The Special Restaurant

They advertised the special of brats and sauerkraut on Omaha Eats and I knew I had to bring. He also tried a small cup of vegetable beef soup. It was a full plate of food! The potatoes looked wonderful. He took home over half but the soup was hearty. I had the turkey bacon Swiss on ciabatta. The spinach instead of lettuce was a delicious bonus. The fries were superb and reminded me of the old Woolworths cafe. Service from Jen was prompt and pleasant. She rattled off the different soups of the day they offer without a breath. We didn't have a muffin but they looked delicious! It's so nice to have a down home old fashioned cafe.

My family went here for lunch one day because I kept hearing how good the food was. I went with some type of grilled chicken and bacon sandwich on ciabatta bread with sweet potato fries. It was delicious! We only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Our server was busy, but we still received good service. I will definitely come back again.

I had to try The Special after hearing people rave about the food and the portions for the price! This place is a well oiled machine for sure. The amount of people willing to wait is a testament to how delicious it is! I ordered a skillet and it fed me and my husband for two days! Worth the drive to Bellevue. Also just get hollandaise on the side because you deserve it!

I heard this restaurant had huge portions, but I didn't really think that much about it. Good gosh, I ended up having three meals out of one order. I went with their well-known chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, and two eggs over medium. Not only was the hashbrowns and eggs plenty enough, but the chicken fried steak was large too. The meat was well breaded, and the gravy topped it off perfectly. This place did not disappoint, and I can see why it has such good reviews. I can't wait to bring my family here next time.

No shade to the older generation but where there's older people the food is usually GOOD!!! My assumption was correct!! I got the chicken fried chicken and gravy it comes with eggs cooked to your liking with hashbrowns and butter biscuit. My food was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and came out pretty fast. It was delicious!!! The place has an old school feel to it, clean and friendly staff. They even have a private event room which I thought was pretty neat. Whats even better is how affordable it is.I definitely recommend 8/10

Brought a friend here for the first time and it was amazing as always! Everything was cooked perfectly, the service was great, and the price can't be beat.

Food, service and price are all fair. We enjoyed our meal very much and will definitely return.

We picked this restaurant from reviews. My husband is on the quest for the best biscuits and gravy. These were pretty solid. Good flavor, almost had a hint of chicken bouillon in it. He absolutely loved the sausage links. I had the pancake platter with two eggs over medium and sausage patties. They had sugar free syrup!!! Coffee was good. They kept our cups full. The waitress was busy but made you feel she was paying attention to you. Interesting layout, a little loud, but had no problem talking and hearing your partner at the table.

Went to lunch with a colleague after hearing they had great sandwiches and breakfasts.I tried their special, a bacon and egg cheese burger. This was fantastic!Bun: soft, almost Krispy Kreme donut consistency without being sweet, sturdy, well proportioned brioche. Perfection! A+Patty: good size, well cooked, well spiced, tasty B+Add ons: well cooked, good options, perfectly executed! A+Fries: better than average BOf the burgers I've had in Omaha, this one is my favorite so far! The staff was swamped when we were there, but we still had great service.

Family cafe dining at its most basic and so good! We've never had bad service or bad food. There is sooo much food for the price that we always have leftovers. The regular menu is great but make sure to check out the specials board when you walk in. The best choices for the day are almost always found there.
