Amazing coffee shop/bookstore/ inclusive and welcoming church.Great coffee menu in a beautiful, sunlit, clean space. Staff are kind and helpful. An emphasis here on social justice and human rights including sexuality. This is not what I would consider a typical religious bookstore/church. It's a wonderful option if you are looking for something a little different.

Delightful coffeehouse, book store and United Methodist church - a true urban abbey in the heart of Omaha's Old Market. This is your safe haven for inclusive and progressive theological resources as well as advocacy, plus they make an excellent latte. Their books are well curated, with the children's and youth sections and devotionals especially noteworthy for their depth of selection. Gift hunters will appreciate the fair trade section, along with an assortment of notebooks and candles and one of Omaha's largest and most unique sticker holdings Check their website, Instagram and Facebook for special events and worship times

Urban Abbey is located on the Old Market road where there are multiple restaurants and cafes. This cafe has sufficient parking available outside. The cafe is led by a young team and they are doing such a good job!I ordered Iced Mocha coffee and it was so good. The exact kind of coffee you need after a long tiring day. The team is very sweet and welcoming. The cafe has less sitting options and its a cafe with a very minimal interiors but perfect for a take out. They also have bookstore inside the cafe that one can checkout while waiting for the order!

I stumbled upon the Urban Abbey while visiting the Farmer's Market that is held right next door. I was looking for any sort of caffeine, and I'm glad I happened upon this neat little spot! The Urban Abbey isn't just a coffee shop, it's also a bookstore and church. They are pet friendly, and I saw several dogs inside enjoying their time at the shop with their owners! There is plenty of seating and there was a good blend of individuals sitting quietly and reading or studying, and groups visiting. The shop isn't crazy loud - it's very peaceful inside. I ordered a dirty chai and enjoyed the drink. It wasn't game-changing coffee, but it was good and I really enjoyed the environment in the shop. Definitely a nice place to stop in while downtown!

The sign outside this little treasure in Omaha states "Coffee, Cause, Communion". We love this message and the commitment to social justice that this coffee spot represents. In addition to coffee there is a nice bookstore here with a variety of books focused on spiritual as well as social justice themes. This wonderful establishment also is the only place we have encountered in all of our travels where there was a free supply of feminine hygiene products available in the women's room. So generously thoughtful! The menu included a selection of specials called the Coffee Seeking Justice People. We ordered a Marsha P. Johnson, which is a honey lavender latte, and a R.B.G., a black and white mocha latte. The honey lavender latte had a delightful taste of honey and lavender mixed with the rich espresso which was a truly refreshing combination. The mocha latte was a delicious mix of flavors and very satisfying. We loved this delectable coffee repository and the message of justice and equity that it conveys. We will come back every time we are in Omaha and will also tell our friends in the area to stop by for coffee and more.

During the week before my graduation in Omaha, my friends and I had an Airbnb nearby. One morning, we really needed a pick-me-up and looked for nearby coffee shops. We wanted to try a new one, so we decided on Urban Abbey Cafe. I ordered a Chai Tea Latte cold and for a little snack, my friend and I shared their chocolate muffin. The Chai tea latte was delicious and so full of flavor. The chocolate muffin was warmed to perfection - the chocolate chips were deliciously melted and the muffin was moist. I'm so glad we chose to visit this coffee shop because the baristas were also very friendly and knowledgeable!

For serious reals, I legit MISS this place. I was in town for a conference, and needed a cool place to work. This cafe is awesome. It has everything mobile coffee shop workers of the world need -- free wifi, great natural light, excellent tea/coffee, snacks, and a whole bunch of books! I absolutely loved the feminist/queer flare of the place, and if I lived locally, I'd probably be there every day! If you live nearby and haven't checked this place out, you totally should do yourself a favor and get your butt over there RIGHT NOW.

Stumbled upon this place while wandering in 35 degree weather in an unknown city, early in the morning searching for Starbucks. As the wind whipped against my lips causing them to burn, I saw this cafe out of the corner of my eyes. Could it be?! COFFEE? As I took shelter from the wind I was greeted by a friendly counter person and ordered a honey lavender latte. As I waited, I gazed at homemade gift items and random books for sale. I looked for to see a woman drinking coffee holding her dog. Due to my curious nature I asked the counterperson if this was a dog friendly spot? Any size of dog can come here? I was informed they are not only a Dog friendly spot but they love ALL animals. Guys. Do you know how long I have wanted to visit a cat cafe??? This is it. They allow cats!!! Pet your cat and drink your coffee. This is it. They also had chickens hatching in a corner. Yes you read that correctly. My coffee was magical and I believe they said 10% of these proceeds go to a non profit? I forget. Anyway. Cool spot. Check it out. The cat cafe!!!

Solid, unspectacular coffee. Also had a cookie that was not very good. I found a lot of the vibe of the place to be virtue signaling. But maybe that's just me--clearly a lot of people dig it. It does seem like a good place to study or work since there's a decent amount of seating and it wasn't terribly busy.

I was excited to take my girlfriend here because she is a lover of books and coffee. Alas, neither were consumable. Coffee tasted like it was made with lukewarm water and powder and the book selection was poor.
