On the Rocks

My husband and I loved this place! We came a few days ago and loved the Christmas decorations and the paintings on the ceilings. The staff was extremely friendly; and it was great to see that this was a regular place for a lot of people, you could tell that everyone was super close. The bar had a few pool tables that you could play on for 25 cents, and multiple sized pool sticks. There's also a shuffle board table that feels like it's extra long; but it's great.We had a great time, a little selection of beer but everyone was super friendly and we would definitely come back.

David and Kris are the heart and soul of this place, I come back for the smiling faces but was very disheartened when I came in two Thursday ago and Rick was rude. I have been coming here for many months: I came in one Thursday for the first time and Rick was my bartender. It saddens me to write this because I love this bar so much. The family that owns it are wonderful, kind, and have that Midwest camaraderie I love so much. But this guy was rude, unhelpful, and mean. I can't give the bar itself a bad rating for the man I was helped with because Kris, David and his family have always been so endearing and helpful. Truly the reason I come back is for the family and their love I've been shown. Drinks are amazing, honestly my favorite, and I love their smiling faces. But Rick is an ass, excuse my language but he's awful. Love love love OTR not a fan of him. Once again David and Kris are the OGs and are loved by all.

Good atmosphere, pool tables are decent. Very well priced. Oh and supposedly haunted! I felt someone touch my back but turned to find no one there! The bartender said his name is Charlie. I will definitely come back!

Total dive bar but fun and friendly atmosphere. Have 3 pool tables and 1 dart board. If you like all types of music this is a good stop, everything from country to rap, so really a mixed bag of people. Cheap cold beers and .50 pool. Good place for an inexpensive fun night.

This place could be fun, but there was only 1 bartender who couldn't keep up and it wasn't the best experience unfortunately.

Not a martini bar. Stick to beer. Bartender complains about other customers to you about how they don't tip her... lol. Not amazing, a dive bar indeed.

This place delivers on a true "dive bar" experience. When we asked the bartender if there were any drink specials, he said simply "No. Not one". Not rude, just matter of fact. He then let us know that the drinks were half the price of Old Town. He managed to dig up a bottle of wine for my date, and when she asked how long it had been open, he said "good question, no idea". He let her try it and it was bad (and she's no wine snob). He laughed and threw it out.But it all worked out. We ended up drinking $4 Tito's and sodas and playing table shuffleboard and had a grand 'ol time. There were a decent number of TVs around with sports going, and a nice soundtrack of 90's grunge and alt-rock in the background. It was a small older crowd of men hanging out at the bar when we got there (about 8:30pm on a weeknight), but the place started filling in a bit with more of a diverse crowd as the night wore on.Bottom line: this place isn't hip or trendy. It doesn't have craft beer or really any wine. It's just a good local bar with cheap drinks.

On the Rocks is one of Scottsdales hidden gems! This place has AMAZING deals on beer and the perfect place to get a group of friends together and play some games!They have shuffle board, darts, pool, bar-side arcade games and a jukebox! Another awesome side note is that you can bring in your own food! The customer service here is also great!If you are looking for a great time at a hole in that wall bar with great deals and a friendly staff, you would be crazy not to check this place out!!LOVE ON THE ROCKS!!

Had a bartender who would just ignore my mom and I every time I was trying to get his attention, decided not to tip him because he didn't do ANYTHING for us. Then he had the nerve to tell his boss I didn't tip. His boss came running out towards my mom and asked her why didn't we tip him. my mom said "he didn't serve us at all" Then the boss told us not to come back. Worse service we've ever experienced. MY MINORITY PEOPLE PLEASE DONT COME HERE!! Drinks aren't that good, waste of time here!

Cool spot. Sports on, billiards, darts, friendly staff, and they let us bring in food. Will definitely be back!
