Hey Yelp, it's a Postal EMPORIUM, not a Post Office. I'm not sure why they call it an emporium, but it may have to do with the fact that it closed for lunch between 12:45 and 2:00 and unlike most normal locations, they don't open at all on Saturdays. As far as I can tell one woman runs the whole show here. Because of that there's almost always a line, but she's great as her job so it moves fairly quickly. Despite the lack of manpower this is a full service retail location, not merely a pickup/dropoff point. You can ship packages anywhere in the world, buy money orders and stamps etc. The line can get long, especially right before the 12:45 shutdown. If all you're doing is dropping off a pre-labeled package, you might want to consider the 21st and Leavenworth location.

This location is centered in a business district where people run errands over their lunch break. However, this entire office closes from 12:45-2:00. And when they are open, the waits are outrageously long.

Ah the post office. A place few people get excited to go, but a common stop for many. I don't know about you, but most of my thoughts about post offices aren't exactly bright and cheery - long lines, grumpy employees, and frustratingly confusing shipping options spring to mind. Thankfully, the Post Office at 16th and Farnam is a refreshing change from these stereotypes! The two regular employees are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they get to know their regulars, which I really appreciate. Tammy in particular is always super cheerful. They also move the line along as quickly as possible, and are always apologetic if things drag (not necessary, but appreciated!). Furthermore, any time I've had questions or been uncertain about they best way to ship something, they've always cheerfully offered helpful suggestions. My only criticism is that they have relatively short hours, and are not open on Saturdays. This means I either need to slip out of work or go to to a different post office when I want to ship something. Personally, I'd rather play hooky from work than go somewhere else.

I have a PO Box here and I check in on it pretty often. The main work force here are friendly, if a bit crass. I don't mind the office, but it's hours are misleading. It is officially open until 5pm, but only for drops and box owners. No postal services are offered after 4:30. They are also open 9-12 on Saturday. The lunch hour is very strange, being closed to services for two solid hours in the middle of the day.

I really wanted to give a solid three star review...I've always been helped by friendly people, but their hours, especially the obnoxiously long lunch break in the afternoon is very irksome...Those of us who work downtown sometimes don't have any choice but to need the post office during our lunch breaks and with it being closed at prime lunch break hours, that really puts us all in a bind...if they should change the policy then I very much look forward to giving a better review...

Three stars primarily due to limited hours. Located downtown, this small post office has all your basics covered from PO Boxes, stamps, boxes, etc. I have mailed things across town and across the globe from here and while I find a couple of the employees to be a bit short and direct in their attitude, they have always been efficient and knowledgable. The biggest downside is the limited hours. A year or two ago, they started closing for a couple hours in the middle of the afternoon. Probably budgetary in nature, but I have forgotten on occasion only to walk over and see them closed down. Other than that, it is a pretty convenient spot available for those who work and live downtown.

I know, it's a post office. But the people who work here always go above and beyond. And, there's never a line.
