MAC'd OUT

Chris A. "I came out to the Plant Street Market recently, to see what all the hype was all about. Some places are so over-hyped, but this place was not one of those place. The Market was absolutely appropriately hyped. The quantity and quality of the food stalls within were banging. One of those stalls I stopped at was this place, MAC'd OUT. Build your own mac 'n' cheese? These opportunities don't come around very often. I had to take advantage. There are a few curated macs that sounded pretty good, but I like personally being able to customize, so I dove in to the surprisingly affordable ala carte options. I don't remember exactly what I got, but I do know that chicken breast and caramelized onions were involved. Either way, they loaded up the tray, passed it through the rolling oven thing, and served it to me. The portion size of this thing was shocking. I'm not complaining. Just be forewarned. You should share this thing with one or two other people. So much tender chicken, so many perfectly cooked noodles, all smothered with that classic colored cheese you've been eating since you were a kid, and topped with slightly charred bread crumbs that added the perfect texture to this dish. This place, and the associated Chicago Stop, seemed to have employed young folk that couldn't get off their phones for longer than 15 seconds at a time. Must have been a good TikTok they were watching. Again, not a detractor for me. Just don't expect pleasant customer service. If you like mac 'n' cheese, and the people out there who are mac fans are True mac fans, you will love this place. Come here. I'll be back."

Tacos El Michoacano

Tacos El Michoacano

John M. "Tacos El Michoano is a small food stand located in the OBT Flea Market. What drew me in was the spit of pork and pineapple sitting proudly upon a table. I knew that I had to try that. I walked up and placed my order and at the direction of the friendly man manning the grill (actually a Blackstone griddle), I headed over to a table that had onion, cilantro, red chile sauce and green chile sauce. I loaded up my taco and grabbed a seat. This taco was spectacular. I would say that it stands apart from so many tacos that I have tried that have fallen short. This taco is a king among tacos, a wondrous culinary find.If you are looking for a great taco el pastor, look no farther. This was also only two dollars. The only downside is that this flea market is only open on weekends.I would definitely recommend this place. Do not be put off that it is in a sketchy flea market and looks a bit sketchy itself. I have always maintained that the best tacos come from the most humble of surroundings. This taco is proof positive that this belief that I hold is true."

If you feel like seafood, this is the place for you. It might seem a little scary getting fast food seafood in the food court at a theme park, but it's all deep fried so it's pretty safe. You can have shrimp, calamari, battered fish or clam chowder here. Baskets come with tater tots, hushpuppies and tarter sauce ranging in price from $4 for the soup up to $14 for a combo basket. It's all deep fried but most of it seems fresh and tasty! Not a bad option if you're in the mood."

We stopped by their tent at the Winter Garden Farmers Market a few weeks back and they have delicious coffee and drinks. My husband had a mango lemon Palmer made with black tea and I had an iced espresso blend with caramel and oat milk. The iced coffee was the best that I've had around this area. I used to be a multiple cups of coffee a day person but now I only drink it a couple times a month and this iced coffee may be the catalyst to get me to drinking coffee more often! This is going to be my go to coffee when I'm at the farmers market."

Kay Y. "This To-Go stand on the boardwalk is very convenient for those wishing to grab a quick snack or something to nibble on before heading to the park without having to bare with table side service. (Although even for lunch, many of those restaurants are closed for service and won't open until 5:30 PM, except for those quick service like the sweets or bakery place and ESPN). The food they have here is like your typical americana boardwalk fare: think hot dogs, chicken sandwich, or fries. We weren't so hungry so we quickly scanned the menu and decided on mozzerella sticks (~$5) and nachos with cheese (~5). The mozzerella sticks were hot and crispy coming right from the fryer and served up with some marinara sauce. The nachos were okay, crispy and cheese sauce was drizzled over it. If I am considering the prices of these orders, than its pretty cheap consider a soda inside Disney is like 2 something. Those that wishing to get full, could. They would just need to order the burgers or sandwich combos which ranges from 8-10 dollars. If the time is right and you're walking around or staying at Boardwalk, then visit here for the no frills ordering and quick service offered here. TIP: If you want just regular ole tap water from here, they will tell you that they charge $.50, HOWEVER, the kind attendant told us to just go into the Sweet shop and they will gladly provide water for gratis (FREE!)."

We stopped here during the very Merry Christmas party to purchase their featured dessert-the gingerbread cookie cake. Place has a western theme vibe about it.Outdoor seating is available. The cake I could tell had been frozen all day and was thawing out for the evening's festivities. The cake was extremely light and moist. The gingerbread man piece on top is not actually made of gingerbread but was a piece of white chocolate made to look like one.It was very tasty and one of my favorite desserts at the party. Wish they would have this thing year round. Was truly worth going the distance to grab this goodie!"

Faith Arts Village Orlando is an old motel that Park Lake Presbyterian has turned into a complex for local artists. Travelling Gourmet was the first of several food trucks on the scene. I got an order of the portobello mushroom lettuce wraps that came with a little side of black beans and rice. It was delicious. While they were putting together my order, they let me sample the key lime pie dessert like Jessica V. described. It was really good. The people working the truck were friendly and the food came out fast. I can't wait to see them around town again and try some of the other menu items."

The Gnarly Cuban

Travis J. "This is one of the best pop-ups in the city of Orlando! The Gnarly girls make the best empanadas around, and have options for the savory, and sweet, such as their new Ube flan! For Vegans they have the jackfruit ropa vieja which tasted great with their garlic sauce! They recently started with tamales, and they were selling those quickly. I went with two empanadas each, and my favorites were their signature gnarly Cuban empanada, the chop , and ube flan. The Gnarly Cuban is a Cuban sandwich stuffed in an empanada, and has as much flavor as a Cuban sandwich! The chop, had ground beef with swiss cheese, and onions. I also took some of their guava and cream cheese pastries, and these are a MUST to grab! If you're familiar with The Gnarly Cuba, but can't make a pop-up, head over to their website, and make an order to be delivered to you on Mondays!Make sure you follow their Instagram to find their pop-ups every month, and get gnarly!"

Michael A. "From The Blind Side: "You can go to the gas station and get best barbecue." This quote was certainly proven true in Leesburg by Front Line!Tucked in the parking lot of a Sunoco station is the best barbecue chicken I've ever had. The chicken was so juicy with an amazing smoke taste. Front Line offered three sauces that we're really good, but the chicken was so fantastic I found myself foregoing the sauce for half of it.My wife had a pulled pork sandwich. I am NOT a fan of pulled pork. I find it usually has a dry feel to the meat and can be stringy. Not here! Again, the meat was incredibly moist and juicy and was extremely tender without being mealy. I also enjoyed the collard greens a lit. The were very well cooked so that they were soft but still kept their flavor. The baked beans and green beans were okay, but not as special as the collards or the meats. But let's face it, when you're going for barbecue shouldn't the meat be the star anyway.Prices were very reasonable and the service was super friendly and very efficient. For the second week in business they really had a good system, none of the bugs you often get with a new business trying to figure it out.Good luck Front Line! Keep up what you're doing and you'll have a great future."

Colin D. "Perfectly serviceable grilled chicken sandwich, burger and kids' chicken strips. This would probably be a 3-star meal outside Disney parks, but inside where the food is expensive and mediocre, it gets a one-star boost. We were here for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and needed some dinner and were nearby. The ordering process was pretty hectic with long lines and then rushed ordering, but we still got what we needed. The oddest part was that you had to ask for lettuce, pickles and tomatoes at the counter when you pick up your food, but the rest of your stuff you got at a condiments counter. The person I ordered from told me this, but otherwise I would have been totally lost. They also seemed a bit surprised when I asked for veggies. Maybe most people at Disney parks don't want veggies. The actual burger and chicken were pretty good. A step above McDonald's and maybe on par with other, slightly better chains. The French fries were good, but didn't stand out. We got lucky and found a table for four opening just as we sat down, but there's pretty limited seating if you're there at any kind of rush time."

Anna L. "Wow, wow, WOW! I have been following along with Eggdose on IG for awhile now, hoping to catch one of their local pop-ups. These are some of the most beautiful breakfast egg sandwiches I have ever seen and I've been drooling over their photos for months. This morning I had to run an errand downtown and decided to cut through some of the roads in the Thornton Park neighborhood to get back home. I just happened to drive by Sunset Bodega located on the corner of S. Eola and Jackson St. and saw that Eggdose was popped up outside. The way I hit the brakes and skirrrrrrted down a side street to park immediately lol.I checked their IG stories and saw they were currently serving until 1pm with the menu that was available, so I hopped out to order some sandwiches for me & my husband. There were two friendly gentlemen preparing the food and they kindly greeted me and instructed me to place my order on their kiosk/iPad ordering system. It was super quick and easy and I like how this method allows them to continue focusing on the food preparation instead of having to take orders. While I was waiting for my food, I went inside Sunset Bodega to grab a coffee and was surprised to find such a cute little corner market inside. I learned that Eggdose is popped up there every Thurs/Fri, then they're at the Winter Garden Farmer's Market on Saturdays and the Orlando Farmer's Market at Lake Eola on Sundays. My order took about 10 minutes and they handed me a fancy yellow box with my sandwiches inside. I must say that their branding & packaging is on point and SUPER impressive. I legit felt like I was receiving a present. Upon opening the box, the sandwiches were wrapped and inserted in a little cardboard holder -- such a nice presentation. I got their signature Scrambled sandwich with bacon and avocado and my husband wanted the Maple Dose (soft-scrambled eggs, thick cut bacon, and cheddar on a brioche French toast style bun with maple syrup drizzle). I'm happy to report that YES, these sandwiches taste as good as they look. The eggs are prepared perfectly and the buns are so fluffy & soft. They are also a very generous size and we were stuffed afterwards. All in all, I am definitely now a fan and can't wait to catch another one of their pop-ups. I look forward to seeing their business continue to grow and maybe even one day have a brick-and-mortar location!"
