This is our favorite little spot - only sad part is the hours they are open.... So wish they had dinner ..... but when we get a day off we always come and enjoy. Husband's favorite is when they have the meatloaf special and I love the banana pudding...... Small town feel. And they make there own honey with the honey bees in the back. Service is great the are the nicest ever. Also, top favorite is the brunch ..... the cheese grits is amazing and the waffles are huge!!!!

It was 12:30 PM on a recent Saturday to be more specific it was July 31st our extremely friendly server was Marie, we were seated by the hostess at table B3 without a wait, this booth is on the left side of the restaurant, window side in the corner. Marie suggested the "smoked meatloaf" and made us aware that they also had mashed potatoes on the menu today. They have Pepsi products so my default soda in this situation is Mountain Dew with lots of ice, immediately upon delivery I noticed the tumblers are 24 ounces, hey this is Florida the heat and humidity demands a large drink, a pitcher or lots of trips refills so pick your poison figuratively speaking of course. The menu is filled with options and a little bit of humble bragging when it comes to the desserts, I was just about to pull the trigger on a combo platter when Marie remembered they also had a full rack of baby-backs with two sides and garlic toast for $13.99. Oh the power of suggestion my heart was set on those sausage links, a chicken breast and maybe the brisket and easy on the carbs, but not today Marie already had set the hook and I got the special and a refill with lots of carbs. The restaurant appeared clean and the decor was "barn-like" and a little dis-shuffled, it sorta reminded me of a older family owned restaurant I have no clue if that's the case or simply the intended atmosphere. The food arrived fairly quickly for the most part the portions were good, the full rack of baby-backs seem oddly small believe me there was plenty especially for a lunch special (I'm just saying these were the ribs from piglets). Everything was smoked well - the chicken sucked in the smoke and probably exhibited the most smoked flavor - the brisket wasn't award winning but competent, the skinny ribs were lightly costed in their sweet sauce so they would maintain their moist i was told, I thought the value was there. The slaw was nice fresh and not over dressed, the molasses beans and fries were just okay.Over-all the food was good and the service was outstanding so forty bucks and a great tip is not outrageous for lunch these days. I'm likely to return to try a few more selections and probably some of that banana pudding everybody's doing flips over...

Tried this place on a whim and absolutely loved it!The staff was friendly and it wasn't busy during the morning. The food was delicious and our waitress was amazing. I'm sad to say I didn't have room for dessert. It was a sweet, homie place; I love the ambiance.

Omgness soooo delicious. Some of the best sausage gravy I've ever had. Quick friendly service. The working bee hives are most entertaining. Right outside of the dining room window (in the back)

Fast service and slow cooked BBQ about says it all! But wait, they sell their own Honey and yes the service is friendly and the portions are plentiful. We got the lunch special of pulled pork and it came with Texas Toast, two sides and a generous heaping of pork. We finished it with the blueberry cobbler was definitely was home made!

Drove by this place on our way into Downtown Mount Dora and just had to stop in! Wow! Wow! Wow! Everything is homemade! Everything is delicious! The authenticity of it all hits you from the moment you walk in. We were seated at that magic hour right between the breakfast and lunch shift and thank goodness for that! We opted for the latter menu and ordered the Pig Tots and the 3 meat platter (with choice of two sides!) and were blown away by not only the generous portion sizes and quality of meats but were super impressed with the taste and presentation. Best of all, the prices are incredible, the parking is ample and the service is second to none! Southern hospitality at its finest. Marie H. made us feel right at home and like we had been regulars for years, even though it was our first visit! Pro tip: Save room for the Banana Pudding and make sure to ask about the HONEY!!!!!
