Yeya's Scratch Kitchen
The coloring book pages on the wall are pretty cute.

Very good food. Large quantities, also. Nice to have a place to go get carry out after a long days work.

I hate to give 1 star reviews but our experience at YeYa's (not Yaya's) in Tabor, IA deserves it so here goes. Having lived in Tucson, AZ for a few years and eaten at Lydia's in So. Tucson (where the chimichanga was supposedly invented) I had to write this one. I've come to understand and even tolerate the difference between real border Mexican food and the midwestern "interpretation" of Mexican food. YeYa's Scratch Kitchen was borderline, heartburn-inducing lousy! The Chimi was a rolled up flour tortilla with overspiced beef in the middle, smothered in sour cream and straight off the grocery shelf salsa. I ordered refried beans and got grocery store Spanish rice. I barely got through a third of the plate and gave up! If you want decent Mexican Food, go to South 24th in Omaha, you sure won't find it here!

Yaya = yuck! The meat was like dog food! The size of building is cramped and the location is awkward to get to. Try another place for better Mexican, like Taco Bell!

Great local, family owned restaurant. They have a different selection of food and it's all very reasonably priced.

The food is average, the customer service is horrible. I only go because my MIL likes to support local business. If I could convince my FIL to not tip them I would. The servers are horrible!

Update,we have been to YeYa's many times now. Tacos come in threes, love the pork with Mexican cheese. Chicken fried chicken is huge & tasty. Pork tenderloin has won awards. Prices very low. This is a local favorite.

Not just Mexican! The hand breaded tenderloin was the right size for lunch with light breading. Fries were crispy good. Comfortable bright atmosphere.
