Treasurer's Office & DMV

Well the DMV is one of those places that brings up a lot of dread. All of us are legally required to go there multiple times throughout our lives and it always costs money. This location has been updated a lot over the years so I recommend always looking online for all of their requirements and bring everything before coming to save yourself from return trips. The other day was no different went got assigned a ticket # and then proceeded to wait with massive amounts of other people. The robotic machine announcing each distant number while you try to not look around but it's fascinating yet awkward to people watch. So many different types of people. Finally I was called and found a register the person wasn't thrilled to assist but finally got it done then my massive surprise total came up and had to pay with my card then told it's a $10 fee to use which made the total even higher. All I have to say is good luck! But at least I got it done with for now.

Of all the cities I've ever lived in, this DMV here in Lincoln operates so efficiently. Even on busy days, you're in and out in no time. For the first time, I don't dread going to the DMV!!

I had to renew my plates and my license today. It used to be a very smooth and efficient process. Today, I found out that someone in charge decided to move driver's license services to a different location. Leave it to government to take a department that works well and screw it up. I'll give this location credit for still being efficient with the services they still offer. I don't appreciate having to drive across town just to renew my license.

This was the best experience by far, I have ever had a motor vehicle department. I have been to them all over the country and all i can say is wow. The people were efficient and friendly, they got me into the process and done within 15 minutes. This is completely contrary to the LA DMV which a reservation, just means you have a time to put on your calendar, or the NYC DMV which took 8 hours for the same process.Nebraska, I am a huge fan.

I've been here a few times for licensing and registration services. While this location seems perpetually busy, the staff have always been competent at keeping the lines moving and getting things done properly. Overall, if I need to get something done with licensing, titles, etc. I come here, and would recommend the location to others.

I went into the DMV to renew my drivers license. The man that helped me at the counter was very rude. He had red hair and a beard. He was very codisending to me. He said we are going to take a picture, and he just stared blankly at me. He didnt explain to me where to go or where to stand. He asked me if I spoke English. I said yes. Just really rude Service. That guy needs to work on his people skills.

Half the windows are closed most of the time. It never took this long to renew plates in TX with a county 10 times the size of Lancaster county do better

I've lived in 4 states in six years, so I have a fair number of reference points and this DMV in particular (we've been to two in Lincoln) was absolutely horrible.First we waited in line 30 minutes only to be told we were supposed to go to a different line (we were there for registration, in a line that said it was for registration). Then, after waiting another 30 minutes I was told I needed my marriage certificate. We had called in advance to find out what documents we needed because it's a long drive and this was not mentioned. I took off an entire day of work to get this done and now couldn't. But what angered me to no end is that marriage certificates are only required for women. My husband didn't need the certificate to register his car, only I needed one. I had my car before we married, it's MY car, and of course because most states don't make it easy for men to change their name in marriage only I did. So, in a system where only I could change my name, I am now penalized for *gasp* being a woman who owned property prior to marriage. Now I either have to find my marriage certificate or relinquish ownership of my car to my husband just to follow the law. And the extra icing on the cake was just how much the guy telling me this talked down to me, as though I was stupid. Y'know, I'm truly sorry I thought my husband and I would be held to equal goddamn standards of proof.

My wife and I recently relocated to Grand Island and have enjoyed two great customer experiences with the Hall County, Nebraska Treasurer's office! The well-trained and experienced staff is courteous, business-like, and efficient!
