By far my favorite sushi in all of Omaha (duh it literally is Michelin star worthy) We come here on date night and are never disappointed. We always get the best service, they are very knowledgeable and friendly. One of the chefs, Matthew, always comes by to say hi and check in to see how the food is. We choose a sake or a wine, several small bites, and a plate, usually followed by a roll if we have room. The flavors are immaculate and you have to chew at least 20 times to savor every single second of it! If you haven't been here or you're looking for a reason to go, this is it! This is your sign to go and have some amazing food!To add: this restaurant is PHENOMENAL, they don't do substitutions for a reason, the food is salted and seasoned to perfection and they won't serve it with soy sauce or wasabi. These things can mess with how the bite tastes and they don't want to skew the guests taste. Just something to keep in mind if you are a person who really likes a wasabi or soy sauce on the side of your sushi.

If I could, I would eat here for breakfast lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Sushi for breakfast? Sign me up!In all seriousness Yoshitomo is AMAZING. We have been here a few times, and each time continues to leave me wondering why we don't return more often. As soon as you walk in you are met with a dark, moody, fish cabin-y ambiance. The lights are low and you can see fresh fish everywhere. Despite being a smaller space, the tables are not crowded. They have an open cooking and prep space where you can watch the amazing skill and precision that Itamae posses! It is so cool to watch them in their flow, creating beautiful dishes. Food- the most important thing. 10/10, could not rave more. The menu is designed to to small tastings which allows you to try multiple different dishes without leaving 20 pounds heavier. We tried around 10 dishes-let me tell you there is not one that I didn't like. My favorite was the scallops. They were SO tender and sprinkled with a little bit of truffle salt that was absolutely delightful! It is slightly pricey, but definitely worth it. Highly, highly recommend!

This place was very disappointing with the food and extremely expensive. My expectations were very high once I heard about the famous/well-known chef who manages this place. The food was not tasty and I tried a few plates including appetizers. I'm a sushi snob and I was so disappointed Service is great and the ambiance is ok. I sat at the bar and I heard the worker's drama. I was expecting for this place to be more professional.

I still cannot believe that this restaurant is located in Omaha, Nebraska. The whole vibe of the restaurant makes me feel like I'm in LA or New York. The menu had such a wide variety for all taste buds - even if you aren't a fan of fish. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure to take our allergies and explained the menu really well. Everything we had there was SO well-made and you can taste the quality of the ingredients in the food. I ordered the abura miso and the taita roll - both were so delicious and I was so sad when I finished the food. It's by far one of the best sushi restaurants I've had.

Holy Bejeezballs. No wonder this place got New York Times recognition its got NY Times flavor and quality. Every bite was an adventure and quite frankly addicting. I am not a renowned sushi eater but my palate is now enlightened. It is such a hidden quaint restaurant that transports you to a fine but cozy dining atmosphere. I'm out of words quite frankly my mouth is still tingling with flavor, highly recommend if you're in need of a tasty experience!

I have had this place on my list for a while, and finally pulled the trigger on going in for lunch. I ordered sake, their version of the deviled egg, and various pieces of nigiri. The cloudy sake was delicious and I ended up getting a couple of carafes. That was just the start of what ended up being an amazing experience. I started with the deviled egg, which I am very particular about. The chefs informed me that what is normally considered a simple dish contained over two dozen ingredients. Whatever they did to make this creation worked, and it was AMAZING. Easily not just the best deviled egg I've had, but best egg in general. After this, I was introduced to the various pieces of nigiri I had ordered. Every. Single. Bite. Was fresh and delicious. Some of the best sushi I have had, and I was definitely not expecting to have that in Omaha. The restaurant itself has a very beautifully modern look and is perfect for date nights or gatherings with friends. You can see the professionalism of the staff at work in real time. They clearly communicate with one another when maneuvering around the kitchen area. I asked about the head chef's other dining experience, Ota, and was sad to learn they book 2 months out. Hopefully I will be able to make a trip back to experience that in the future! All in all, this place is worth going to and splurging because you will not get this quality anywhere else in Omaha. This brought a new meaning to a 5 star experience.

We had a bigger group so we had a separate room with one other table in it to ourselves, so it was pretty cozy for my party and I. Our server was nice and pretty attentive, even though we were separate from the main dining room. My table ordered a variety of nigiri: mackerel saba, sea bream madai, salmon sake, yellowtail hamachi, chutoro and toro tuna belly, all which were very fresh! We also got a variety of rolls: rodeo, simba, rangucci, and royale, with the rodeo and simba being our favorite! We also got a couple of bites: foienagi, aburi wagyu, and abura miso. The foienagi was my favorite as the eel was perfectly grilled with a complementary sweetness from the cherry boshi. We also got the seaweed salad and onion egg to start with. The oni egg was super creamy and delicious!

The best sushi I've had EVER and can't believe it's in Omaha. Everything was amazing, so I couldn't pick a favorite , but it was unbelievable. A MUST is the Hama toast. It was so good we ordered one for dessert you will thank me later. Service was just as good as the meal. The waitress was very friendly and went over the menu with us since we never been before. Ambiance : the restaurant is pretty small, but very clean and loved the colors they chose. It made the restaurant feel very current and set the mood for our meal. Reservations are a must and I would suggest booking weeks out in advance for a table.

Hands down the best sushi I have ever had. Maybe even some of the best food in Omaha! It is best to make a reservation ahead of time online to ensure you get to eat this amazing food. Staff is super kind and attentive. The space is small and intimate, but that adds to the experience!

Yoshitomo is the total package. The ambience, the staff, and most of all/ the food. IMHO it is the best restaurant in Omaha. The food is incredible, and they have many unique offerings. Every bite is a masterpiece. This is "last meal" worthy.
