A yoga studio with heart and soul. The original Omaha Yoga studio way before yoga was mainstreamed in the US. The Founder Susi is an Omaha legend! I was privileged to complete yoga teacher training here! My favorite yoga studio in all my travels is right here!

This is my second time around trying to get into yoga, and so I started by shopping around, talking to friends and trying different studios. This was a perfect fit for me from the first class. The instructors are kind, supportive and helpful. I don't feel like I'm "competing" with the person on the next mat, who has been doing it for years - everyone seems very mellow and focused on creating positive energy for themselves and others. The space is bright and the temperature has been right every class. I bought a block of sessions, and have been able to register in advance and also just drop in without any issues. If you're looking for yoga as a sport, this might not be for you, but if you're looking to get to know your own body, this is a great place to start.

From the moment I stepped into Yoga Now I knew this was the studio for me. I've been to many yoga studios and done many forms of the practice and never quite felt "home" and comfortable in a yoga community before. Yoga Now is clean, has friendly faces greeting you at the door right away for classes and they lead a type of yoga that doesn't make you feel intimidated. All of the yoga classes can be done easily by a beginner since the instructions take time to work through the postures with the entire class. Every class is started with a centering practice and ended with relaxation, which I know for me is key in helping me get the most out of my yoga practice.

The premier yoga school in Omaha, Susi Gillespie Amendola is a longtime student of Swami Rama, lived at the Himalayan Institute, and now has been teaching yoga in Omaha for 30+ years. She has trained and employs a number of teachers who have also been trained in other traditions/schools, most notably Kripalu. Her 200 hour teacher training is top-notch!
