Me and my sister visited here starving! It seems we were the first customers of the day and the service was friendly. We ordered hummus, gyro, beef tagine, and tiramisu. I loved the hummus and it came with a great portion to share. The tagine also tasted lovely-- savory and sweet-- but 1/4 of it was fat. The leaner pieces were tender and I loved the apricots! Perfect with the bread. As for the tiramisu it had me feeling weird since it was obviously currently defrosting as we ate it... apologies for the photo of it haha but we found it quite difficult to eat since it was frozen. The beef tagine was delicious but be wary of the desserts :3

The food was delicious, it was my first time going to a Moroccan restaurant and I loved the flavors. The restaurant is in a plaza, our first impression was that it looked clean but in need of some TLC. There were only 2 tables, but we decided to try and it was worth it. The service was a bit slow but she was friendly. Regardless I would come back.

Another great hidden gem off 192 in Kissimmee! So glad Yelp helped us find this spot.I love how they went the extra mile to decorate here. It felt cozy and I really liked the overall atmosphere. I wish they had a few seats set up at the bar for a quick appetizer or tea, but there was plenty of other seating in the large booths. The service was a huge highlight here. Sure, the restaurant wasn't very crowded when we went, but I've been in similar situations where the staff wasn't as attentive so it was still very much appreciated. We didn't wait long between appetizer and the main meal but also did not feel rushed at all. The food, and the entire dining experience, was very authentic. They had a beautiful tea set for our mint tea. The tagine came in traditional clay bowls. Everything we ordered was delicious. The hummus was as tasty as it looks, I loved the olive oil and olives it came with, everything tasted so fresh. The tagines we ordered exceeded expectations! The flavors incorporated into my lemon chicken dish were incredible and the meat fell off the bone like butter! The kefta egg tagine was super filling and tasty as well. I don't know which one to recommend more!Thank you to the staff and kitchen for making our experience so lovely. We will be back!

In town for Disney World parks, I happened to come across this listing when doing a restaurant search on Yelp. I love Morocco, Moroccan food, culture, etc., and there's DEFINITELY a lacking of Moroccan restaurants back home in Columbus, OH, so I made a point to check this place out. I originally stopped for lunch, but many of their traditional dishes were not ready yet, so I decided to come back for dinner (and get the full experience). Amine, front of the house hostess (maybe owner, too?), was welcoming with a smile. Dia was a fabulous waitress. She took time to explain the menu to me, gave suggestions, great friendly personality. I was super bummed they were out of their Chicken Bastilla appetizer, a thin pastry dough baked with chicken and almonds with a lite dusting of cinnamon and powder sugar on top for esthetics, but they were out, since they bake them fresh each day. Instead I went with the Seafood Bastilla - grouper and shrimp mixed with mushrooms. Not much in the way of distinctive flavors. I would pass on this, but still want to try their Chicken one, should I return!I ordered a small pot of their Moroccan mint tea served on a small silver tray with a lovely blue-rimmed Moroccan glass. The fresh mint smelled wonderful. While waiting, Dia brought out of the blue there appetizer sampler for me to try: Marinated Kalamata olives, homemade hummus, and Zaaluk, which incorporates mashed tomatoes, eggplant and spices; pillow-soft. The hummus was very good, just the way I like it - not lemony (I don't like the tart of lemon mixed with mashed chickpeas). The Zaaluk was also good; great roasted eggplant flavor and pillow soft. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the lamb SHANK with my tagine dish (sold out). When asked if I still wanted the dish, but with a different part of the lamb's leg, Dia assured me it would be just as tender and juicy; I really wanted to try a true tagine, so I went with the substitution and happy I did. The lamb was incredibly tender and absolutely insanely flavorful. The hint of sweetness from the prunes and apricots was divine. I wish there was a heaping helping of their caramelized onions they were so dang melt in your mouth wonderful. This was definitely in the top runnings for the best experience I've had eating true Moroccan food - my first experience with light tagine cooking, too. I would gladly give Ataj 10 stars!

Unfortunately had a negative experience here. Not usually one to write a bad review, but when a restaurant is not upfront with their customers it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I'll first start off with saying that the food and ambiance was fine, though the portions were extremely small. The main issue was that when we paid the bill the staff member did not notify us there was a 18% service charge added already. When we added our tip and the transaction went through it wasn't adding up, so I asked the waiter for clarification and he was very unwilling to help. He stated that all restaurants around the area did the same thing and they don't tend to notify the customers beforehand. He then proceeded to say there was nothing he could do and that we would have to come back tomorrow and speak to the manager if we wanted to rerun the transaction correctly.BEWARE any tip you add is on top of the 18% service charge they don't tell you about.

I've always loved Middle Eastern food in general. There seem to be some differences between different countries, but there's a vast amount of similarities. I have never had Moroccan food, but they have these dishes cooked in clay pots that are unique and outstanding. The lamb was good. The salad was fresh and refreshing.

This was our 2nd time visiting this location, our first visit was 6 years ago. Long before I became a Yelper. I remember it being great then which is why we came back. The ambiance is great. The service was okay. Our host/ server was very busy and it seemed short staffed. He was friendly but doing too many tasks. I ordered a pineapple juice and he forgot it completely until my husband reminded him when he brought out the main dish. The food was okay. For the appetizer we each had the seafood Bastille, although flavorful it was a little dry. For the main I had the chicken Gyro sandwich, my husband had the lamb Gyro sandwich, it came with french fries. It was not what I was expecting. For one, it was not in a pita as it says on the menu, it was in a tortilla. No tahini sauce as it says on the menu. The flavor was just okay.Maybe we will try them again and select a different dish next time.

Meh. Tajine was not served in Tajine even though they show tajines on their web site. That means it wasn't cooked using traditional methods because there would be no reason to transfer the dish out of the tajine to serve it differently. The Chicken Tajine was excessively salty. The Lamb couscous was dry and tasted like the lamb wasn't cooked that day. It was likely reheated in a way that dried it out. Overall the flavors were underwhelmingly bland for a Moroccan restaurant. Where's the spice? The service was friendly and the tea was good.

If you want a more thorough review of this place, read Daniel Rs review. It is spot on. This is the quick and dirty...Cons: HUGE CON no alcohol (insert sad face emoji) I'm in Orlando which is NOT the most magical place on earth. It's full of little kids and over crowded everything! I need a drink or two....The seafood bastilla was absolutely frozen in the middle! Like queen Elsa frozen!! We sent it back and they took it off the bill. The water they brought out for the table in a large bottle was half frozen as wellThe hummus and baba ghanoush had an oily consistency The entrees were very dry. They lacked sauceService was slow for a weekday night at 9pmPros: Service, despite being slow, the server was friendlyThe place itself and bathrooms are cleanOutdoor seating is availableLamb skewers weren't bad but again, needed a sauceThe place is quiet and would've been a nice place to end the night if I had a drink in hand and the food was better
