There are three Mexican restaurants within a few blocks of each other in Lake Buena Vista, and each has their pluses and minuses. If you're looking for margaritas, go to El Patron. If you want very Americanized food, go to San Joses. But if you want authentic Mexican food, the Amor y Chile is your best bet.The emphasis here is on traditional recipes such as molcajetes and Al Pastor. The tamales come in a corn husk, and the guacamole is obviously home made, with big chunks of avocado. It's a nice touch that complimentary, house-made chips are served with three sauces: green, red, and super spicy. The place won't win an award for atmosphere, but service is pleasant and the food is satisfying.

A Thanksgiving Miracle: The Mexican Feast of My Dreams! So there I was, Thanksgiving day, feeling like a turkey without a home. My reservations went up in smoke faster than my Aunt's infamous "flaming" casserole. I was on the brink of a holiday meltdown when I stumbled upon this gem of a place. I walked in with my party of 8 (yes, my family is basically a small army), and let me tell you, they worked their magic like culinary wizards!Despite being busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger, the staff welcomed us with open arms and a smile that said, "Don't worry, we've got you covered." And oh boy, did they deliver! The service was as impeccable as my Uncle's attempts at telling the same Thanksgiving joke for the hundredth time. Now, let's talk about the food. If you're searching for authentic Mexican cuisine, look no further! I've been to Mexico enough times to know that I'm basically a taco connoisseur. And let me tell you, this place had me believing I was back in a sunny Mexican plaza, sipping margaritas and dodging mariachi bands. The guacamole was divine--cheese in guac? Yes, please! That was the first sign I was in for a treat. And then came the pozole... Oh, sweet pozole! Words can hardly describe how delicious and authentic it was. It brought tears to my eyes--though that might have been from the spicy goodness. Either way, I was sold!To add an extra sprinkle of magic to the evening, they played music that transported me back to my childhood, filling the air with melodies that instantly reminded me of my mom cooking in the kitchen. It was like a warm hug for my soul, and I found myself reminiscing about those family gatherings filled with laughter, love, and, of course, incredible food.If you're ever in Florida and find yourself in need of a culinary miracle, make a beeline for this place. I can't wait to return and relive this Thanksgiving adventure--because let's be honest, it's not every day you find yourself feasting on mouthwatering Mexican food when your turkey plans go belly up!So, five stars and a hearty "¡Olé!" to the team who turned my Thanksgiving frown upside down and brought back sweet memories of home!

The place feels very authentic, and overall food was good! Just a bit overpriced in my opinion. Staff was friendly and there was plenty of seating so good for family dinners. Appetizer of chips of cheese was very mediocre. The cheese kinda solidifies and isn't easy to eat and it isn't a liquid queso where you can dip. Just literally cheese melted onto chips.Tacos were solid, nothing to really complain aboutBirria burrito was really good. Plenty of meat and it was blazing hot and fresh. I only wish that there was more of the consome to dip it in.Chimichanga is a great portion and super cheesy and filling! They do give you chips and salsa and they are spicy!! Homemade chips though so that's a +Would be more inclined to rate higher if it wasn't so expensive.

Have tried so many restaurants in this plaza & none of them are bad. We were always hesitant to try this as we have so many Mexican restaurants in Tampa Bay;however, finally stopped in after a day at Disney. Omg! Had no expectations and the food was excellent. Very clean, and big portions. Honestly, you could split a meal between two as we didn't have room for the portion sizes to finish them. No complaints. Got the carne asada burrito and the chicken nachos.... YUM! Open until 2am as well which is perfect when you're dead tired from theme parks. Recommend wish we had more people to help us finish. Can't wait to try more of their menu.

Stopped here after a long day/night at Disney wanting some Mexican (they close at 2am so it worked out). Service was great, all staff were friendly and the perfect amount of tentative. The food was *chefs kiss* amazing! It reminded us of our favorite Mexican spot we grew up with in Hawaii (no longer in business) so it was very comforting. The food was so good we ordered take out the next after another day at Disney lol! Wish we could eat there weekly but our vacation has come to an end!

I was greatly disappointed with the meal I had here. I tried the flautas, birria soup and something with garlic shrimp. The flavors were extreme mediocre and I felt needed more seasoning. I felt as though the reviews were extremely misleading. As someone from nyc I had high expectations for this meal and it truly met none of them. Even the guacamole lacked flavor. The best thing I had was the salsa with the chips. I likely will not return.

Stopped in around 1 am. Phenomenal wait staff and service. I ordered the rice and beans; my fiancé got the nachos- and damn did they look delicious. Since I can't do cheese I can't do nachos. The rice had an excellent kick and the refried beans were quite tasty. The refried beans were definitely homemade had a great chunky consistency and flavor was 10/10. Ambiance is a Mexican restaurant with music and lovely waitresses. 10/10 definitely recommend We also got complimentary chips and spicy salsa. *best refried beans at 1:30 am. *

Really, really, really good Mexican food, fantastic service, and super clean. I can't complain on any dimension - I was just absolutely happy with everything I tried here, and it was a pleasure to be here. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Food was amazing! So good, and it was nice to find a tasty place that wasn't a chain restaurant. If you love Mexican, do yourself a favor and try this place. You won't be disappointed. Tacos are really big, I got three but two would've been plenty. Everything was fresh and delicious.
