This place is foodie heaven! Especially if you like food that is local and scratch made. The ever changing menu keeps delighting and surprising me every time I come back. I don't live in the area but if I'm anywhere near here (like today I was at Blue Springs) I make it an effort to eat at BakeChop!This local fav is located in Deland in the Artisan Alley area - a quaint couple of adjacent streets that are closed on Friday nights for a market with vendors set up in the alleyways and every few months for the Deland Indie Market (a great time to visit). There's breweries, taco trucks, juice bars and more nearby so you can make a whole day out of it - plus Freedom Park a few blocks away for the kids (epic park, check my reviews!)The food at BakeChop ranges from grass fed burgers to ahi tuna poke bowls along with vegetarian, gluten free, and bun free options for entrees and apps. Their sides are always unique and tasty - and their menu is loaded with good options! It's almost hard to pick just one...but make sure you leave room for dessert! They have a glorious pastry case with desserts that are as unique and thoughtful as the rest of the food that BakeChop offers.

Food was delicious, I love the sweet potato fries and John blt, but my favorite is the allicin wonderland burger! And for desert I love when they have any of the flavors of the creme brulee. Atmosphere is homey and tight not gonna lie, it's a bit of a small establishment but they are packing big flavors! Outside seating is one of my favorite but when I go it's always extremely hot outside. Happy eating :)

Fresh and light! I was part of a party of four on a Saturday early evening and seated quickly. The server was very friendly, knowledgeable, and double checked on a couple gluten questions for us before ordering. The menu was clearly marked with gf, vegan, and vegetarian options, there was a lot! Surprisingly we all ordered a gf meal or app. I tried the Swamp salad, adding grilled chicken. The veggies were crisp and fresh, the dressing was light and flavorful and it all blended very nicely. My husband ordered the Put me out to pastor, which I have had a previous time here. It's a really nice balance of sweet from the black bean pineapple salsa to the savory, super flavorful and tender beef. The crispy polenta cakes are a real treat for anyone but especially a gluten free person. Everyone was happy with their food choices. We will definitely return the next time we're in DeLand!

Service was fast and exceptional. The food was well seasoned and very tasty. Nice farmers market going on outside making an after dinner stroll nice. The portion was good enough to feel full but not ready for a coma.

What a great find this little café in Artisan Alley is. Outdoor seating and small indoor area. Everyone was very nice & helpful and the menu is terrific. My food was fresh and hugely portioned. The menu is quite interesting and appealing -- I look forward to returning when in Deland to sample more of this fine cuisine and service!

Yum!! First time in downtown Deland and we were so hungry upon arriving we quickly found a place to eat! This place is so cute and quaint with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was quick and friendly! The food was absolutely delicious!

I love the flower child burger and the Mediterranean chicken bowl! And seeet potato fries with garlic ailoli sauce

Quaint little restaurant in Downtown DeLand. Many vegan options. I had the swamp salad with chicken. It could have used a bit more dressing due to the large amount of greens. My husband had the Cocky Joe chicken sandwich with plantains. I loved the different sides they had, too. I had the oatmeal cream pie for dessert (vegan btw)... omg sooo good! Highly recommend this place! Great service, too!

I love love this place , not only is a local gem but they have amazing desserts and the best coffee. Every time I crave a burger I know where to go and their sweet potatoes are the best. I like that they change the dessert menu and every time I order it does not disappoint .

Excellent!!! - food, selection and presentation beyond excellent! A nice change from the traditional bar food that's so prevalent in Central Florida so This will be our go-to place when we are in Deland!
