Underwood Bar

Underwood has never treated me poorly, and im fairly certain that they never will. It's a no frills dive bar so be ready for that going in. That having been said, the Underwood Bar in Old Dundee offers a laid-back atmosphere, affordable drinks, and a friendly crowd that's perfect for a no-frills dive bar experience in Omaha. The atmosphere is divey with a pool table, jukebox, and plenty of space to relax. Drinks are cheap and the quality of the drinks is surprisingly good. The service is consistently friendly and helpful, with bartenders happy to chat and offer recommendations. Overall, the Underwood Bar is worth checking out for its affordable drinks, laid-back atmosphere, and friendly crowd.

I was passing thur and I seen this lil bar tucked off in the corner. When I walked in the bartender was very inviting and assisted me as soon as I sat at the bar. I ordered a margarita but there wasn't any margarita mix. I was very disappointed about that, the bartender did offer to make something close to a margarita but I declined. I ended up getting a crow apple pineapple, that was just delightful. The atmosphere is kinda loud but there's plenty to do, There's a pool table, video games and nice music. What I enjoyed the most was the price of the drinks affordable...

This bar has been around for a long time and it shows. It's the epitome of a dive bar but at least the bottled beer is cold. We go on occasion to play darts but try not to stay long to avoid having to use the restrooms here. However, last time we were there, we did notice all the old photos on one of the walls had been removed and the smell of urine wasn't as prevalent as it usually is so perhaps there's some clean up in the works. We will still go to support the neighborhood, but it's not our first pick.

The 'Wood is a grimy place that hasn't really changed in decades. Which is kind of perfect considering the slight upitty-ness that Dundee exudes most of the time. This is a great spot to get to know the longtime locals of the neighborhood, both young and old. Yeah, the tables are wobbly. And sticky. And the (men's) bathroom is one of the grossest places west of the Mississippi, but the fact remains that the Underwood is a classless watering hole, perfect for all walks of life during all hours of the day.Don't you hate when you order a giant beer and they give you a plastic mug because they ran out of glass ones? I sure do. In times like that, look to the cooler behind the bar -- that's where you'll find a decent selection of bottled beer.

It was a warm Friday evening when we arrived at the Underwood. The parking lot was very small and very full. I had to parallel park inside the lot, and the lot had only one entrance -- behind me. We ended up leaving the car here for the next couple of bars.As I took the picture of the outside, a woman ducked away saying "Oh, I can't be in your photo!" my friend jokingly informed her we were with the FBI.Underwood was one of our top picks and we soon found out why, this bar bills itself as The Hub of the Universe.The bar was pretty full, and as we started taking he indoor pictures, the women who had been outside asked what we were doing. My friend explained to her the trip we were on and how we had been out since Wednesday morning on a quest to have a drink at 100 bars.She thought that sounded awesome, and immediately turned to her friends and told them what we were doing. "Wow! That's like one of those things people people talk about doing but never actually go and do," said one of them."Are you guys talking about anal sex?" asked another woman sitting catty-corner to the first group.That end of the bar erupted in laughter and word about what we were doing spread throughout the bar. We had a great time hanging out here and visiting with the locals. We did end up visiting 101 bars during out 5-day journey, and Underwood was definitely one of the best.

This is the kind d of dive bar I would drink out of at home in Midtown Kansas City.. Chips hanging on the wall. Cheap Big Ass Beers. And super friendly drunks to entertain you.

I went to this bar for the first time on a late Saturday afternoon with some friends. I felt the bartender was super. She was fast and ready to please. I found the bathroom in great shape and the door locked. I feel this is going to be my new bar as I don't live too far away but not in Dundee. I really enjoyed myself on a Saturday afternoon. Can't wait to see what a later evening visit will bring. Cudoos to that sweet bartender. I truly like this place.Linda H.

Good food good service excellent patronage would go again, iconic Omaha landmark!, neighborhood ambiance good, parking is congested, Warren Buffet had Buffets grocery story across street for years the Underwood establishment is also a good choice ! Safe neighborhood is an added attraction!! Still like a neighborhood bar!!Drinks and food medium prices!!!

Great neighborhood bar, good place for small group gathering with low drink prices during happy hour.
