Anthony's Pizza

Had an opportunity to try a slice finally. Being a new resident and native NY'ker, was hoping this was gonna be really good. Upon going into the restaurant on a Friday evening, I was happy to see many people sitting and eating. There is no way of seeing this is a sit down restaurant from outside. The patrons were happy and engaged! Great sign. Upon reaching the counter I was quickly asked for my name if I was ordering to go. I took a moment to look at the huge double sided menu. I saw the slice and was surprised at the price. 25% higher than what I pay. The cheese slice was warmed and I put the garlic powder, yada yada. The slice was good, not great, not enough cheese for me, and the sauce was ok. I suspect I'll return at some point but for the higher cost and not as tasty as I wanted, it was hard to give it a higher score.

My mother in law loves this place and who am I to deny her some pizza. We placed our order and 15 minutes later it was done. The inside was spacious and quaint. The young lady who took our order was polite and efficient. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a caesar salad. The pizza is good and the salad was above average. The pizza was suppose to be 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese but they spread the pepperoni throughout the pizza. Kinda disappointing but oh well we are hungry. All that matters is that she was happy.

A hole-in-the-wall Italian eatery that has excellent food! We ordered Italian wedding soup as a starter and it was the best my hubby had had outside of Italy! He ordered spaghetti and meatballs as his meal and it was fresh and tasty. The pasta was cooked perfectly - not mushy!I ordered chicken Marsala and it was balanced a bit sweet - just the way it should be!The atmosphere is nothing to write home about; the real star is the food! The staff is friendly, shouting a greeting as you walk in the door. It's seat yourself, and our server was at the table in under 3 minutes. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu items. My drink was replaced when it was empty. We will definitely be back

5 is high, but this is my go-to pizza place and I can't have the Negative Nancies of greater DeLand besmirching my pizza time.

It is hard to find authentic New York Style pizza! Anthony's in DeLand hit the spot. I did lunch special which was two plain slices with Italian Wedding Soup. The crust was phenomenal complimented with fresh mozzarella that reminded me of my home in Connecticut. It was perfection, I did my famous test of taking the cheese off the bread and eating the bread and cheese separately and both did not disappoint me. The soup was amazing, shockingly because my palate is changing, I loved the soup more. It wasn't seasoned to perfection along with tasty meat balls. I look forward to going back soon!

Food is good, although have had burnt marinara one time on spaghetti. Otherwise New York atmosphere and food. Staff was could be a little friendlier. We go here occasionally when in the mood locally for Italian. It's alight.

I usually like their pizzas, but today I ordered a large pizza with mushrooms and received a metal staple inside the pizza. Luckily, I found it before eating it. I took it back, and I don't recall hearing even an apology from the manager, just, "I'll make you another one," which I declined and got my money back.

We had a delivery. Meatballs; eggplant parm and garlic bread.Eggplant coating was raw and mushy as if the eggplant had not been fried. Meatballs were "bready"-- more bread than meat. Garlic bread tasted liken hotbdog buns with garlic oil.Disappointing

Stromboli was huge and it tasted great. Also a great deal for the price. The server Becky was the absolute best. The restaurant wasn't bust and the service was great, food came out in a timely manor.

You have a multitude of choices for pizza in that area. Choose one that has both great food and service.
