UPDATE: I spent the last three years studying at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where I got to meet the wonderful staff at Thompson Music. I have made purchases through their website prior to moving to Nebraska and was only more happy to meet and discuss gear with Jaime. I probably bugged her a little by spending hours at a time trying out different stuff, but she helped me discover mouthpiece and horn makers that I had never heard of or tried before. Her, Mike, and Amanda are extremely helpful in finding you the right gear to suit your needs without being one-sided or trying to up sale you.Upon graduation I moved back to California where I also presented at the 2016 ITG Conference in Anaheim. It was my first time at such a conference and I was a little overwhelmed with the number of exhibits selling all kinds of trumpet related items. After a couple days, I feel in love with a used Bach from the Thompson Music booth that was reasonably priced. I moved back to CA and end up buying a horn from a store I used to live near, who knew?There are of course, wonderful music stores where I live in the Bay Area, but Thompson's is the whole package with a lot of variety in stock. I look forward to doing business with them in the future!Even if you don't live near Nebraska, which is probably many of you, call and ask them questions! They are incredibly helpful!

Me and my wife have purchased two horns from Mike and both experiences were easy, enjoyable, and ended with both of us extremely happy. If there is ever a trumpet related item we need, Thompson music is the only place we will go!

I purchased a $200 item during the holidays. After having it for 10 days UNOPENED they would not allow me to return it. I will not do business with you again.

I've been a client of Michael Thompson's since I was in college in the early 2000's. At the time, she was basically running his business out of his basement. Over the last 15 years or so, I have watched his business grow from a basement side gig to being one of the premier trumpet specialty shops in the country.I'm now a full time professional trumpeter, and have bought several trumpets from Thompson Music, sold several through them, and I've purchased countless mouthpieces, and other supplies.Mike is "my guy," and I think you should be yours too. He's one of the best in the biz, and everyone would do well to do business with him! His staff is wonderful too!

For the past year my son has been taking piano lessons from Kylin at Thompson Music. We absolutely love her as a teacher and she is amazing with kids. We look forward to watching our kids learn piano from her over the years to come. We would highly recommend her for lessons and the wonderful and helpful staff at Thompson Music is an added bonus!!
