We come here on Saturdays when we can for their prime rib which is only served on Saturdays. I've never ordered anything else here so can't speak to the rest of the menu. The prime rib is the best I've ever eaten including roasts I've prepared myself. Never rubbery and always flavorful. This place is more reminiscent of a diner or cafe than a traditional steakhouse but the dining area is clean and comfortable and the service has always been good in our experience. Looking forward to our next meal in Wiota!

Despite the rainy day we have been having today, my wife and I on our 14TH Anniversary went to dinner at the Wiota Steakhouse & Lounge. It is a very small place in a real small town about 7 miles from where we live. We had heard plenty of advertisement about the Steakhouse and good things said. Although we could never actually find anyone who had actually been there. We had moved from Denver to Atlantic about 1 year ago so wasn't sure how this would go. So we tried it out. They had really good food. I had the 10 OZ Ribeye and my wife had the 14 OZ New York Strip Steak. They were both cooked to our instructions and tasted wonderful. Along with that came a salad and potato which filled us up leaving no room for desert The service was good. I think one waitress, one bartender and one cook made up the staff. I have bad vision so one of the things I really liked about this place was unlike most Steakhouses, it was very well lighted so I could see the menu and I could see the food I was eating. LOL. One word of caution if you go there DO NOT be in a hurry. Like we have discovered at a lot of places in Southwest Iowa, things move at a slower pace and I am getting very used to it. At the same time you will not be hurried to leave your table as soon as you are done. If you want to stay and chat than have at it. We went on a Tuesday night around 6:00 P.M. and it was quite. We were told by the staff that Friday Nights and Saturday Nights are very busy. In short we had a good time and made a wise decision

As the director of the Route 6 Tourist Association (Iowa Division) I do a lot of traveling back and forth across Iowa. We favor the mom & pop businesses because the food tends to be better, they have charisma, they are unique, and because the money spent stays local. For me to recommend a place, the food has to be good, and it's a bonus if they have a unique atmosphere. The Wiota Steakhouse comes through in spades on both of these counts. Set in an old 1800's era wood framed building that used to be the Wiota Drugstore, the Wiota Steakhouse reminds me of those old places my dad used to take me to. The ambiance inside is right back there in the 1970s, and the food and service is terrific. Menu is straightforward, Prime Rib, steak, and chicken (if I remember right). Fancy they aren't, but quality they are. Wiota is on Iowa State Highway 83 (Historic US Route 6) between Anita and Atlantic. Get off the interstate, enjoy the rolling hills of southwest Iowa, and discover the charm of locally owned hospitality. Come on in, you'll feel right at home.

An hour and a half for poorly done bland fried chicken (they were out of the steak I wanted), the menu said there was an extra charge for white meat which was perfect as I prefer dark. .. order came, a Dry breast and over cooked wing ...waitress had an attitude problem and the liquor selection was poor. No crackers or bread served with salad or dinner. Prices way out of line. The only good thing I can say is it is much cleaner than it was before the fire.

My S/O and I were driving back to Illinois from Chicago, and we stopped for the night in Atlantic. We decided to try out Wiota Steakhouse. The food was fantastic. My sirloin was cooked perfectly and was extremely tender. Between the generous sides and a decent sized salad, there was no room left for dessert. The service was excellent and attentive without being overly so. This is a little place off the beaten path, patronised mostly by locals. The fact that it was packed on a Sat. night(11/18/23)shows how strong local support for the restaurant must be. If you're passing through, or staying the night, this place is definitely worth a visit for a great meal. I didn't care about the ambiance at all. It was a little chilly in the bar. I didn't even mind that. That's how good the food is here.

My wife and I split a 16oz Ribeye. Purely amazing. A good salt & pepper steak with an amazing grill flavor as if you grilled it at home. Homemade dressings are perfection! Highly recommend trying their poppyseed dressing! 10/10! The prime rib and burgers are also amazing!
