Underwood Motel

Walked my dog around the back perimeter of the motel and was told by a lady that came out that we couldn't be there because it was private property. I did notice once I was out front that there were a couple of small signs saying to keep dogs off grass. I did not stay at the motel, just stopping for gas and bathroom break. I just couldn't believe that in 88 degree weather where all of the shaded tree areas were over grass, that a walk around the motel would be outlawed!

Not a first choice... but if you need a room and your passing thru Underwood IA, then you will get a room. Nothing more nothing less. It is cheap, the water is hot. There is a bar right next door and a gas station. I took the pictures... The guy running the place is friendly

This place isn't AS bad as the previous views have stated... although, it's not a place I would want to visit again. Positives: our bed and sheets are clean. Although, there's some sort of thing on one of the beds blankets. The blankets are soft, haven't tried the bed out yet, but it seems very old so I don't have high hopes. WiFi is free, and has good connection. Has a microwave. They allow pets. Negatives: FIRST off, the guy in the office is sleazy and deceptive and has horrible customer service. The room as a whole isn't very clean. There's cobwebs in places, stains everywhere in the kitchen/bathroom area. The fridge doesn't work. There's no tissues, only the empty box. It's super outdated and not kept up. There's also some sort of mold in the corner that I just hope will not get us sick, honestly. The carpet has dirt on it. Only half the lights work. Anyway, it beats being stranded in your car, but if the motel across the street is open, go there because it's cheaper for the same thing. The rooms may even be better for all I know. But I'm glad we'll be out of here first thing in the morning.

This place defines the word "dump." Nothing was clean. It was so disgusting, I hesitated about taking a shower; the spider crawling up the side of the shower ended it pretty quickly. There is nothing positive to say. If you are looking for a place to stay, you're better off parking your car and sleeping in the ditch.

This hotel is the definition of a dump. If you are having any thought about staying here turn around and go somewhere else. We were in the room for about 10 minutes until we realized that we could not stay at this horrible hotel. The room was absolutely gross. There was bugs everywhere and it was overall gross. We went to get a refund after being in the room for 10 minutes and we were told that no refunds were allowed. It would be much better to just sleep in your car instead of staying at this hotel. This place is TRASH.

Under new management and completely new inside. Clean and bright with overhead lighting option and easy direct access to the room from the parking space.convenient location off I-80. Kind and responsive staff. A great way to support small business.

Stayed in Room 115 a week ago. This room is infested with bedbugs. Was awaken by being bit and bugs in the bed. Of course no refunds.

I wasn't even given a key. Because the door didn't lock. Woke up around midnight itching. I was covered in bed bug bites. Changed my clothes and went out and slept in my car. Next morning told them what happened, she just said no one told here there was bugs before. But thank you for telling me. My face and left hand were horribly swollen. No refund. I'll never be back and will make sure no one i know ever goes there

I have stayed in this Hotel for 2 months , and it was clean and nice . The management never bothered me ,and any time I needed anything they took care of me right away . Its a great place ,and Rob ,and Rita are very kind . My husband and I travel a lot we are IBEW and I live in Florida ,and will recommend this motel . Entill next year Rita ,and Rob . some people just want be negative my room was clean ,and management was very polite .

Dump ! Bugs ,bugs & more bugs! Filthy I would rather sleep in a dog house. Look at the room first. No refunds I should have known
