Nebraska classic if you ask me. Been a tradition to stop every fall since I can remember. Not much has changed and yet it has. New pickling veggies I never used to notice. The dilly beans!! Soo good. Must have along with either turnovers or the cinnamon apple donuts. It is a family owned orchard so they don't run super staffed all the time like a commercial business. Often one or two friendly faces unless its peak season. Restrooms always clean since they are right off the highway. They have a small seating section if needed or while doing a wine flight. I haven't been out in the orchard in some years but they have a wonderful area set up for kids. Apple picking wagons when it's time.

Union Orchard south of Omaha is relatively close to where we live. Apple season is about over, but they were very accommodating by driving us to a specific type of tree to pick a bag of apples. They have King David apples, which are Bookguy's favorite variety. But the apples ripened early and were already picked. Normally the orchard has hayracks pulled by tractors on weekends and that's how they take customers to various trees. We were there on a weekday so a guy drove us in a pickup. We were able to find enough good apples still on the tree to fill a bag. It was tempting to pick apples that looked okay off the ground, but we were advised not to since wild animals in the area forage the ground drops. The shop there has a lot of other good things to eat: jellies, jars of canned veggies, apple cider, popcorn, baking mixes, and cookies, to name a few. You can also order pies for the holidays. The wine tasting room features Nebraska wines. There's outdoor seating too. Even late in the season there's plenty of reasons to visit Union Orchard.

The store is sparse, and the apple cider at this orchard--where you would naturally expect the cider to be made here, or at least someplace local--is from Kansas. The same stuff we can find in our local grocery store for a better price. As for Covid precautions, the staff wears valved facemasks, so they do nothing to protect their customers. There is no hand sanitizer to wipe the cart with or the use on our hands. But they do require customers have masks and only allow a certain number of people in the store at one time. All in all not a great experience and not worth the drive from Omaha. Too bad. The orchard has been around since 1875. This is a sad, disappointing place when it could be so much more.

Save your time and money! Staff is rude and product is over priced and taste terrible. Give your money to an orchard that sells quality product and knows what customer service is.

Great place to get some wine, absolutely great experience! Tasted some wine for $6.00 and get a cute stemless wine glass, worth the stop! Definitely coming back again!

This review is for the caramel apple pie. Food: Whoever came up with this recipe is a genius. The pie we purchased from Union Orchard oozed with caramel and something that tasted like cream cheese mixed in with the apples (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/union-orchard-union?select=QJs6_Y_m1But5wZN7i9YSg#w5DPzXZJJ7k6Cdk6vBLkXg). It was quite possibly the best apple pie I have ever had. We stopped by here after visiting the Arbor Day Farm and thought our friend Vivian L. could use some pie. She told us she was on a diet, but ended up eating a sizable wedge. No one can resist the power of the pie!Atmosphere: There is another orchard down the road which is much bigger and closes earlier. We randomly decided to come here because we didn't make it to our original destination on time. It was pretty empty when we stopped by. They have anything and everything an apple lover would want stocked in a huge building accessible from a gravel driveway. Service: The family working here was very welcoming. They noticed that our rental car had Minnesota plates and asked us if we were from that area. Synopsis: Gah. Really want another pie :'(.

This is the less busy cousin to Arbor Day Farms or Kimmel Orchard during the Applejack Festival. Don't get me wrong, it's still out of control busy during that weekend, but this is a nice spot to stock up on apple doughnuts and other needs on your way out of town - or if you can't wait to get into town.

Expensive Expensive Expensive. Not going next year. They want 35 bucks for 10 lbs of apples. 18 dollars for 12 donuts. Caramel apple 8 bucks. These businesses are so greedy in nebraska city we will never go again. Also there was nothing to do. Buy more stuff. What a trap.

Cute place and was excited to see a smaller family run orchard.Unfortunately that is the only positive, caramel apples were mushy and I could of bought a better apple at Hy Vee besides the fact they were $6 dollars a piece. Also bought caramel apple popcorn where again very disappointed with the popcorn lacking flavor and was old tasting.I will not ever go back with all the other options available.

We found this store and were hoping to buy an apple pie. It was serendipitous. Fresh apple pies with caramel sauce had just come out of the oven. We brought it home and it melted in our mouths. The crust was light and buttery. The apples were fresh, crisp with the right amount of sugar and cinnamon. I've had many pies in my life and this was exceptional in taste and texture. I highly recommend that if you are in the area to stop in and buy one.
