Calogero’s Pizzeria

Stopped in on a referral when looking for good pizza. It was a Friday so the special was meatballs with ricotta and red sauce, so of course we had to add them to our plain pizza order. The gentleman at the counter could not have been more pleasant. Some house wine, americano coffees while we waited. They brought out the trio of meatballs which were outstanding. Then the moment of truth. A thin crust cheese pie arrived, plenty for two, which was equally delicious. Look forward to returning soon to try another homeade pie and special. I love how the restaurant is in the old historical building of Lake Alfred because you feel like you're actually dining in Italy. The food was made fresh and delicious! The desserts were amazing! I'd go just for the chocolate cake.

My wife and I recently moved down the street in Lake Alfred and couldn't be happier to have found such a hidden gem. Upon entering the parking lot of Calogero's it's very unassuming, you walk past a few guys throwing pizzas and getting prep work done in a separate building from the main dining area split by an outdoor seating area. Inside or outside you're about to have one of the finest traditional pizzas you've ever had. The front of the house makes his way through to deliver the menus and ask that you order at the counter when you're ready. I've been here four times now and never had a bad experience. I've tried the Quattro Formagi, the Margherita, the Prosciutto, the Bianca, the Macellaio, and many of the sides. The food is delicious, the pizza? Zero flop undercarriage with fresh ingredients that's always delivered piping hot. 5/5 for the kindness and consistency that Calogero's delivers.

Loved everything! Hot honey and pepperoni pizzas were amazing and enjoyed starting with the antipasto salad. Quality ingredients.

Another snow season wrapped up with several great meals at calogeros. The place gets better every year. New umbrellas and more options. If you make it on a Sunday, try the meatballs but otherwise the wings are always a good treat too. For dessert, try a piece of orange sunshine cake. The service is very good. They can get busy so patience may be needed. Once you know what you want to eat just go to the counter to order. This is a great atmosphere for bring a date or a family dinner. Always a good time with great food.

Two separate places here and two separate entrances. One a eat-in and the other a takeout. They have seating outside out back which is nice. Atmosphere inside is unique and cozy. Staff was quiet but nice. Pizza was very good and authentic but eat it quick, don't let it sit around for long or it won't taste as good. Cheese and crust won't be nearly as good when it cools off. My last piece of the pie was not nearly as good as the first. It's important they bring it out fresh and hot quickly. I would prefer it if they had more pie options, maybe another unique item or two added. Sizes imo are on the small side. I wish they were bigger for the price but I understand that this is more authentic than the standard pizza chains. Drinks are not my cup of tea. I'd like a more personal feel of glasses rather than the on-the-go cans or bottles that we got. It doesn't jive with everything else going on there. Overall a unique place in the area and imo better than the other nearby so I will be back for another visit.

Got to go back today after months and yup, still perfect. Cant believe this place in a small Florida town. It has precision food, attentive service and great ambiance. It would slay in any massive city but we're lucky to somehow have this gem in central Fl! The only thing is I wish they carried some kind of sparkling water!

The pizza and chicken wings were outstanding. The service was very attentive and fast. It's a small family owned business. A gem. Would definitely recommend it!!

Great place for delicious authentic pizzas. I ordered the Artichoke pie. And it was amazing. It is made with artichokes, mozzarella, fontina & truffle oil. My friend ordered a calzone made with ricotta, fontina, mozzarella & parmesan. She said it was the best calzone she'd ever eaten. The food is prepared in a building adjacent to the restaurant but still arrives piping hot. I recommend this place for your pizza needs and intend to return again & again to try every item on the menu.

Went there on my daughters recommendation.Very good experience.The coffee super delicious!I had the meat lovers pie, my daughter the hot honey pizza, very good.Fresh crisp Caesars salad!Folks, it's very good!
