So many thoughts on Big Taco. Here's a list: 1. This restaurant sucks for opening up so close to where I live. 2. The staff doesn't have good service...it has AMAZING service. 3. We were craving Longhorn one night, and we chose Big Taco instead. 4. The Carnitas Street Fries are the eighth wonder of the world 5. I hope they stay in business long enough for me to take my grandkids (I am 26)This place hits the spot every time. The staff rocks, the portions are huge, and the food is fresh. Brings your loved ones here.

The little sibling to Tijuana Flats (T-flats), Big Taco left a favorable impression for me after only one visit. Why? Good service by friendly and helpful employees, tasty and (dare I say) tender steak, and a clean store. The day of my first visit was fittingly Taco Tuesday (TT). Otherwise known as deal day. My first impression when walking in was the clean and bright setting. Tables and chairs seemed plenty and strategically set up in sections. Limited outdoor seating is also available. I chose the TT special of two tacos, fully loaded, with steak for an extra $1, chips and a drink since it was affordable for me. Eating with 3 co-workers, we sat at the tables with plenty of space and napkins at the table. I always need extra napkins with tacos! Our orders arrived and I was immediately delighted by the taste of the steak. Maybe marinated and definitely not tough, the steak was the star. The chips seemed to be the same as T-flats. No salsa bar here but two hot sauce bottles - one vinegar based and one sweet chili - sat on each table. Employees stopped by at intervals to check on our need for beverage refills. Again, we appreciated their friendliness. While I could see the connection to T-flats, Big Taco stands on its own in my opinion.

OVER PRICED ($38 for 2 entrees, chips & queso, salsa, and 1 soft drink) - AVERAGE TASTE AT BEST - FOOD WAS LUKE WARM - SALSA WAS TERRIBLE - TASTY CHIPS - FRIENDLY STAFF - CLEANWe tried Big Taco for the first time on a Saturday evening and we were not impressed. We wanted to like it so badly as we stopped going to the local Casselberry TF's due to inconsistent food. We've been looking for something to take it's place. Instead we left feeling ripped off and bummed out. The positives (2 stars): The staff was friendly and approachable and willing to answer any questions. The restaurant was clean and looks pretty nice from a decor standpoint. I'd prefer some booths but their tables and chairs were semi comfortable and the artwork looked nice even though I don't understand the theme. No tvs which seemed a bit odd. Big Taco has been labeled by the owners as the old Tijuana Flats food before all the current changes most people didn't like. That's because the owner is the same person that founded TFs. That said, the food we had tonight was not as good as the current Tijuana Flats. The best thing we had were the chips which were warm and crispy. The queso tasted good but was luke warm so we didn't eat much of it. The Salsa was the worst I've ever had. I like almost every salsa I've ever tried including out of a jar, but this salsa was funky and I don't mean that in a good way. I had the beef burrito which had decent flavor but was also luke warm so I only ate half of it. The rice had a strange aftertaste and the refried beans were forgettable. My partner had the queso crunch taco with chicken and said it had more texture than flavor, and also luke warm. Overall the food was average at best and very expensive for what you get. We both agreed the current Tijuana Flats that we stopped going to months ago has much better food than Big Taco especially if you like tasty salsa, hot sauce, and warm food. It's just a bit strange to copy a business you started then sold, and are now redoing. Been there done that many years ago. Come with something fresh! We gave it a try but unfortunately we won't be back.

What a cool decor spot! We love it! Looking for a spot to try American Mexican style food? Drop by here for another variety that compares to Tijuana Flats. It's pretty good, they offer better ingredients and more variety ingredients compared to the other place. I was a little disappointed with my slightly stale taco but the ingredients inside were fresh and plenty. If there were any sweet chili sauce, I probably would add this to my taco! The quesadilla were great also, plenty of fresh and variety of ingredients and it was good. My son ate it quick and fast in a heart beat. Service was nice and pleasant.

We came in on Cinco de Mayo after hearing some good reviews. There was a DJ which was fun. Everything was bright and clean. You pick up a menu by the door and order at the counter. Ordering was easy and you can read it in the screen. Prices are nice for a family our size. Any time we can get an appatizer, drinks, meals, and a tip for under $100 is a huge win. Chips and Queso got to the table almost as soon as we sat down. Everything was yummy, and staff was incredibly attentive. Bringing replacement drinks, etc. The kids meals were a huge hit- their meal and chips, and a pez dispenser.

Friendly staff, quick service and great food. What more can you ask for? I got the Queso Crunch tacos and as I was eating them I could see the jealousy in my husband's eyes. I knew I had a winner. hahaWhat I appreciate is the cute kids meals they offer. My kids were so happy about the toys (Pez dispensers) and the boxes were great for any leftovers. We will definitely be returning :)

Old school Tijuana Flats. As a Winter Park native, I remember the good old days of TJs on Aloma, and the TJ owner's son who started it all has done a great job with this space and the food. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for fast casual Mexican food.

Decor is wonderful with the artwork. Team was helpful with new suggestions. Spinach dip was very spinachy and less cheasy but still very good. Queso tacos were very big and packed with flavor- little baby kick to them. Steak chipotle street tacos were messy and broke bc of the liquid. So very messy. Need to be double tortilla wrapped to prevent that. We will return to get our Taco on.
