Recently, I had the chance to visit Trade-A-Tape Comic Center in Lincoln, and it was such a great experience! This shop has an incredible selection of comics, both new and old. I was specifically on the hunt for the new Absolute Batman comics and found several issues I'd been wanting. On top of that, I've been trying to track down some older back issues of Wolverine Series 2, and I was thrilled to find several that have been missing from my collection. The staff was amazing--super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They even gave me a discount on my purchases since I was buying several books, which was a really nice touch.Beyond comics, they also have a fantastic selection of collectibles, including toys, posters, and other cool items. If you're into comics or collectibles, this place is definitely worth checking out. I'll absolutely be stopping by again!

Great comic book store. Lots of classics, including many I have trouble finding elsewhere because they aren't the high value classics. Also, good selection of new comics and graphic novels. The owners are super nice and really helpful. The best part? Cats! They have two big orange cats that hang around. I was in Lincoln for business and no sure I'll make it back again, but they have a website and I'm sure I'll be buying from them online in the near future.

If you are a back issue collector like myself, this is 100% your kind of place. This is a true old fashion comic shop, very little toy or game options if any but all the books you want from Golden age to Modern and all the new issues and Trade Paperbacks from past to present. Very well organized and very friendly customer service. If you can't find what you are looking for in the shop, don't worry, they have a basement that takes this shop from a very fine to mint condition. You are going to want to have a minimum 2 hours to spend down there. I had to head back home to Dallas and was on a time crunch so I regretfully had to hit the road before I was ready but I will try as hard as I can to get back to Trade-A-Tape Comic Center. This was by far the coolest Comic Shop I have been to. If you decide to go, plan on clearing your schedule for the day. Make sure you say hi to the residents of the establishments, two friendly orange Tabby Cats.

My first time in this shop was not like the other two reviews. I came in with transformer comics to trade, and the guy behind the counter told me they usually only take stuff from the sixties or older. Which, fine, whatever, they had a bunch of used comics that weren't that old, but I can understand not wanting to flood their shelves with a bunch of comics no one wants to read. I'm fine with that. I went looking for a specific comic and was having no luck. My wife asked for help, and immediately got the comic she was looking for, so I figured I'd try my luck. I guess I should have asked the guy who helped my wife. I asked the same guy behind the counter, who gave me a look as if he pitied me, and told me no, they only special order those books. Not, "no, but we can order it for you, would you like me to do that?", or, "I'm sorry sir, but if you want, we can have it ready for you in a week or so", just no. Not my idea of good customer service. I'm sorry Behind-the-counter-guy, if I was disturbing you from your work. I thought you were behind the counter to provide customer service, not to be the most unhelpful clod you could be. I went to Barnes and noble, looking for a different book, couldn't find it, asked, and had it in my hand almost immediately. This is why people don't go to comic book stores anymore if they haven't for years. Shoddy service and a holier than thou attitude keeps people who may not have an extensive knowledge of Secret Wars going to places where they don't feel like they're intruding in your temple. Needless to say, I will not be returning, and will actively discourage my less comic knowledgeable friends from going as well.

The folks there were super friendly. My sister and I went in just to check things out and the guy spent at least 30 minutes with us, chatting about comics and making recommendations. I'm from Dallas where there are many comic book stores and I was worried about the options in Lincoln, but I love this store and don't feel like I'm missing out on anything!

Huge selection of Comic Books. I am pretty sure this is Lincolns last remaining comic book store, and its a great store when looking for a specific comic, either new or old. They know their stuff and its a lot of fun to browse comics from series you have never seen or heard of before. I'd recommend checking it out if you, or your kids are even remotely into super heroes or comic book movies etc.

Trade-A-Tape has been my comic shop of choice for almost ten years. The owner is a great guy. Whether you are new, or a regular, he is friendly and helpful, as is his employee. They have a good selection of new issues weekly, and a solid TPB library. They do have a few side lines, used music and movies, the occasional statue//bust, a few posters, and the random ccg flavor of the month, but the real draw is their back issue collection. As their website says, they have over 200,000 back issues, some on display in the main room, but most in back rooms and the basement. I have spent many a pleasant hour in the back, or downstairs, digging through back issues and the selection is truly awesome. You can find nearly anything from the bronze age on, and even the silver age issues are surprisingly plentiful. I always leave with a lighter wallet than when I walk in, but it's never a bad thing.
