It doesn't sound like a place for Cuban food does it? Their roast pork is my favorite. It's not fancy, the food is homemade, delicious and the folks are friendly. They also sell canned goods, etc. I wish they were closer.

My favorite food around. It's authentic and full of flavor. The environment is lack luster, but the food definitely makes up for it. Prices are amazing as well. It's a hidden gem

This little place has been there forever. It is at the corner of 44 and 491. It use to be a gas station 20 or 30 years ago. They are mainly a Cuban style lunchroom. You go in and they have all the food already cooked and you go down the line and pick what you want and they plate it for and you can sit in a little booth they have. The other side of the store is a grocery store. Again, mostly Spanish food. The best time to go is for lunch. Toward the end of the day, the food starts to get old and does not look very appetizing. I dinged them for there cleanliness. Last time I was there (almost closing time) the fellow that was working (not the owner) was wiping down equipment and then he went straight to fixing me a Cuban sandwich. It was pretty gross. I said something and he happily put on a pair of gloves. I just think that sanitation and food handling should be second nature to someone in the food industry. The owners are very nice people and they have a close and loyal following. I have been going there for years but not late in the day like that day.

The food is not truly Cuban although they advertise it's Cuban. They're from the Dominican Republic and the taste is completely different. If you go in there for just 2 minutes, you leave smelling of used cooking oil and grease. The pork is never fresh it's left over from the day before. I believe the only reason they have any business at all, is because some people don't really know what true Cuban food is supposed to taste like and just the smell of garlic in the air, makes them think this is real Spanish cooking. Believe me, it isn't. If you go to Spring Hill, there's a real Cuban Restaurant there where there are 4 cooks in the kitchen every day, constantly putting out fresh food. The place is called Rice n Beans. If you really want clean, and tasty meals, you should give them a try.

Literally the worst Cuban sandwich I have ever had. I don't even know where to start. I could not even eat a second bite of it. Like a patty of pork maybe, faux Swiss cheese. I have no idea what the heck they are trying to serve in their so called food. Beyond disgusting. I told my husband he needed to go back i and return the food and get our money back. It was that disgusting.

Stopped in for a snack and ended with a great meal. With as busy as this place is I don't understand why it doesn't have a review.
