I tend to rate fairly high, and now I see the error of my ways.Chayote was truly superb and has reset the bar for all future dining spots.Hospitality was gracious, and the ambiance was simple, yet elegant without feeling pretentious.Tiana provided stellar service. When she welcomed us as her "guests," it set the stage. My Manhattan and my husband's Fashionista were perfect for sipping, as we perused the menu. The coconut shrimp croquetas were delicious. I expected them to be somewhat dry on the interior, and it was a delightful surprise to find they were more creamy in texture, with the coating crispy, but not hard. My husband didn't leave a speck of his beef short rib, nor I with the octopus. Even the side of asparagus was perfectly cooked to tender-crisp.We were too full to eat dessert there, so we took the tres leches cake to go. Even the next day, it was delightful. My only regret is that we waited so long to try Chayote. It will definitely be on our go-to list from now on.

I was super excited to try this place in Winter Park. The decor was beautiful and the bar was wonderful. Our bartender was great and madeThe most delicious cocktails! The Hugo was myJam and I very much enjoyed it. We came and enjoyed the happy hour menu and thought the Tuna Tartare was the star of the show. Also, the croquetas were yummy. I know that they just opened and are still working through the menu, so I am excited to see this place establish itself. However, I really enjoyed coming here and I fully intend on returning and exploring more items on the menu.

Chayote is such a cute and elegant spot, perfect for a cozy night out. It's not a very big restaurant, which adds to its intimate charm. We went for a double date night and had a wonderful time.We had a 7 PM reservation and were seated immediately, which was a great start. Our waitress was pretty good, attentive but not overbearing. For appetizers, we tried the tartare and the choripán. While both were delicious, the portions were quite small. With that said, the flavors were definitely worth it.For the main course, I had the churrasco. It was really good, but a bit chewy, even though I ordered it medium. However, the mashed potatoes on the side were absolutely amazing. My husband went with the chuletón, which he really enjoyed. We finished off with dessert and tried the tres leches and the chocolate torta. The tres leches was good, but the chocolate torta was absolutely amazing! If you're a chocolate lover, this is a must-try.Overall, the food was very good, but it is on the pricier side. The portions are just enough not overly generous, but satisfying.

I have been waiting so long to eat here, and as lovers of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, my husband and I were beyond excited to finally experience it. We travel to Puerto Rico often, so when we learned that the chef also has a restaurant there, we immediately added it to our must-visit list! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. It's clear that they know how to hire and train their team because every staff member we encountered was professional, warm, and attentive. We had our few-month-old baby with us, and they went above and beyond to accommodate us, which we truly appreciated.I called ahead to make a last-minute reservation, and I believe the hostess's name was Lauren--she took such great care of us, ensuring we had a table despite the short notice. Our server (I believe her name was Melissa, though I'm sad I can't remember for sure) was an absolute doll. She was attentive, friendly, and made fantastic recommendations. We were sat by a kind woman who identified as one of the managers. As for the food, it was overall creative and well-executed. The appetizer was delicious, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his entrée--I tried it as well, and it was great! However, the one and only downfall of our experience was my chicken entrée. Unfortunately, it was incredibly salty--far beyond what is typical for Puerto Rican cuisine, which we know can lean salty but is usually well-balanced. I love a well-seasoned dish, but this was excessive to the point of being inedible. It genuinely felt like a mistake, as if the salt shaker had been used a little too generously. Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy my meal due to the level of salt.Because our server was so sweet, approachable, and attentive, I mentioned it to her, and she immediately offered to replace my meal. However, I'm not the type to send food back, so I declined. That said, I was disappointed that I wasn't able to have a fulfilling meal for myself.Despite this one hiccup, we do hope to return and try something different from the menu. The overall experience, service, and atmosphere were wonderful--it's just unfortunate that my dish missed the mark this time.

Wow!!! This was an outstanding upscale Latin influence restaurant you don't want to miss. We were pleasingly greeted and shown to the bar. The place was filled with the sounds of Latin music which was a great vibe and placed us in a fun going mood. We went for happy hour and ordered a few things on the menu. All were delicious, good portions, great presentation and outstanding taste. This is a great date night, girls night or just a great place for good food and fun. Our server Lindsey made the experience even better. She was attentive, made great mojitos and made great recommendations. I can't wait to go back for dinner.

What an incredible experience! My friend and I came in for dinner after our original plans fell through, and I'm so glad things worked out this way. This meal was unforgettable! We started with two appetizers: * Stone Crab: Fresh, sweet, and perfect on its own I didn't even need the mustard sauce. * Octopus (Pulpo): So flavorful and tender absolutely delicious. For our entrées, we tried: * Black Chilean Sea Bass with truffled yuca mousse and port foie grad, bursting with flavor. * Whole Snapper (a special that evening): Perfectly seasoned and really good I also had a drink (the name escapes me), it had Lychee, so they had me there;)The service was really good, I would've given it 5 stars also if we didn't feel a bit rushed at the end. They were probably getting busy and wanted the table at that point.I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend this spot for an exceptional dining experience!

To start, the ambiance of this restaurant is elegant, the music, enchanting. Service is impeccable, from the hostess to the servers and the bar tenders. They treat you as if you were someone special. This is our first visit here and unfortunately we dined before coming here, so we will be back very soon for dinner and I will do a review on the food then. This wonderful restaurant is very classy!

I had such a great experience at Chayote! We came for happy hour (Tuesday to Sunday, 4-7 pm) and hoped to grab some bar seating, but unfortunately, it was full. However, the gentleman at the front was super accommodating and offered us seating in the lounge area next to the bar, even moving a few chairs around so my group of three could fit comfortably. After a while, we decided against sitting at the bar and asked if we could sit outside, and they happily said yes, which was awesome because outdoor seating is included in the happy hour. It was a bit chilly, so I asked if they could turn on the warmers, and they placed us right in the middle of two of them. They were very accommodating and considerate! Everything was absolutely delicious. I started with a Hugo spritz (so refreshing!) and we ordered the happy hour bites, which are available as a set for $32 instead of individually--such a good deal. We also tried the costilla nachos, lubina ahumada, and finished with the tres leches for dessert. The service was top-notch (we really liked our server, Madison), the vibe and aesthetic of the place were gorgeous, and the food was fantastic. I can't wait to come back!

Chayote has quickly become one of my absolute favorite upscale restaurants! The quality of both the food and service is unmatched, and it's consistently an incredible dining experience. The ambiance is just as charming - it's the perfect spot to dress up and enjoy a drink or a delicious dinner. The food never disappoints! Their happy hour is a must-try, running Monday through Thursday from 4-6 pm. You can get all 4 of their appetizers on the happy hour menu for just $32, which is the perfect amount to share with friends. Every dish is a winner, but the tuna tartare is a standout. If you're a fan of ahi tuna, you have to try it.Another favorite of mine were the croquetas. They put a unique twist on it, and they were absolutely delicious! Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. Whether you're there for a casual drink or a special occasion dinner, Chayote never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Chayote was highly recommended and I'm so happy I was finally able to try them! This was a 10/10 experience from the drinks, the food, the ambiance and the service! I cannot remember the name of my drink but it was suggested by our waiter and it was very good. For appetizers we got the crab cake and chorizo sliders, neither dish disappointed! The crab cake had an amazing crunch and flavor. It paired extremely well with the fruit on top as well as with the sauce. The sliders with the melted provolone was chef's kiss. Our entrees were soooo good and two of the restaurants most popular dishes! My friend had the sea bass which was really good. What surprised me was the yuca mousse, I could not believe how good it was! I love a good short rib and this one was extremely tender and flavorful. Even the carrots were good! The shallot rings added a special touch to the dish that I truly appreciated. Lastly, we tried the Chocolate Torta for dessert. I'm not a huge chocolate fan but it was really good. The flavored ice cream made the dish for sure stand out. Our waiter was knowledgable of the menu, suggested great items and was extremely kind. I would 100% go to Chayote again. I cannot wait actually and I would recommend this place a 1,000 times! Please do yourself a favor and try it!
