US Post Office

I made an appointment with the Passport Services here. As a first time passport applicant, I was SO nervous. Not sure why, but I was having those "DMV" feelings, where you go and will likely forget something.When I got their for my 12:30 appointment I was given papers to fill out and the staff was friendly. When I completed my papers and 12:30 came the clerk was super sweet. She knew I was nervous and eased all my worries and was thorough going through the paperwork and assessing my needs. We opted to expedite the passports as our trip was just outside the 10-12 week range. While there was some assurance it would arrive in time, we didn't want to risk it. A women walked in 20 minutes late for her appointment and she was told to reschedule. My husband also was 5 minutes late for his appointment and was told to reschedule so DO NOT miss your appointment, come early and wait otherwise you'll have to come back. I normally dread these types of appointments, but I had a really great experience with both the clerks and the service. They're not a lot of passport offices in Omaha, but I do recommend this one.

They had terrible costumer service, the best worker there is named Manny. The website is crammed and needs to be easier to navigate. Be more clear when doing passports. Such as when your 15,16,17 you have to get a new passport and can't renew. Stop telling the staff to say "You have to make an appointment". It's very infuriating when u have to go to the post office and you tell someone that. Or when your not busy and you still say you have to make an appointment. There's not many post offices that do passports anymore. It's supposed to be easy, it's nothing busy easy.

Unfortunately, this is the closest full-service USPS location near my house.Every time I stop in, there's a line nearly out the door and one employee helping customers. Not to say that they're understaffed. There's no shortage of employees chatting at closed terminals or hanging out in the office - on display, for all to see, through open windows & a glass door.I'd take a trip to the DMV with malfunctioning climate control, full of screaming toddlers over this place any day.

I would never describe any visit to the post office as enjoyable; however, in this case I would. Jackson is an exemplary employee at the office and made my unordinary laborious transaction pleasant. I willing went back in line 3 times so I would not hold up other customers and so I could continue to work with Jackson. This branch was voted the happiness in the Midwest -and I would say the world- in my experience. I almost don't want to post this because I don't want them to become bombarded with customers but seriously I will never go to another branch in Omaha. Leaving a post office in a better mood than I had been in when I first entered is unheard of but I swear this was my experience. Keep up the good work!! Excellent service, knowledge, and very efficient.

Staff was rude and didn't greet me so I just stood there awkwardly, a lady finally acknowledged me and asked if I was there for a passport. I held up the package in my hand and said no I'm here to return this. She seemed rather annoyed and got a man to help me. She then mumbled something under her breath and walked away. They were not busy and seemed genuinely annoyed that I was there.

I had a certified letter mailed from Harlan IA on September 15th. It was in Omaha on the 17th and never left there. I made many calls to the post office in Shelby ia, Avoca ia and Harlan ia trying to find this letter and when it was going to be delivered. Long story short they told me to request a refund. So some in Omaha dropped the ball. WTF

The staff is always friendly, they are open later than other post offices, and there is never a long line when I go.

My complaint is about mail delivery today 1/23/2021, Saturday. We had no mail addressed to us in our box. However, our mailbox had mail in it that was addressed to neighbors across the street whose box was on a different set of 4 mailboxes. Seems like the mail delivery was all messed up! Our mail could have gone to some else! It concerns me that stimulus checks are being mailed out! We did get our check in the mail a few days ago. Glad it was not supposed to be in our box today!

Third experience with this location for passport applications and renewals for our kids and us. We arrived at our scheduled time, with all the required paperwork and copies of ID as required. Including getting a photo for our teenager, we were in and out in under 10 minutes. The staff has always been efficient, knowledgeable, and made a very mundane task fun. Thanks for being so helpful! Highly recommend this location!
