Idk why there's such low/bad reviews. My guess is the wait time when it's peak season. My boyfriend and I stopped on for lunch. I had chicken tenders and fries because I'm a child and my boyfriend had a bacon cheeseburger with fries. We also shared onion rings. Everything was great. I really liked the batter on the onion rings. My boyfriend said he liked the seasoning on his fries. He also said he liked the way his burger was cooked. My only negative was that refills on drinks weren't allowed.

A fun stop to stop in, take photos and enjoy the fun Captain America decor. It pretty much stops there. Food is incredibly expensive, which we expected. That said, at least let it be good. We didn't even finish the burgers and the chicken sandwich was so insanely dry...bluck. The fries were okay . As far as service that was pretty much non existent. You are better off just enjoying a giant donut over at the Simpson area. Or hitting one of the outdoor food stands.

We needed to eat something at Islands of Adventure so we stopped here. I have Celiac Disease and my boyfriend has wheat and dairy allergies. The good thing is that their fryer for the fries is designed gluten free so they were safe. When we told them we had allergies they sent someone out to talk to us but he seemed super confused when I asked him about how they prepare the burgers and what the risks are of cross contamination. It took a long time, then after we paid, someone else came out to ask us about our allergies. That made me nervous. I declined the burger and just had just fries because I didn't want to get sick and have to leave the park. My boyfriend said the gluten free bun was soft and fluffy and better than the one at Disney the day before. They have a comic Captain America/Marvel fast food ambiance. It's family friendly but expensive to feed a family here. The worst thing was that they had a Coke product fountain and they charge $6 for what is usually a medium sized cup. I misread the menu and didn't realize that you can only fill it once while you are eating there (there is actually a sensor on the cup that won't let you fill it again). Don't get ice and fill it all the way!! The one cup of soda for $6 just felt like they were gouging us, especially after everything else we paid to go on the vacation. Between the soda and the allergy confusion I can't recommend this restaurant.

Had lunch here and it was a mixed bag. Ordered a salad and a chicken finger meal. Salad was actually good. Chicken fingers and fry plate was sub par. Tough chicken and cold fries. Should have returned it but we were in a bit of a hurry. Used mobile order as required and it was a pain in the a$$. My guess is most anywhere is better than this in IOA.

If you love Marvel and Superhero's, you'll really enjoy the Captain America Diner. It's located in the Superhero section within Islands of Adventure. We ended up stopping by the Captain America Diner one evening for dinner during our visit at Universal Studios. Captain America Diner is directly across from the Spiderman ride. As soon as you enter, you'll be within a circular room that branches off into a variety of different other rooms that consist of table seating. If you look directly above you, you'll notice a lot of Superhero decorations, such as Captain America. Above the soda machine, you'll notice Scarlet Witch. Other Superhero's you'll see on the walls and ceilings as you visit the Captain America Diner include Falcon, Ant Man, vision, Beast and much more! The food is American food consisting of Hamburgers, Chicken Tenders, Chicken Sandwiches, French Fries, and Onion Rings. You can also get milkshakes at Captain America Diner. We ended up ordering the Chicken Tenders and French Fries with 3 cups of water. We didn't even wait a minute as our name was called. We sat towards the restrooms inside the Captain America Diner. Several tables, even though the restaurant was mostly empty, were dirty. It took us searching to fine a clean table. The Chicken Tenders were fried and seasoned decently. The French Fries were a little soggy. My daughter enjoyed it and ate all of it for dinner. The price was approximately $20.00 for the the entire order though, a little pricey.

Captain America diner is one of the best hidden secrets at Universal. It doesn't really stand out, but it easily boasts the best view/ seating area of all the parks! It's seriously so gorgeous- there's a wide circular room adorned with windows for viewing the giant pond in the center of the park, as well as outdoor seating wrapping around the back of the restaurant. You truly can't get better than this spot.As for the overall, I give 4 stars far more to the setup than the actual food and service. Classically, Captain America Diner serves up your basic American food. It's okay but it's definitely nothing to holler over. But the decorations and details in here immediately set off my nerd alert alarm, and I went into full haywire mode of fangirling. It's like a comic book heaven. Famous heros make appearances all over the restaurant on the walls and ceilings- Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, She Hulk, Falcon, Ant Man, Vision, Beast, and of course Mr. America himself (those are maybe a third of all the actual characters you can find). Almost as many infamous villains too. My first time in here I had to just take a few walks around to admire all that was there. And that's why I'll come back to this diner: for the details and the view (that's America's a**!)

This place is a disaster. You order at the table so nobody has to deal with you, then they don't recognize your order so you have to show them receipts to get it made. 20+ $ a piece to beg for food
