Those commies will never find me here

Cool, older post office that's been serving Benson and surrounding areas for many decades. Not a bad spot to set up a P.O. Box for shaky online businesses, either. I head here every so often to mail a package or occasionally pick one up. Staff is always friendly. Sometimes they're downright silly, which I enjoy. I've never seen this post office super packed like a lot of the others I visit.Bonus that it's a fallout shelter in case dystopia really is around the corner. Honestly, it's a relic from the Cold War era, which is pretty cool. I think a US president also visited here way back when. I forget which one. I'll do a little research and report back later.

So far only had to deal with them by phone, but we recently moved to the area and found this was our post office. We submitted a new resident card, left a note for our postal worker (all of which was accepted and a return note left)We started getting SOME of our mail, but still many packages were being held at the post office (without a note left in our box, we were simply getting tracking notifications). We submitted redelivery requests which were being ignored so had to call the post office. Called immediately at opening time, and was put on hold for 15 minutes without even being asked my tracking number. They acted as if it was my fault the package was delayed at the post office....and are refusing to deliver the package unless I pick it up at the post office.

the grumpy guy working at 2:30 pm Aug. 19, 2019 in the front lobby needs to go to the back of the house he is consistently rude every time he has the opportunity to get a word in with me, I drop packages off there daily and I am sick of his attitude. management please address this I have let it slide like ten times but this eleventh time just left me really wanting to let higher-ups know that there is a bad apple representing your Benson location, he is always a jerk and I am just going to drive to Saddle Creek location and add the extra mileage into my tax write-offs I guess until you re-assign that guy. I am sure this is not the first complaint, the guy acts like someone just woke him up and spit in his cheerios.

A surprisingly longer line this Saturday but I was relieved of my wait when the magical question gets asked, "who is just picking up?" oh my relief and joy when I was able to quickly present my golden ticket and leave. There is always friendly faces here just like every other post office. It's old building does offer an extra dose of charm.

They have a worker in there named Lola who is very rude, she acted like she was going to get a manager then hung up in my face and I had to call back 10 or more times to speak with someone else (which by the way she told me wasn't anyone there but her) who found my package in less than 2 minutes then she connected me back to Lola and she hung up again because she didn't want to help me so I had to keep calling back until she finally said your package is here after telling me that my tracking number was invalid but I had just tracked the package online so I knew it wasn't invalid

This is the worst post office in Omaha. I usually go way out of my way to avoid going here. I used it years ago to mail a package out. Stood in a long line just to have the grumpy and rude postman reject my package due to some small issue he had with the labeling. Left that office and went to the one on Saddlecreek and had no issues with the way it was done. Tried going there last week because I had a few packages that needed mailed and I was going to a friends near by. Had everything done as usual when dropping off at other post offices around town. I had a label with the priority marks cut off and just the white tape for the TO and FROM on it for the address. The rude postwoman told me to rip the label off because she could tell it was from a priority label even without the markings on it. Fair enough I went to the counter in the lobby and did as she instructed and ripped it off and rewrote all the address information in marker on the box. Stood back in line and went back to her. When she rang up the package she informed me that it would be shipping priority mail and my original label would have been acceptable for the package with a smile. I like going to the post office and using their services and having the human contact when doing business. After the time from my first poor experience and using this office location again figuring things had changed I was wrong. Saddlecreek and the post office by Cherry Hills are my go to's and have professional postmen and postwomen who are very helpful and understanding.
