B&G Prestige Jamaican Restaurant

I visited B&G Prestige Jamaican Restaurant for lunch yesterday and had the Oxtail with Cabbage and Potato Salad. I love a good oxtail but was this dish was underwhelming. 90% of the oxtail were large bones and inedible fatty pieces. The few pieces of meat that were on the plate were tender but the thick sauce marinating the dish lacked much flavor. The sides had a nice texture but also struggled with flavor. I spent over $20 for a "large" portion which was expensive for the amount of food I actually got. Overall, the food is edible but lacks much flavor and is pricey for what you get.

So glad I came across this spot through Yelp because the food was amazing!! All the reviews were correct! The curry goat was some of the best I've had! So favorable and tender. Got the small portion and was still a large portion. The cheesy cornbread was sweet and yummy! If you're a cornbread lover, you'll love it! Sister in law had the curry chicken which she raved about how amazing it was. She wished she had got an extra corn bread, it was so good. Service was quick and friendly. This will become a staple in our household!

This place is amazing. Support ball business. I am in live with their corn bread! It the best I ever had. The staff is super nice! They have great deals. The food is delicious and fresh! And the pace is clean. The prices are so reasonable.

Drove 30 minutes just to pick up dinner to go last night based upon previous Yelp reviews, and they were spot on. The food was downright delicious. We tried the jerk chicken, curried goat, and the oxtail, and they were all fantastic. Nothing but good old fashioned Jamaican home cooking. Well worth the drive!

Looking for a new restaurant to try in Bartow led us to B&G Prestige Jamaican Restaurant located in the strip mall at 1220 N. Broadway Ave., in Bartow. This is a very small restaurant with only two people on staff. I ordered the Large Jerk Chicken which came on a bed of rice and beans. For my sides I had the mac and cheese and green beans. The chicken was very flavorful, and I liked it. My wife had the small order of turkey neck which also came on a bed of rice and beans, and she had a side of green beans. She said it was not spicy (which is a good thing for her), but she wished that there was more meat on the neck bones. There are only 4 tables in this restaurant and most of their business is take out, so the food was served in take-out containers. We both agreed to come back again and try some of the other offerings. Give them a try!

This review is in two parts, part 1 is from my son, who is a kiddo with pretty limiting dietary restrictions who was dying to go to this restaurant while we were visiting from out of town.Part 1: This place is delicious! Great food and a variety of drinks you can choose from. Everyone there is also very helpful and kind, and Jamaican food is hard to find, so I was happy when I went to this place.Part 2: The owners spoke to me when I called on the phone prior to eating there. They were SO accommodating for my son's dietary needs and when we arrived were ready to make him a bit of a special plate. Our party of five loved the delicious food, and the way we were treated by staff was awesome. So kind and just amazing service. 10/10 recommend this place and will be back next time we're in FL.

Everything was amazing, hands down my favorite was the goat and the beef patties. Service was amazing real genuine people.

This is hand's down the best Jamacian food I've had in a long while. They take pride in their service and the quality of the food, and you can tell that they take their time cooking with love. Everything was excellent, the restaurant is clean and well-kept, and you can tell they really love what they do. Highly, highly recommend to anyone craving a good bite to eat! 10/10 absolutely delicious, will be back!

I have been in Polk county working for the past few weeks and have eaten at many places and so far, hands down B&G takes the #1 spot! Customer service was amazing and the food even more. Got the jerk chicken plate. Chicken was juicy and the flavor! OMG! All the sides were so tasty! It came with rice and two sides. I got the mac n cheese and cornbread. I will definitely be eating here again before my trip is done! Five stars all the way!

Best Jamaican food in Florida!! I work all over Florida and I can promise you it's the BEST I have found! And it's small family owned good wholesome people which makes it that much better. Everything I have tried from here has not disappointed in the slightest!
