The Port

We were a bit hesitant to come because of previous reviews but it seems like they're making a conscious effort to change what people have been complaining about in the past.We showed up a little before 6 and was warned by the host (in the midst of training new hires, bless her heart) that multiple large parties would be coming in soon so we should order quickly.We were greeted by our server in a timely manner and she was quick to get our drink and food order in. The only thing we had to ask for was water and even that wasn't so bad.My dad had the chicken risotto and finished the whole thing and thoroughly enjoyed it. My mom got a pork chop pasta dish that was a bit heavy on the butter but, who really can complain about too much butter? I got a chicken pasta meal with veggies that was also a bit heavy, but definitely prepared well and delicious.The view is SPECTACULAR and definitely worth checking out. Overall, we went in with very little expectations and walked away thrilled we took a chance. I hope people in the future give it a shot, they really are trying to change their negative perception and I believe they're doing a great job.

We visit The Port each time we go to the lake. It's so fun to arrive by boat and listen to the band. The food is always outstanding one of the best wedge salads I've ever had. I do have to say the Cocktails were not very good this trip.

When we walked in the place was busy but not full capacity. We were told there were no tables and it would be a 30+ minute wait, but we could sit at the bar and order drinks (which we did) and even food if we choose to eat there. Since it was a celebration for a birthday we decided we would order an app to hold us over til the table was ready. We never got the chance to order that appetizer because our table was now ready within 10 minutes. Great service in my opinion. One couple still ordered the calamari and said it was great. Never had it in stick format, but still good nonetheless. Both of them also ordered the steak sando and loved them to go with their pinot noir bottle. I ordered the jack Daniel's pork chops and mashed, amazingly tender. Sauce could come off spicy to some, but not me. Girlfriend had the surf n turf with the shrimp and loved it and the green beans. Angel was our table server and she was alert and attentive. If I had one knock on the experience, it would be the noise the inside generates. They could really benefit from some sort of sound dampeners. Other than that, an overall 9 out of 10 dining experience. We'll be back next year for sure.

Service was a little slow. The food was great. Very busy and nice scenery. We will be back to try more

Food was amazing everytime we've been there! We usually sit out on deck for the beautiful view of the lake. Wait staff is quick and friendly. Felt safe with staff wearing masks and tables distanced.

Beautiful setting! Big porches and eating areas and all the luxuries you could ask for. Food is great!!!

The best thing about this place by far is the view. Service was super slow all night. Mom got grilled walleye and I got blackened and they were prepared exactly the same way, plus a little soggy. When we got the check it was totaled incorrectly--the menu for entrees says all items come with salad, veggies, and a side, but then they charged us extra for the salads and sides. The bartender said "we'll they're not supposed to come with them", yet he knew that the menu listed them as included. They had to run and re-run our card three times. Not impressed at all--they seem to stay in business mainly because they're the only game in town lakeside.

I wish I would have taken a pic of the salmon before it was all eaten!!! Really amazing. Must be fresh! Also, service was great, prices were fare, renovation is really nice. My last comment is that the fries are stellar!!!!
