YMCA Healthy Living Center

The YMCA Healthy Living Center in Council Bluffs was once known as The Center. The clientele is similar, senior adults who are looking for a fitness and social place to meet people and stay active and practice fitness. The parking lot is hardly full, but you need to enter off of 8th and not 6th Street once you approach downtown from the Expressway. The staff are friendly and the instructors are helpful while offering a broad range of fitness and wellness activities daily. The facility has a cafe and nice locker room facilities. The weight room is full of cardio and selectorized machines and several partake in water exercise classes or use the pool to swim laps. More YMCA's should be specialized for senior adults vs family-centered wellness centers as most YMCA's are set up for.
