Original House of Donuts

Visiting the Original House of Donuts for the first time yesterday, Wednesday 2 August 2023, I arrived to find a relatively empty parking lot, which was a relief for finding a spot to park. In my time ordering and eating my donut, a number of other cars arrived - so number of customers can change quickly.I went inside to look at the different offerings and went with a red velvet cake donut. The total was $2.50, I tipped the $0.50 coinage. The bag for the donut had the founding year, 1959, and a custom design. For the donut, it was a lighter/fluffier cake donut with a cream cheese frosting. The cream cheese was very creamy and paired well with the cake donut. Twas a tasty sweet treat.

Fast service. I've always had great doughnuts here but last Sunday around 8am all 3 of us felt like the doughnuts were from the day before. We we're disappointed

The donuts here are amazing! They have an endless variety, and the cases are always full. Prices are fair and the service is super friendly. They have great hours and everything is always fresh. The blueberry cake donuts were a favorite, but there is some thing for everyone. Excellent option for the area!

I use to come here very often. Within this last year when I stop by the maple and chocolate bars have been so dry. It seems as if they are not fresh or they are being over cooked. I even show up in The mornings :/

I was in the area and just stopped by for fun to try out the donuts here. It's a small shop, but you can go inside to see the donuts for yourself. They have a small parking lot, but I'm guessing it's rarely used since they have a drive-thru window. No bathrooms for customers. There is a table with napkins, condiments, and a small trash can by the door. They accept Apple Pay on their iPad. The bakery glass had so many choices! I was overwhelmed with the size of the donuts. I was thinking they must be worth $2+ a piece. The donuts are definitely shareable. I typically enjoy bars more than regular donuts. I guess I prefer them because I feel they're easier to eat. I decided with a chocolate bar and a maple glazed donut. To my disappointment, the donut was better, but the maple glaze was too sweet. The chocolate glaze was better, but the chocolate bar was too dense. There were two ladies working during my visit. Service was good. I wish they had offered something, like letting me know about their donuts, since I had told them it was my first visit.

All I have to say is W O W!! Me and my pal went into this nice establishment. The service was amazing the man that serves us our donut was polite and quick. And now on these donuts.. my pal and I got a cherry donut and OMG that was amazing, awesome really anything you can think of that's along the lines of that. We each have one more donut as you see in the photo below. This was amazing. Thanks for reading my in depth review on house of donuts.

Fire ! literally no other words. Cute little drive through with old school donuts that are not too sweet or dense. Picked up an original dozen for my co workers and we were all pretty amazed by how good they were! The girls at the drive through were super friendly even though it was super early in the am. I will definitely be back for more donuts and I'm sure I've turned my coworkers on to this place as well!

Came in to see what seasonal flavors they have and they had a minty peppermint (light green frosting with crushed peppermint pieces, stuffed with what they say is chocolate mousse, but is probably just chocolate frosting) and it hit the spot. There's nowhere to sit as the building is tiny, so you'll be eating the donuts in your car or somewhere else, and that's okay. Be patient because the one guy who was working there the day I came in was working both the drive though and the indoor line. I miss when they used to have free stickers but these are hard times and I hope they come back when the recession is over. They don't have every type of donut, so that's a bummer, but they do have plain cake type donuts which the one in Lacey doesn't. Buy one of those and put it in an air fryer- it tastes like the tiny donuts you get at the fair.

Amazing customer service. Donuts are delicious and good portions. Prices are a bit high but again donuts are a good size

We did the drive-thru service and they were quick. I got the monthly special which was the blueberry cheesecake doughnut. We were coming pack from the Steilacoom Park Dog Park so my pup was in the car and she mentioned they had pupcake doughnuts. He usually does not get something like that, but we had a good day at the park so he was being rewarded. The doughnut I had was pretty light and flufffy, extremely sweet though. The filling was only in part of the doughnut but the blueberry icing was pretty good. This was a better experience than my last visit and will continue to visit when in the area and have a hankering for a doughnut.
