The Best Hamburger place in Phoenix!! I truly enjoyed it there and soooooo many choices to choose from! Menu is HUGE. I tried their Hawaiian burger and it was soooo good!! My husband tried the double burger and he enjoyed it. We also tried the sides fries and onion rings and it was soo delicious. The bun is amazing and delicious! I love that they have a full buffet-lookin' burger station UNLIMITED ADD-ONS ike tomatoes, lettuce, jalapeños, peppers, onions, etc AND different kids of sauces. You can also refill your drinks with many sodas and drinks to choose from as well as teas.I LOVE it here and planning to come by more often and try a different type of burger next time.Affordable and big portions as well. Fresh and delicious! Employed are also quick, super nice and reliable.Great place with colleagues, friends, family and a place for a quick bite to eat. Big and spacious as well.Planning to come by more often soon.

4/27/24: short version - large covered patio, decent parking, food wasn't bad, service was so-so. There's a 50/50 chance we would return.Long version - a month late getting this posted but better late than never! This particular Saturday we were both craving a good burger so popped in to OHW. The first thing we noticed was the decent parking lot, then the large patio. I remember it being covered, but the concrete seating was a bit uncomfortable (no surprise); I do not recall whether they had misters out there so unless you're Satan, outside dining may not be a good option. The patio door is where we entered, and at first all I saw was a bar area (a few large booths, dark interior, barstool seating). But as you walk in further, there's another dining area, and it was pretty crowded. You order at the counter (one of two; only one window was open at the time) and the gentleman who took our order was, well, I almost wanted to check if he had a pulse. He didn't smile once, there was no inflection in his voice, he was very deadpan (i.e. not very welcoming or enthusiastic). My sister said "maybe he's been dealing w/ rude customers all day" to which I said "probably, but until we prove we are RUDE CUSTOMERS, I would hope for a better reception". The menu was pretty extensive, and there was a large salad bar nearby -- or so I thought, until I saw it was all the condiments for the burgers. This means people could be touching things they shouldn't be touching, and flies / gnats could be enjoying your condiments before you do. :-)It was well stocked, however, and the fountain drink were serve yourself. A couple other employees did smile at us so that made up for the counter guy. They have some cool decor inside, plus the waffle fries were well cooked. The fried zucchini slices could have been thicker though, IMO.Because the interior was pretty crowded, I didn't get many inside pics, but you can see the ordering lines are similar to an adventure park (metal bars forcing you in one direction). My sister said this OHW reminds her very much like the Chuck Wagon near ASU in Tempe. It was decent food, but not certain a return visit is warranted.

I thought this was a nice option for dining in for something nicer than fast food but not formal dining. You order at a window and bring your food to a table. They have a bar for self serve burger toppings and condiments which I enjoyed. We ordered the bacon cheese burger, veggie burger, fries and fried zucchini. The cheeseburger patty was slightly overcooked. The bread buns were above average. The fries were really tasty. The fried zucchini were decent. I loved that they had a vegetarian/vegan option. The soda fountains were well maintained and had a lot options compared to other restaurants. The value for the price of food was good and I would probably return a second time. The restaurant is older and looks to not have had any updates in the last decade at least. It gives the restaurant a feeling that is both charming but also outdated.

It's in a bit of a shady part of town so I was somewhat skeptical...but GO! Older building - clearly been around for awhile, but I think it's all part of the charm. This is a no-frills experience - guy taking our order was direct and had a "keep it moving" type of attitude. You order at a counter and then can order drinks at the bar. Best burger I've had in a long time! Choice of bun - I had the onion bun - so, so good! Flame grilled - sides also perfection. They have a bar where you add your own toppings. Beer was ice cold and refreshing! Crowd was very eclectic - great people watching. Such a fun experience - I'll be back!

I came here on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the kids chicken strips and 2 burgers with fries and onion rings. I LOVE the char'd taste and thought the burger was delicious. I also loved the chicken tenders and onion rings as well. This place has a lot of seating and I love that you can add your own toppings. I wasn't a fan of the cashier who took my order, he seemed very flat and kind of rude; he didn't acknowledge my presence for what felt like at least 30 seconds before asking what I wanted to order. The food came out fairly quickly and everything was fresh, I would definitely give this place a try if you're in the area!

I'm in the Encanto Palmcroft area and the proximity to a bunch of places many phonecians, especially the Scottsdale variety, may have never even heard of. I've graduated now and Phoenix continues to impress with its diversity of culture and cuisine, especially DTPhx. You can get a burger at a lot of places but the stand outs here were the haunting char grilled flavor! I'm craving it right now.. and the extensive condiment bar at the center of the restaurant. It was a wonderful lunch and I'll be back!

I feel like Original Hamburger Works was hyped. Was the food good? Yes, but nothing wow worthy. The spot was pretty dark and on the older side. They have burgers, chicken sandwiches, appetizer foods etc. We ordered burgers and fries. I do like the condiment bar they have. It was well stocked and gives you the option to make yourself a lettuce wrap with all the veggies possible. The fries were okay, could've used some seasoning salt. The meat was fine. Overall we left full and it wasn't expensive.

Dined-10/28/23-Menu is the same as a few years back aside from maybe a some of the prices given inflation and what not. Friend thought she should've ordered the Great Big one as the patty wasn't enough for her (learning curve). Waffle fries were great, condiments/sides bar was well maintained and clean. We also had fried zucchini which were just okay a little greasy so not much crisp to them. Chicken sandwich was a nice portion overall food was tasty for a local non frills burger joint.

I was recently at hamburger Works for a birthday party. The burgers are tasty. It's like they've mastered simple charbroiled goodness. You have to go up to the counter to order. It can take a while to be called for your food, but it was worth the wait. I debated a couple of food options. I ultimately went with the regular sized Hawaiian burger, which was tasty. A person was standing in line next to me also recommended fish and chips. I'll have to try that next time.

The flavor of their cheese burger is amazing. Come hungry if you order the fish and chips plate, there was no room to put the ketchup :) Our order came out nice and hot. We sat in the bar area and were checked in on a couple of times to make sure we were good. There's plenty of tv screens to catch your favorite sports. In the corner of the bar is a popcorn machine, my favorite. Family atmosphere too.
