"We were in Winter Haven for a baseball game and looked to Yelp for a lunch suggestion. We felt adventurous so we tried this amazing Dominican restaurant. It is buffet style with lots of traditional offerings including yucca, plantains, beans and rice, pork with crispy skin, chicken and on and on. It was so fresh and delicious. The women working the counter were smiling and friendly. You gotta try it. It is a little sketchy from the outside but super clean and nice inside and very affordable."

"Found this little gem via Yelp - Love the variety of Puerto Rican pastries and the hot food bar. The mofongo (smashed plantain) and trifongo (mashed yucca, green & ripe plantain) were divine. We ordered a la carte and came with some tasty broth on the side. Very generous portion that can definitely feed 2 people. We also had their stew chicken, boiled yucca, chicken soup. All super tasty. I am so sad it is so far from my home. The staff was very friendly. The time we went (around 5pm) was really slow, and they took the time to answer all my questions. If it gets busy I am sure there will be a little wait, but worth it."

"I've heard a lot of good things about this place, so we decided to stop in for lunch recently. The people working (the owners I believe) were super nice and happy to answer any questions. We decided to share a steak and cheese and fries. We were told to have a seat and pay after we finished enjoying our meal. It's smaller inside, but they have a couple of tables so we grabbed one. After a short wait, our food was ready. I tried a couple of fries first. I'm picky about fries and found these to be yummy. They had a good crisp and I liked the sauce they gave along with ketchup for dipping. Next, I started on my half of the sandwich. This was one of the best steak and cheese sandwiches I've ever had! Meat was tender and seasoned well, everything was chopped perfectly together so the melty cheese was all throughout in every bite. The bread held up nicely without getting soggy and had a good flavor. After we finished our halves, we seriously debated ordering another to go since we liked it so much, but weren't going straight home so grabbed a tasty cookies and cream shake on the way out. Prices here are very reasonable as well. Overall, this is a great local spot and I'll definitely be returning. Great quality food and nice people!"

"Why 5-stars for this establishment when newer and more spacious Asian grocery stores exists all around town? Honestly, it's the banh mi. There are a ton of competitors around town and I am well aware of the favorite contenders, but Tien Hung banh mis are by far the best and continues to withstand the test of time in my opinion. Their baguettes are the perfect consistency of light and airy, but also crispy. The dac biet is well-balanced and the ingredients are fresh. They have other banh mi selection that has way better flavor profile and freshness compared to others. I love that they carefully wrap the banh mi so it minimizes the smell in your car lol. If you buy the banh mis in bulk then you know what I am talking about. Of course it's 4.99$ price is a stark reminder that the days of $2.50 banh mis are long gone, but it's still more substantial in size than most other places in town and it's still buy 5 get 1 free. With regards to the rest of the grocery store, even though it's old, the space is tidy. The selection is limited, but it does have what I need when I need specific Vietnamese ingredients and the butcher's selection is fresh as well."

One option I love is you can have your bread gutted out. What does that mean? They literally remove the middle parts of the sub for less carbs. Try the #9 "The Italian night club", my fav. Tons of meat if you're a carnivore. Meat combo-Salami, capicola, and ham. Comes with provolone cheese, onions, tomatoes, lettuce and oil/vinegar, oregano-basil. YUM...such a hearty sandwich. Try the BBQ chips with it. Their ice tea is great too! So many different sandwich options! The store is super cold. Great for the summers, but bring a light jacket. Felt like 65 degrees in there with the fans going."

I'll say, delicious treat as they can be, they're also painstakingly slow making them. I don't care if you're the first or last customer in a confusing line of who's next, they're slow and are always seemingly pressing the limit of how long I'm willing to wait. This last time in, we all got a free show of what's really bugging them about their job. All the drama of who called in sick, who was feeling sick, how messy the night staff left the kitchen, how much extra work they had to do and how tired everyone was from partying the night before. Unbecoming but entertaining enough they should consider starting their own production for the Ritz."

The ambiance is very casual. I was impressed by their prices. The only thing I didn't like was that I got the Southwestern Chicken Salad and they did not have southwest dressing in their dressings selection.They are on Orange Ave, between Church St and Jackson Ave."
