Athena Roasted Chicken

After a long day, I was heading home and craving some good rotisserie chicken. Of course, I had to stop at Athena Chicken--the best in town! Their rotisserie chicken is always juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned.It was exactly what I needed for a quick, satisfying meal.

We saw this restaurant when checking out the nearby Lazy Moon Pizza. This restaurant is more like a deli in that it only offers counter service and has no waitstaff. A lot of people seem to be ordering food from here for delivery because we saw a steady stream of pickups while we dined in. The food was meh at best and nothing anyone in our party would go back again for. The mousaka was not very well seasoned and tasted like reheated two-day old leftovers. The gyro was ok but there was little meat to salad" ratio. A far better option is the Mediterranean deli on Fairbanks. The roast chicken was ok, the Greek potatoes were not great and the zucchini with tomatoes was also ok. The feta dip with grilled pita was the highlight of our dinner but not worth returning for.

Athena is a staple around Maitland. Classic locally owned Greek restaurant with a great chicken meal. I got the roasted chicken and a couple sides my 1st time. They have the chicken ready to go, so it makes coming for lunch a breeze. My last visit, I had the chicken Gyro and I loved that. Hot, fresh and authentic. You know it's going to be a good place when 90% of the restaurant is over the age of 60 directly after opening, you know that crowd is picky and won't eat just anywhere ;). Service was fast and efficient, you order a the counter and pick it up at the counter. I will continue to come back here!!

We had Athena Roasted Chicken catered for a work event and it was deeeelicious! If it weren't for this being catered for our lunch, I would've never got to try Athena's and I would've been missing out. We had a sandwich platter with a variety of sandwiches (cut in quarters), another platter with tabouli, hummus, feta, olives, and another one of spanakopita. This was my first time having spanakopita and my life is forever changed. Also, I'd like to thank the ethnic platter for single-handedly changing my mind about olives. I used to think I didn't like them but not I know, I love kalamata olives!!All the food was so filling yet light and also full of flavor. So grateful we had this to fuel us for a full day of work!

We catered in Athena ahead of a work event and WOW! We got a platter of different quarter cut sandwiches, pickles, a platter of hummus & pita with olives and feta, and a platter of spanakopita. The spanakopita was some of the best I've ever had - so flaky and buttery, but still light too! The chicken salad and egg salad sammies were delish, I didn't try the turkey/cheese one (or maybe it was ham? Not too sure!)The hummus and pita were delicious and I kept going back for more. This was the perfect lunch to pick at throughout the afternoon and everything was super super yummy! If it was that good as a bulk catered order, I can only imagine how tasty it is dining in!

Delicious roast chicken with a Greek flare! This business has been open for a long time in Orlando and it shows it with some of its charming decor. It's counter service but they're quick to get the chicken and sides out to you. Definitely gets busy during lunchtime so get there early!

I've been to Athena a couple of times, but I always got the quarter chicken. Today I decided to try the chicken gyro and I wish I hadn't. The chicken itself and the sides are always delicious, but the texture of the chicken gyro caught me off guard. It was kind of like eating a gyro with coleslaw, which wasn't what I was expecting. I'm going to stick to the quarter chicken in the future.

This what looks like a family owned spot in the wall is a gem! There are a bunch of image of family and portraits of Greece all along the dining wall of the store. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helped us with our order since it was our first time. I ended up getting the 2x quarter chicken (white) with seasoned rice and roasted potatoes one with potato salad and two slices of pita. I say pop in, you won't be disappointed

I have been to this plaza before, but didn't even know this was here until seeing it recently on Yelp! It's very unassuming, the inside isn't fancy but definitely gives a family-owned vibe. I loved seeing the family pictures and drawings on the wall.The prices are really inexpensive, and the food was ready so quickly! I ordered the lamb and beef gyro and my fiancé ordered the chicken platter. Both were good but I really loved my gyro... maybe it reminded me of my time in Greece. The pita and hummus were good too, next time I would probably order more sides.Overall would definitely recommend if you're looking for a fast, easy, and cheap meal! The staff were super friendly too.

This food was so disgusting the potatoes was slime and chicken was dry and hard to chew. The pita was horrible this was so disappointing and dissatisfying
