Showed up at 6:50pm on a Friday night, no one in the lobby and promptly filled out the paperwork. 5 minutes after I arrive and waiting patiently, another person walks In and says "my cat can't pee" - they immediately take the cat back and treat it. 4-5 other people come in and get placed in a room and seen by staff. I continue to wait now 1 hour into it with no sign of anyone coming to help. I called to ask if I needed an appt they said no, I drove an hour to have my pet seen. I'm not mentioning what's wrong bc it's irrelevant- I showed up before others and felt I needed my pet seen as an emergency and the level no zero F's given is mind boggling. I haven't raised any concerns or complained, I'll sit here until they see him because I don't want my pet to die. Unfortunately, if he does, for whatever reason is wrong with him, it'll be on Dr Perez and staff. Stay away if you have a true emergency, their idea of prioritizing ones pet over others will piss any owner off. You'd be better off trying to see your private vet. I have no clue what's wrong with my pet which is why I'm here... but apparently no one gives a F. 9pm I left with nothing. What a sham of a way to do business.

We've taken our dog and cat here and I've always been pleased with the service, kindness and compassion of the staff and doctors at this ER vet. Prices are going to be a bit higher to be seen since it's an emergency vet you go to when your normal vet is closed, but I don't think they are too far from my own vets' prices for things such as labs. One visit my cat was very sick and had to stay over a weekend in the hospital. Dr. Sumner was great at explaining my cats' lab results to me and the treatment plan, as well as providing an estimate of charges. My cat ended up staying 3 nights even though the estimate allotted for 2 (holiday weekend) and I was still only charged the high end within what was initially proposed. They encouraged me to call and check on my cat as often as I wanted and were very kind on the phone in answering my questions. They provided excellent care and answered all my discharge questions. Another time unfortunately we had to use them again to euthanize my cat. Again, Dr. Dishman and the staff met us with nothing but great service, explaining the process, allowing us as much time as we needed before and after the procedure was done, making a horrible day as good as they possibly could given the circumstances. It just goes to show you how great staff that treat you and your furry animals like family members is the most important thing that means the most when our animals are sick.

After 350 days of owning our Doodle- we made the trip to an Emergency Vet (almost made it one year!) We were visting family in Lincoln over the Holiday weekend and our dog formed an odd looking lump on the bottom jaw with swelling. His teeth were not visible, and I was very concerned. My guesses were either an acute allergic reaction, or a broken tooth snagged on his lip, forming the lumpy appearance. I was hoping for the former. We called in and found there was a short wait time, and a visit is $80. Our normal vet charges $35-40 for an office visit, so this is a bit steeper, but they were also open on the 4th of July weekend and it was a Sunday. I found the cost reasonable. They took a look immediately and decided to sedate him for more cooperation. After a 1.5 hour visit, they found his lip was snagged and caught on the tooth, and was able to unhook it. The vet said it was the first time she had seen this in 20 years of practicing- leave it to Henri to find a weird way to make it to the vet! The charge was $150 with the anesthetic he needed, and my anxiety was reduced to nill. I am glad we chose this office and would recommend the staff here for your emergency needs. They were helpful and caring, and I appreciated knowing the costs up front for everything before it was performed.

Going to this ER Vet was one of the worst experiences of my life - I left there heart broken thinking I was going to have to put down my 15 year old Lahso Apso. I stepped on her leg trying to be super Mom getting supper ready quickly for my family. They suspected a fracture and dislocated hip. The estimates they gave me were outrageous (which I get, it is an ER) but the steps they said they would have to take to treat my dog were over the top. With all the steps and $ they suggested that it "might be her time". :( I did get two pain pills from them for my sweetie and a "bring her back to us tonight if she let's you know that it's time" and "you need to think about her quality of life from here on out". The next day I took her to another vet and when they straightened her leg for an xray her hip popped back into place, no fracture!! $126 was the bill and not ONE mention from anyone at this office of putting her down. She left this office walking on all four legs and she is still doing fine 2 days later! Will her hip pop back out at some point - yes, but what a relief for the time being!! What a horrible experience for any pet lover. I do not recommend this place or I should say the particular Vet/Nurse that I encountered there.

Oh man, what to say? Usually if someone is going to an emergency veterinarian they aren't set up for a very pleasant experience. This is the night my 9.00 adopted kitty turned into a 1500.00 kitty... If only I could exponentially increase my own financial worth like that. The problem here is its a monopoly. This company has two locations and takes weekend and after hour calls. The private veterinarians in Lincoln do not and refer their patients here. That permits them to charge astronomical prices for relatively straight forward procedures. My tabby, Dr. Indiana Jones, apparently had been suffering from a struvite crystal blockage, not a UTI as my vet had suspected. To catheterize him at 2 am on a Sunday, give him some pain meds and monitor him till Monday morning was over 1,000... Scary crazy. The two days of monitoring my vet did on him, plus meds, two sets of blood work, and housing cost me only around 350. I'm not saying the vet care wasn't good. In fact the on call vet was very nice, gave me diet recommendations to prevent this from happening again, and the vet assistants seemed to give Dr. Indie Jones lots of attention. The facilities were clean and new as well. I also realize that after hour appointments will naturally cost more. I'm also in healthcare and my after hour appointments are also more expensive... But that steep of an increase is just plain cornhusker cray cray.

Putting an animal down is never easy.. especially on a Sunday when your regular vet is closed. We made a trip to Capital City animal clinic only to find they don't have a vet on staff on Sundays. We called Vet. Emergency services and brought our kitty down. I can't say enough about the staff.. the care they took with a 19 year old cat was amazing. They were tender and loving and helped make his last minutes very comfortable. After he left us, they allowed us as much time as we needed in the private exam room.Thank you for helping make a horrible experience one that was not so horrible.

My dog got injured and this was the only vet open at the time. They treated me and my baby so well. Checked him over and supplied him with the necessary meds for the pain. Thank you!

Great experience and excellent care.I was traveling from UT to FL and my 70lb Black Lab came down with a case of vomiting and diarrhea on the first day. My wife found this group on the internet and I showed up on a Sunday night around 6pm. Everyone who I interacted with that night was just great with animals. He was seen within 30 minutes of filling out paperwork (I was third in line) and the vet on staff did a thorough exam of him. They gave me a menu of items to choose from with respect x-rays, Giardia tests, and bloodwork. I opted for medication to stop the nausea, antibiotics that would deal with any bacteria, dog Imodium to stop the diarrhea, bland dog food in a can, and probiotics. They also gave him some fluids subcutaneously to ensure he wasn't dehydrated. We were on our way by 8pm. Everything they gave me worked and the next two days passed with no other incident. By the time I got home, he was pretty much back to normal. A true life-saver on such a long journey. Two more days of what happened on day one would have been horrible. Many thanks to this group!!!

AT ALL COST AVOID taking your animal here. We took our 6 month old puppy here after she had been not eating and puking. They took X-rays that showed something in her stomach. The vet was unsure what it was but stated that they would keep her overnight to monitor the situation. The next morning we got a call stating that our puppy was doing much better and was no longer puking and was eating so we could come pick her up. When we picked up our puppy they handed us our dog without an explanation for what was causing her to be sick and without any discharge paperwork. Our dog continued puking so the next morning we decided to take her to our primary vet. The primary vet took an X-ray and it was determined that she needed emergency surgery due to carpet being wrapped around her intestines. The vet stated that if we wouldve waited another day our puppy wouldn't have made it. Moral of the story we spent $800 at the emergency vet for them to do nothing and to almost lose our dog. We have tried calling them to complain and they have yet to give us a call back. We also have yet to receive the discharge paperwork they promised they would sent to us. Horrible and negligent customer service!!!!!!!!

The experience I got here was used car salesman. Using fear tactics to rush me into signing papers for one thing after another. They went back on their word on multiple occasions. They would bring one offer I would ask questions, they would get nervous, walk out and offer another hefty price all while telling me my dog could die any moment. Here I am a week later dog still alive. Thank goodness I stuck to my gut feeling and got the hell out of there and got other opinions from the other vets in town. This location will pull your heart strings and take advantage of your vulnerability so beware.
