The servers here are all fantastic. Very attentive for a breakfast buffet. I stopped twice and both times was impressed wjth them. The food spread is nice with fruits, bagel, salmon and omlette station. The over all taste is decent but not exceptional. Overall great option for hotel breakfast buffet at about 20$

The only good thing about this place is the service. The servers are polite and attentive. The food? The pancakes were crunchy and cold, the scrambled eggs were wet and lukewarm, and the bacon was room temperature. The orange juice tasted watered down. Not impressed with anything at the Rosen Plaza so far. I'd been better off buying a cereal cup from the shop.

Updated and added a star. Love that you get a free buffet breakfast for 2 when you book their fall package. The buffet items were all fresh and replenished promptly to keep up with the bustling morning eaters. This time there were real plates and silverware. We had a very attentive server. He was always there when we needed him. The omelet bar was back and that was awesome. There were so many options to build your omelet with. The scrambled eggs were a weird texture. A combination of chewy and crunchy? We Loved the yogurt with many toppings-fresh fruit or make a full on parfait! The fresh oatmeal was good as well and had many things you could add to it. The regular coffee wasn't the best I've had but it was drinkable. Maybe I'll try one of their specialty coffees tomorrow. My all time fave part of the buffet is building my own bagel with lox, cream cheese, red onions, capers, and tomato. They let me carry that back to the room as well as a coke to go! Super cool! Will add more buffet pics tomorrow. Was too hungry.

Meh... marginal at best. The scrambled eggs were weird... Like those powdered eggs. The pork sausage was weird to me as well. Even their biscuit gravy was unusual...salty with a strange flavor undertone that I can't describe. I can't say I cared for any of it except for the coffee... The coffee was good because that is pretty hard to screw up. They also had some yogurt and granola with fresh fruit which was good. They had an omelette station, which might've been quite good, but unfortunately, I did not see it until I already had a plate loaded up with the powdered scrambled eggs and other items described above. When the server seats you, it would be helpful if they briefly gave you a 10 second orientation of items available before you get up and start looking around so you won't miss the omelette station - which is kind of hidden at the end of one of the serving stations. They slipped-in an 18% "service charge" on the bill that they didn't tell me about. If you are a normal tipper... You might inadvertently miss that - and end up paying 40% (if you are a 20% tipper). I don't mind them adding that in principle, because there are a lot of foreign tourists that are not used to tipping that come to see Mickey Mouse... So the servers would suffer as a result, but since that goes contrary to convention in the United States, it is critical to tell your customers that there is already an 18% gratuity (or service charge or whatever you want to call it) added to the bill. I was a party of one. I usually tip 20 to 25%, but whenever I catch a place slipping in a service charge, they don't tell me about, I don't give them one penny more than what they have charged me, so it ended up cost costing them what would've been a larger gratuity.

This was a great breakfast buffet. Our server, Brahim, was extremely attentive to refilling our coffee and juice and removing dirty plates in case we wanted to go back to the buffet and get a fresh plate. The food was great. From the crispy bacon to the made to order omelet. There was a great variety of breakfast food. Ignore those old negative reviews on here, clearly they listened to the feedback and are doing it right now. We will come back.

Ok this place had decent buffet selections, most were fresh. The omelet station was very nice and the fruit selection was great. The issues were coffee was very weak, the price was 13.95 including beverage not a bad price but they don't tell you tip is added no matter how many people are eating I think 18% is a little much for buffetDo yourself a favor there is a quick serve grill next door that is much cheaper and looked good.

We were staying at the Rosen for Christmas, which offered us two breakfast vouchers for each day we were there. I paid full price ($13.99) both days for my meal, while my parents got in free.During peak breakfast hours, which seems to be... all morning when it comes to the holiday season, the place can get a little hectic. The server assigned to your section can be a little hard to find. So make sure you make a list of everything you need so once you DO flag down the server, you can get what you need.My parents were SO impressed with the spread. Everything from smoked salmon to an omelet bar to the usual hot breakfast offerings to fresh fruit... basically anything I can think of. Overall, this is definitely one of the better hotel breakfasts I've had, even though it wasn't completely free. It's convenient and a lot of pretty good food!

We were attending a trade show at the Orange County Convention Center, were hungry for lunch but wanted to forego the usual convention center food and also needed to talk about some business items while we ate. We walked to the nearby Rosen Plaza Hotel and found Cafe Matisse. They were offering a lunch buffet, but from where we sat it didn't look terribly extensive, so we all ordered from the regular menu. Aside from the buffet, their lunch menu itself is pretty varied. Service was a bit on the slow side, but in the end we were able to order our food, discuss everything we needed to take care of and head back to the convention within an hour.I ordered the open faced prime rib sandwich, but when it arrived it was a bit more than I'd expected. It was a full-sized cut of prime rib, probably 10 oz., placed atop an open, white hoagie-style bun and drizzled with horseradish sauce. It was served with fries, lettuce and tomato on the side. To be honest, I started to laugh a little, because this open faced sandwich did not resemble any kind of sandwich, open faced or otherwise, that I'd ever seen. This was also not a typical lunch portion, this was a full-sized meal and a half. Anyway, I got through it and it was very tasty! In all, I'd recommend this place to convetion attendees. It's not really a far walk from the convention center, and on this day we'd checked the restaurant at the Peabody hotel and while that place was packed and had a 45 minute wait for a table, we went here to Matisse, walked in and were seated immediately. Also, the price was fine for what it was. Even with the huge slab of prime rib I was served, my sandwich and fries was only $9.95 which is more than reasonable.
