Original Breakfast House

The Big Veg I am. Entering a surfer finer vibe, I ordered the five egg white scramble. Thinking of the normal sides, the waitress mentioned cheese grits, and I was like... yes!! Wheat toast as well. The scramble had a great light white cheesiness to it. Lacking salt and spice, I used their house spicy sauce "the Pepper plant" and it was amazing. It added both saltiness and spice (as I have been a time a two that I have added as well ). Warning: The cheese grits come out hot! I burned my tongue!! Not a complaint, though. A little hack: I ended up using the pico de gallo to the cheese grits and use the wheat toast to help balance out the richness of the cheese by dipping the toast into the grits. Amazing!I definitely recommend this place and will be back!

A good ol' fashioned breakfast with some good ol' fashioned service! A smile never goes out of style. ;) Cash only so there is some good ol' fashioned style of taking payment as well. Portions are good so you may consider sharing depending on your appetite. The deep fried French toast takes you to the fair without the fair prices! - a must try. Aloha vibes adorn this establishment.

Returned with phoenix family for second time for a great breakfast on a Friday mid morning. Waited for only a short time on the shaded large covered outdoor patio for Dave the Hawaiian shirted front" man host to call us to be seated . We had basically the same orders as previous visit , Benedict , chicken fried steak , big scramble w Birria extra topping ( I could not finish it took home) & young granddaughter had big kids hamburger on Brioche bun w fries , plus added the coconut " Hawaiian pancake to share . All very good , we returned to enjoy the whole experience.The service is very good and efficient . The surf /beach decor is fun like visiting San Diego . There's a small counter , old working jukebox , & surfboards hanging all over . The booths very comfortable. I assume the lunch items great too . I'll ( we will ) be back !

Still my absolute favorite place for breakfast or brunch! I had the big gooey scrambled mess with one of their famous biscuits and it did not disappoint. Owner John, is always friendly and happy to meet new folks as well as the regulars. Atmosphere is great, and a little less crowded in the summer so lots of space to spread out. So thankful for a restaurant that still values customer service above everything.

Found this place thanks to Yelp! Seriously, they only take cash but they have 2 ATMs so you can get cash. One is also located next to the bathroom for those thinking they can duck out. Don't do that. That's rude. This place was great & exactly what I needed this AM. Wasn't crowded & I did overhear customers, probably regulars, say they were surprised how empty it was today. I'm grateful for it, sensory overload & all. Anywho, down to the actual review. Danielle was my waitress & she was an absolute delight. Super positive. Super bubbly. All felt authentic & not forced at all. Love that energy for her & the customers. I also overheard some chit chat between staff about changing shifts & it was so delightful to hear them so willing to help one another out. Truly gave the vibes of "we actually like working here & like each other." I ordered a basic coffee with heavy cream. Didn't love the $4.25 price for it but there are worse things in life. Also, I only ordered the Crispy Carnitas & Avocado omelette with no sides. Danielle took $2 off since I didn't get any sides. This was lovely & greatly appreciated. Especially since most places still charge full price even when you don't get the full meal. The omelette was just eggs. No milk. No cream. No cheese. No pancake batter. Just eggs. Loved it. Fluffy & delicious. The carnitas themselves were tasty. The red chile sauce was nice with a little kick at the end. Some extra heat would be lovely. The avocado part was a little deceptive, it did not seem as though there was nearly enough avocado in this as it was primarily on the ends of the omelette. Prices were reasonable. Portion sizes were ideal. I would definitely consider coming back here if I was in the area. Worth checking out

Service was great. Food was delicious, especially the pancakes. Orange juice is fresh squeezed in house so was really refreshing. Horchata was tasty too. We also took home one of their home made pop tarts and a cinnamon roll.One critique, wouldn't order the grits again, they were a little thick and "pasty" in texture. All in all was a good breakfastHeads up, they only take cash. There is a "no fee" ATM inside.

The cozy California coast surfing decor adds to the inviting atmosphere.One thing my daughter absolutely loves the custom California hot sauce, which she would buy by the gallon if she could! It's a testament to the flavorsome experience this place offers. And don't worry about bringing cash - they've got you covered with a no-fee cash machine right on site.Now, onto the food - it's simply phenomenal. The extensive menu boasts a variety of dishes leaning towards those delicious California flavors. And the baked goods? Another amazing dish... Green chili pork Benedict, served on hashbrowns with a side of hashbrowns! Yum and gluten free! Thank you Alex for great service with a smile and the idea to tweak the menu to work with my allergies. I also added the side small stack of gluten free banana oatmeal pancakes which are a favorite! Wish you had Westside location, but we'll keep making the trip for the fantastic food!

I took my long time friend Vaughn back for his Second visit. He raved about his dish ShrimpsWith Eggs and Grits. Super satisfyingI had quinoa , veggies, poached eggs ! I thought it was expensive and $4.25 for a cup of regular coffee is ridiculous. Food wasn't as good as the price. Service was good.
