This is a place just outside of universal studios. It is very busy all the time. The food was authentic and good but no great. Service was so so as well. The chips and salsa were good though! The most interesting thing was the strip of old baby dolls that ran the length of the hallway to the bathroom. It was kinda creepy! Anyway not a bad spot.

As a lover of Mexican food I was super excited to try this place as I've heard great things. The restaurant has recently been renovated so very open and modern with a cantina vibe. Decided to pull up to the bar and enjoy the ambiance. Very busy place for a Thursday. If you can't get a seat at the bar, definitely make a reservation. Grabbed some fresh margs and table side made guacamole. Guacamole, 10/10. They make it to order and super fresh. Margs, 8/9. The sour they use is a bit much, but the flavors are amazing. And they will use any tequila you desire. Food: 8/10. The Chimichanga was great but the chicken was a bit bland. My friend has the Al Pastor street tacos. Very well presented and not bad for mass production. Overall, a great place for some good drinks and good bites. Would definitely return.

Took our friend here for her bday and we loved this place. It was a great vibe in here. Our server was awesome!! The chips and salsa were great. I loved my short rib enchilada, however the tacos (pastor and asada) were just ok. The meat wasn't that tender. The drinks here were great too!

I really wanted to love this place. Please call ahead and make a reservation. It will likely be packed so you want to do your due diligence. The menu is varied, so you're bound to find something you like. However, the food itself doesn't stand out. This is definitely more of a place you visit for the ambience (the outside and inside decor is beautiful, and there are dancers livening up the place). It took a while to get someone to take our order, but to be fair, it was a Friday night. All in all, I'm not sure I'd go again. If you go, do try the esquites corn appetizer. It's small but it'll be a hit.

We were trying to find a place to eat on a busy Saturday night, and came across this place. They said it was a 50 minute wait and we decided that it might be worth it to wait. (And it was!!) They texted us that our table was ready in 30ish minutes which was so nice! And we sat right next to the stage where dancers performed all night! Our waitress was so sweet and made our experience 10x better. We orders esquites right off the bat and they came out before our drinks within 5-10 minutes of ordering. And they were probably the best esquites I've ever had. We ended up ordering another because it was just too good! Everything was amazing and for the price you got a lot of food! We ended up taking some food home and grubbing on it later. For 2 of us we spent about $100, but that was us splurging. Most plates were in the $15-20 dollar range! And everything was soooo delicious!

We were here for a conference and we're craving some Mexican food. The hotel staff recommended this place on CityWalk and it wasn't very far. We arrived by Lyft and had a bit of a walk to the restaurant, but there is lots to look at along the way. Our reservation was for 7 PM and we arrived at the universal parking garage about a half hour before our reservation. It took about 20 minutes to get through security and walk through the main universal CityWalk area to get to the restaurant. I had the beef Birria tacos, which were very flavorful, and I liked the way that they heated them in the tortillas with the cheese for that little bit of extra crunch. The dipping sauce was also very good and I even dipped it in the refried beans that accompanied the tacos and those were also pretty good considering they're typically an afterthought as a side dish. Another friend had the chimichanga which looked amazing and huge. He said that the French sauce had a lot of flavor and the ceilings were well distributed with not one part overwhelming the others. The other two dishes in the photos were also reported to be very tasty, with the guisado being a a bit heavy on the sauce but manageable with all the tortillas and the table-side made guacamole that we ordered with chips and queso. The guacamole was just ok and the queso way over salted. The campechano was well made and not overcooked, as can be the case. The drinks were also quite good with the margaritas being quite large. Sadly they are served overfilled and about a third of it spilled all over the table when brought and no substitute or comment was even made. Just dropped off like it's normal. Even the servers can't help but spill them when retrieving them from the bar. It's quite ridiculous I think considering the price. They should either use trays for serving or just not overfill them. This really thinned out the drink and it wasn't worth the price at all.The restaurant is pretty busy as expected. The Spanish guitar / flamenco -style guitarist was quite amazing and a treat to listen to while eating. If not for him and the good beef birria tacos, this would have been a two-star review.

Came for dinner and since the Xmas parade was starting soon we got right in. Got a blackberry margarita and it was hands down one of the best I've had!! Really good chips and salsa included too, not too spicy. Very nice inside but you sink into the seats a lot. Was hoping there would be a show on the stage so not sure when they have them. The mole enchiladas were amazing and the birria tacos were too though they didn't come with the traditional consume. Highly recommend trying here, prices pretty reasonable too.

I came here with some friends who've been talking it up for ages. As a newcomer, I was blown away by the colorful decor and upbeat vibe--filled with amazing smells and traditional tunes that made for an awesome night. When we got there, our reservation was confirmed right away, and we were seated super fast. But the service was slower than I thought. It took about 10 to 12 minutes before our waitress even said hi, and our drink orders took another 10 to 15 minutes to show up. The longest wait was for our food, which took around 30 minutes to arrive, they were very busy so I'll let this one pass. On the bright side, we got free fresh chips and salsa, which were amazing and kept us snacking happily while we waited. I ordered the steak and chicken fajita combo, and it was delicious--definitely a standout of the meal. Watching the guacamole being made at the table was a fun show. Even though I don't eat guacamole, my friends loved it and said it's a big reason they keep coming back. In the end, even with the slow service, which could be better, my time at this restaurant was pretty great. The food and atmosphere were fantastic, so I'd definitely think about coming here again. although as pictured, I wasn't a big fan of a napkin being used to level off the table.

My sister and I came here on a pretty busy night but we were still able to get a table. They have live music which is pretty loud so I would advise to request to sit on the second floor if it is too much. We split their Birria tacos and Jalisco taquitos. I liked the birria meat but was very sad to see it didn't come with any form of consume but instead refried beans. The rice was pretty bland and didn't really make sense to me with the tacos. The taquitos were well filled with chicken but I think they would have been better with shreds of lettuce on top to balance the heavy fried taste.Overall, the restaurant was lively and well decorated. Our waitress was very kind and checked in on us regularly but the food itself was okay. Might come again to try some other items from their menu.
