You UNO and UNL do not share all of their credits when you try to transfer that would be my first complaint and they don't let people finish their degree unless they're paid up in full so it keeps them from progressing and getting their degree. Their department is also very unhelpful as far as helping students graduate and suggesting courses. I have some good experiences to but unfortunately those outweigh those.

UNO is a fantastic university. Not only do they offer an excellent education for undergrads and grad students alike, it's surprisingly affordable. As an alum, I couldn't be more proud to see how it's grown in the last few years. During my undergrad years in the early to mid 2000s, I spent my time bumping between classes, buildings and, for a while there, majors. There was always a friendly face, it seemed, willing to strike up a conversation in front of the student center or library or just waiting outside of a classroom.Back then, UNO was easing out of being an urban commuter campus. The first rounds of dorms had been built and the campus was just starting to come to life with around-the-clock amenities. Still, the school was entrenched in Division II sports, living in the shadow of UN-L and the Huskers just a few miles away in Lincoln. Now, UNO has a full fledged D-I sports program, riding high off of the hockey team's first appearance in the Frozen Four. Both the Dodge Street and Pacific Street campuses are rapidly filling in parking lots with new educational, administrative, recreational and residential buildings, anchored on the south end with Aksarben Village and the soon-to-be-opened Baxter Arena. At the end of my time at UNO, I wound up with an English degree and a great job shortly after graduating. I couldn't ask for much more than that. Funny thing, as good as I had it, there's no better time than right now to be a Mav!

My alma mater and I'm proud to be a Mav. I loved all my professors with the exception of one Geology prof and an Art prof (I won't bother giving their names). That's just part of school...you can't like all your professors.Math teachers can be tough on below-average students. You might think Cultural Diversity classes are the biggest waste of your time but you know what, that's also one of the easiest ways to get an A - if you put enough work. It's neat how they send you a letter and post your name on their website if you make it on the dean's list.I was an Art student and loved every moment of it. I've met a lot of great people. Gary, Henry and Dave are all awesome professors and I enjoyed their classes. I love the Art building and Durham.Parking can be terrible at times. I've had my fair share of parking tickets...$300 in one semester. Campus security is more concerned about issuing tickets rather than security. Got my tire cover stolen at the parking lot one year...and my entire bumper another year and they have no way of tracking it.Overall, I loved my college life at UNO. I'm not sure what people are complaining about but if you hate paying for college tuition then don't bother going to college at all. Problem solved! You could study in other states...i.e: Nevada and pay more and get extremely poor quality education. You can be on the President's list and you won't get a letter or anything!

Went to see the musical Spring Awakenings. I don't believe I have been to the theater there since my own college days back in the 80's. I love the theater. I don't necessarily like the way they do the seating but they did not argue with me (shortly before the show they asked me to move towards the middle as they had a full theater and I explained that I would not - I had arrived early to make sure I got an end seat and I didn't think it was right that someone comes in a the last minute and gets and end seat.) The set up is great, the bathrooms are plentiful (what public bathroom at a theater couldn't really use a few more toilets). The people in the performance were first rate. I definitely will be adding myself to a list so I am notified when there are new performances. The one thing I am frustrated with is that there should be a discount for alum.

I love UNO. Originally, I attended UNL but I'm glad I transferred!I don't even know where to start. Maybe the best way is to express my top 5 favorite things:1. Great resources -- such as the math labs, accounting labs, science labs, etc., -- which allow you to succeed and seek help if you need it and it's free (well, at least no additional cost). 2. Shuttles. Both from Crossroads (free parking) and Pacific Campus so you don't have to find additional parking.3. Sushi and Wohlner's sandwiches! Although rather pricey, at least it's there to enjoy. 4. Professors -- wonderful, resourceful, and intelligent. Maybe it's just CPACS, but I have no complaints. These professors are passionate and helpful. 5. Beautiful campus! Clean and well kept. Even in the winter, they salt the sidewalks so I don't feel endangered. Trees everywhere and many different sculptures and little garden areas. I love it. Only cons is parking; parking absolutely sucks especially between 11-1. There are parking structures and parking at the churches across the street, but who wants to walk? But, this place is very affordable, financial aid office is awesome and resourceful, and there's always something to do (clubs, events, etc). If you're gonna stay in Omaha, be a Mav!

I finished my degree in 2005 at UNO (at 32) and really, when I started I just figured it would be a better school then the local "diploma mills".It turns out that it is a really great school. With one glaring exception (if you are in CS or MIS you'll know who he is) my instructors were great; very knowlegable, very fair, and very enthusiastic. When coupled with very affordable tuition this school is a great option.

Expensive, no where to park, if you don't have a parking pass you get fined by the city or the colleges mini DMV. People are rude at this college.
