinner, two meat dinner, or all you can eat. I chose the one meat. Dinner was ok and not that jaw dropping. Had water to wash it down. So I figured I'd take a chance and get the sweet potato pie - bad move. It tasted like it had been in the fridge all night. Just nothing.Would I come back - maybe. Nothing just didn't grab me. Sorry.

This is basically a small kitchen in a convenience store. The chicken is just as tasty here as the main location. I want to rate them 5 stars, but they need to pay attention to cleanliness. Normally I'd have walked right out based on what I saw. But the chicken is so good, and this location is much closer to home, I had to try it just once. That said, I'll stick to the main location. I shouldn't have an internal struggle over deciding whether or not to eat there. If they've cleaned up (literally) their act, I'll be happy to adjust my score.

I am really shocked and sad to write this review. I wish there was a way to give it 0 stars due to clear health code violations. This seedy place is located inside of a convenience store. NOTHING could have prepared me for what I saw once we were inside. There was a big, empty, portable ice cream freezer sitting near the small kitchen and preparation area and you could clearly see lots of roaches crawling around in it. I then turned my eyes to the man who was preparing the food and he was using a towel on the counter to kill roaches crawling on the counter. How this can happen, I have no idea. But I would never ever eat here and I recommend that you don't either. Even the chef was clearly agitated buy these roaches. After he killed them he just balled the towel up on the counter and walked away, roach guts and all...appalling!

What an amazing lunch! We started with the crab cake and coconut shrimp appetizer and a bottle of moscato. When the oxtails with macaroni and cheese and collard greens came out, the presentation was fantastic! It smelled and looked wonderful and tasted like heaven. Just enough seasoning...perfection! Service was efficient; Mike was attentive and friendly. Worth every penny.

I think the owner of this establishment clearly does not understand The meaning of the word buffet!!! The food seem as if it was left out for hours, and the turkey wing had a funny smell.

I went to check this place out because of a recent write up in the Orlando Sentinel. It's been hard finding some good chicken and waffles in town. I have never been so disappointed and disgusted by a company. A homeless gentleman was walking down the sidewalk not bugging anyone, not asking for money. I, being a humanitarian of sorts, asked this man to sit with me and have brunch on me and to feel free to order anything he wants. The owner came running outside screaming demanding he leave and stated they don't feed homeless there. Disgusted by her attitude, I informed her I was a first time guest and merely offered the gentleman a seat and assured her I was not approached by him. She proceeded to speak extremely vulgar and negative of the entire homeless community. The gentleman tried to defend himself and stated he had been off work for 1 month and is almost back to being able to be financially stable again. The owner was extremely loud and cut him off and pretty much stated he was worthless and a poison to society. I plan to protest this place with my group of friends who work with the homeless in Orlando as this was no way to treat a human being. I would never eat here again and I encourage everyone to do the same. The server was the best thing about the place, however, I would never support a business owned by a bigot filled with so much hate that she would literally scream at a first time guest and be unable to control her self. She had to be walked away by the chef himself. She's lucky I didn't record it or it would have gone viral. It was absolutely disgusting.

I'm not sure what this restaurant doesn't have more great reviews but I was impressed with the service. My family and I planned a trip to Florida. We knew that we wanted a southern cuisine so I reached out to Chef Eddie. From the beginning when I spoke to Chef Eddie himself I knew he was about business. He was prompt with responding, making suggestions that would be more economical for our pockets ( that was a plus) and kept the lines of communication Open. We ordered baked chicken, shrimp & grits, rice pilaf, string beans, potato salad, peach cobbler, cabbage, ribs ( they brought this special sauce y'all.. OMG) and more. The shrimp & grits didn't stand a chance! AllOf the food was Delicious! Oh did I mention we got delivery service and they came 30 minutes early?! Wow!!Please go and support this black owned business! Tell them Ms.Thompson sent you!!
